Why not transfer the ur to hyatt? Is it less ur to book than transfering?
Because the type of room (2-bedroom suite) is not available on Hyatt points for the night I need. And...if the event I need the room for gets cancelled I don't want to have points in Hyatt - I would want them in my URs.

Thinking I may still use URs. $100 is less OOP than the $300+ they want for the room if I don't use points.

The only shopping I’ve been doing is for our future granddaughter :flower:....my daughter is due in January, so shopping the Kohl’s sale racks and garage sales for gently used toys etc.

Found a Fisher Price Loving Family fold up dollhouse at one with a little furniture.....now looking for people and additional Furniture....tried eBay, but wow it’s expensive....I’m guessing collectors are buying who knew :confused3...I have time so will keep looking at garage sales

we rented our DVC points once about 6 years ago....went smoothly, not sure how it is now
Congratulations!!! How exciting! No grandkids yet for us - but hopefully in the next few years.... We saved our Fisher Price dollhouse from when our kids were little and some other fisher price toys that were in great condition. We have Thomas the Tank Engine table and tons of trains, Playmobil and more leggos than I can keep track of.
We have always used our points ourselves. Still hoping that we might. I am trying to talk my DH into a trip to Vero Beach this winter.

I am booking a room using URs for one night at a Hyatt property. When I go to check out it says: Mandatory charge: Collected at property. $100 deposit.

Are they going to charge me an additional $100 when I check in? Or is this just a pending charge on my CC to cover indidentals? If I can avoid this charge by paying cash, I may not use URs.

It sounds like a deposit for incidentals to me. If you try directly with Hyatt does it show something similar?

Thanks.....we passed my daughters little tykes dollhouse and other toys to my sister in law for her daughter....unfortunately she forgot I wanted it all back after her daughter was done with it and tossed it >:(

No. If I start a cash booking it does not. However, on hotels DOT com it shows the same $100 “deposit” due at hotel.
I booked it. If I have to pay $100 it is not the end of the world since the room is actually over $300 that night.

I would love to have one of these, but our front door is quirky. You have to push it with your shoulder to get the deadbolt to lock. It's always been this way, since the day we built it. We would have to get a whole new front door installed, or completely reinstall the one we have :-(
I have a finicky front door too, you have to put just the right amount of pressure in the right direction to get the deadbolt to lock/unlock. But we've had a keypad deadbolt for years now, and it works great as long as we do the right pressure trick on the door itself as the deadbolt is moving. I think of it as added security. 😄

Best thing we did when we moved to our new house (10 years ago) was install a keypad lock on the door. Kids were 9 and 11 then and coming home from school by themselves. Didn't have to worry about them ever having a key - just have to punch in a code and get in the house. Best $100 ever spent. I have never used a key for our house.

And, I got myself locked out again!

Babysitting the grands yesterday at their house which I have a key to. But, didn't have the key on me. My yard includes 4 various cars that my name is attached to so I don't match car keys with house keys.

Anyway, we went outside for some play time and the girls were riding their various ride on things - balance bike, tricycle and some 4 wheeled thing that I don't know what to call it. Having a great time! Youngest runs back inside to get a stuffed animal to give it a ride. I'm at the end of the driveway. She returned quickly and continued playing.

Then, time to go in. The door is locked. The deadbolt wasn't fastened but she must have turned the thing in the door knob. Obviously wasn't me as she would not have been able to get in.

This house has 4 exterior doors and quite a few reachable windows. I tried all the windows and then 3 of the doors and gave up. The last door was the slider and it was blocked by materials that must be some project son in law is about to start.

I did have my car key in my pocket, but that was it. Sat in the car with the kids for awhile after tiring of the patio, deck, and carport areas. They are little so easily bored. Was able to play the radio in the car. Couldn't go nowhere as the car didn't have car seats and I had no money or phone.

Eventually I went back to the slider and moved some stuff and the door was not locked. In we went!! This house may get a keypad for Xmas. My house might also. Had never really given one any thought before.

Laughter seems a little harsh during your trying time ... but there is a big smile on my face

I don't mind. I had to laugh at myself and actually thought of this thread at one time. It's not as if I was uncomfortable. There were waters and a box of Izze lemonade drinks on the carport - they often drop stuff there before it makes it's way inside. I'm also bad about leaving the phone behind. I did have another option but wasn't about to try it. I had opened a window when I arrived. However it was a high window on the back side - basement walks out at ground level. There was a ladder. Nope - left that alone. We were outside almost 2 and 1/2 hours, but the first 1 and 1/2 was playing and we didn't know we were locked out.

Aimlessly looking through Amazon and I saw an offer of "Pay $0 if you add a debit card to your wallet" where the price of the item was crossed off and replaced with the $0. It was $6. I found the offer again in a $13 item - both of them were flavored seltzer waters. Has anyone seen this offer or has an idea of what the maximum value is? I don't see it in the terms. I don't mind adding my debit card but I'd like to get the maximum from it.

Haven't seen that one but DoC has been posting all the deals. I know there have been ones for adding amex or discover, neither helped me since I already have both on my acct. Probably something similar.

Okay, I need to stop shopping for the day. I bought Uggs from Sam's Club (I have brown so I "needed" black) and a black zip cardigan from WHBM.
Lol, I ordered a sweater fleece cardigan from LLBean that I had been wanting. I have an LLbean CC and they were offering 15% off using the card, plus the past 3 months they have had a $15 bonus for spending $100 in certain categories, so I had a good amount of credit towards it. I know that their stuff is expensive but I really like it and with that deal I couldn't pass it up. Now I recently got an email for $25 bonus each month for 3 months for using the card so I am definitely going to do that one too! I am not promoting the card to anyone - it is just one of those cards that I have had for many years that I mainly got to begin with for free shipping and free return shipping too.

I have a bunch of LL Bean stuff in my cart too. I'm trying to restrain myself but its cloudy and rainy and I just want to order warm, comfy clothes.

Ok - looking for recommendations... Cruise booked for December 13th. Very highly doubt it will be sailing. They are for sure not sailing through November right now - so even if they do start up will probably be only a few ships out of a few ports. Backup plan was to go to Cabo. Been there before and love it. Would be easy to social distance on beach/pool and hotels are about 50%. Wear mask inside like we do now. Then I got to thinking what if one of us did get sick and we were unable to fly back from Mexico. I know the chances are slim - but the thought of possibly missing Christmas with family and not being able to get back to work has me a little concerned.

I really do want to go somewhere though - but want warm. Been googling different options. (DH is not a Disney fan so will do that at a later date with DS21 and DD19). Any suggestions? Savanna, GA or Key West or Riverwalk or I don't know... I know Disney and Cruises. Everything else I have no idea...

I bought my trip insurance for Japan but do make sure and find out all the info first. I used the compare site that is often mentioned but *'d out here and another I found from google. It was the 2nd one that alerted me to part of the policy not being available to residents of WA. So thank you state government for not letting me get part of the ins I really wanted, the non medical evacuation. So let's hope for no typhoon's or earthquakes or I'm figuring it out all on my own.

I was however, able to add car coverage which I wanted to make sure I had for Okinawa. And thank you state gov because we're one of a handful of states where the trip insurance is the primary medical coverage and I don't have to put it through my own insurance first. So I guess here you win some and you lose some. But neither of these things were pointed out when I went directly to the insurance page nor was it on the first compare site. Not sure how else I'd have known but I did call to talk with an agent to make sure. The one I picked was still worth it compared to others as the coverage % and $ amounts were better than the one's similarly priced.

We are thinking of redeeming our remaining URs on resurfacing our deck with composite planks. Has anyone here installed the basic Trex Enhance (Lowe’s) or Veranda (Home Depot) decking and been happy with the results?

I don't have the Enhance but I've been happy with the Trex Transcend. My son in law did it a few years back.
