Lol, was debating telling this story here... I got the Disney Chase card a year and a half ago when I was booking a vacation and pretty sure I got instant approval. Found out later I got a really high limit. Nearly double any other card I had.

Well, last month I got an email about signing up friends and each signup would net me 100 disney rewards points and the friend would get 250$ credit after spending 500$. We don't have enough we can spend in 3 months right now to justify trying a card that requires 3k spend, so decided to sign my wife up for this offer. They made her do income verification and wait a few days before finally giving approval. When the card came, it was a 500$ limit. 🤣🤣🤣. Just barely enough to get the rewards. Lol. So anyway, that's our current Chase stingy story.

Did your wife use household income or just her own income to qualify? I'm curious if you used household income and somehow they may have used your high card limit as a determining factor for her credit limit. Since she was referred by yourself, it's possible they might have been able to see the whole household picture.

If she has other Chase personal cards and wants to increase her limit, she can ask to transfer some limit to the Disney card. For myself, $500 on the Disney card would be just fine as I'm not wasting spend other than what would be needed to get the bonus on the card. But, I've had it in my mind to get another Disney card for my DD who doesn't want much to do with new cards, but who will support a bit of my Disney habit, lol.

I believe we just used her income. No other chase cards for her. And yes, we were only getting the card for the bonuses so not a big deal, just thought it was funny.

Has anyone ever made a payment on a card before making a purchase? Was wondering if we could pay the difference to the card, then make our insurance payment. If not, I'm sure we can split the payment between cards, hopefully that doesn't mess up the paid in full discount.

I know we have some big time Chick Fil A fans here. This is the drive through at the one that just opened in my town last month. I've never seen a Chick Fil A with a drive through door instead of a window. Does anyone know when they started doing this? I've now been to Chick Fil A in seven states, including 4 in the last year and never saw this.

I’ve never seen that before either. What would be the point of a door vs a window?

I had a few minutes to talk with the manager while waiting for my food, with this system they are able to go out and get payment from people further back in line, and if the food is done can get people's orders out. There is enough space outside the lane for vehicles to get by. To them this is normal, he seemed very surprised that I had never seen it before. Of course this is I believe only the second stand alone Chick Fil A in Wisconsin.

Yep this is how ours is in SC! I like it. They’re able to walk completely out.

That makes sense to me! I hate waiting behind someone with a huge order if all I want is a shake or something. They just built a new one by us so I’ll have to check if they have the drive thru door instead

Our chick fil a has several employees in the drive thru lanes taking orders and payments near the menu screens and then at the window, 2 or 3 people are there to run food to different cars etc. It's so efficient. I can usually get through the long line in under 10 minutes.
That’s how ours is running right now. Our Chick-fil-A is notorious for causing huge back ups of traffic on the main road but their new system has been getting people through so quickly

So DH was denied for the AA Barclays Biz. He’s at 7 inquiries in the last 24 months, our goal is to MDD CSP/CRS in June. So I was really hoping not to hit his credit again (the Barclays was supposed to be last credit pull before the MDD)
We have about $2,500 in additional spend (camps) before then, I hate not having a MSR.
I have 9 credit checks so I was trying to slow down on my pulls.
So what should I do, we need a CIC, do I apply or DH??

We burned a couple of IHG 40k capped FN certs from our legacy $49 AF IHG card at Candlewood Suites in Lake Buena Vista for a weekend WDW trip. It’s a newer property and I must say we are quite impressed. The suite is spacious, has a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and even a small two burner stove top, plus all the kitchen items you’d need. Parking fee is a modest $15 per night. It’s not the Willard in DC but with unrestricted FN certs a thing of the past, it’s not a bad redemption for the AF on the card. We will definitely use this as our go to for the FN certs each year.

I've not seen one either. The one dd works at was fully renovated a year ago and doesn't have this as far as I've noticed. But with them closed and the triple lines wrapping around the builiding at all hours, I could have missed it.

And if anyone loves the nuggets, the Just Bare nuggets at Costco are pretty good dupes. My kids love them.

This is SOP for Portillo's and has been for years. No "drive thru doors" though, they use the regular exits, usually a rear exit which places them near the drive thru line anyway.

Does anyone have TMobile service? Are you happy with it? DH wants to move our new iPhones from Boostmobile to TMobile.

you can sign up for a trial and they will send you a little doo dad (technical term there) to use with your existing phones for a few weeks. It sucked by us. You are closer to civilization so maybe better for you.

Ha, not much closer considering we just got cable in Dec.

Does anyone have recommendations for Puerto Rico? Planning a last-minute trip there for our spring break (all late 20s adults). We’ll all be fully vaccinated by then so we wanted to go somewhere fun, but not international.

Flights are booked, but we honestly don’t have any plans in between. I’ve been to San Juan (as part of a cruise) and liked it enough, but definitely don’t want to be there the whole time.

Anyone have hotel /Airbnb / general location recommendations? Activity recommendations or any other tips?
Condado area is nice. My DH was there for 3 monthes after Maria. Lts of great restaurants. Air BNB may be less expensive than hotels but you'll want easy beach access.
