The more I think about it the book aspects make sense. The Mando is done in chapters. This finale was the end of Din Djarins book. We then open the book on Boba Fett. We could see books on many other mandalorians going forward. Gives length to this show rather than say a 3-4 season arc or something. Always something new and fresh.

I knewwwwww it. Y’all tried to get me to doubt myself but I knew it was going to be Luke!
Grogu is money. Disney loves money. We see Grogu at the latest Chapter 18 and he’s back with Mando. He’s the kid that thought he was brave enough to endure a summer camp away from home, but couldn’t make it without his parents for a weekend. Din said “I promise” to seeing him again. They’re not killing the Grogster off by a character from a trilogy that’s widely disliked. I also doubt we see Luke again. The transition back to Mando will handled by someone Luke trusts to bring Grogu back to Mando with
I agree he’ll be back with Din, but I don’t think it’ll be on this show. I think Din’s story is done on The Mando and Boba takes over next season. I think Don and Grogu will be back on either Ahsoka or Rangers.
Finally got to watch!
Really enjoyed it as a whole. A few thoughts; any time I get to see Luke fighting that way... can't be beat. I mean it and he's not even my favorite Star Wars character. There's no way they are done with Mando or the kid. There are so many possibilities that they can do with Luke's academy (including Grogu getting kicked out), they have plenty of time. Or, another path, Grogu uses the Razor Crest knob as a part of his lightsaber! lol I'm one long-time fan that enjoys the new characters like Kylo, so I'm just happy to wait and see where they go with it.
The only bit I didn't like was the initial focus shots on the dark troopers, which just reminded me way too strongly of Doctor Who for some reason, but that passed. I want Leia in something, just as a cameo, so I hope to see her in the future.
I haven’t gotten to all the Boba Fett series rumors. Is that confirmed that it’s not a new show that they just didn’t announce at the investor meeting to not spoil what would happen this week?
Disney hasn’t confirmed anything yet. Book of Boba Fett would make sense for next season though too.
Sure. They could do 1-2 season storyline arcs with different Mandalorians since the show isn’t called “Din Djarin”. But for some reason I think this was just their announcement that a Boba Fett series is coming. Even if Din was in the other shows, I don’t think people would be very happy with him becoming a side character. And them not saying anything about it is probably turning fans elation over the episode into anger. I went from excited to kind of pissed now. You’re basically cancelling a series that brought you 86M subscribers while you had nothing else valuable original content wise

Welp, going to pour myself a glass of wine in a bit and watch this!!!
At first I was mad too, if this was the end of the Din story arc. But the more I’ve thought of it, it’s an excellent end to his story. His main goal was to get the child to a Jedi, and he succeeded. Makes the destruction of the Razor seem even more important as he no longer needs it for his journey. I don’t think he’ll become a side character, just not the sole star of the series. I think he’ll still play a big role in the other series taking place at the same time. Just his main quest/journey is over.
Plus, holding back the Boba announcement as a new series wouldn’t really have made sense. They could have announced a Boba series at the investors day and it wouldn’t have spoiled anything about this finale (maybe just that he didn’t die, but even that could have been avoided as people could have speculated that the series would have followed his time looking for his armor). So that’s why I’m firmly in the camp of Mando season 3 will be about Boba mainly.
I vote for season 3 we have a (separate) spoilers allowed thread.
