Is anyone else worried about opening up again

If this is what you really think most people are concerned about then you are right it isn't worth asking again because it's clear you aren't even listening.
I am listening. I truly didn’t mean to offend. My response was directed more at the fact that all these threads rehash the same arguments over and over again. I probably should have said that. I’m hearing “mostly” two schools of thought. Keep it all locked down until numbers drop and we have a handle on it, or open it up because businesses need to open which indicates money is the driving force.
This whole thing is a nightmare for everyone. Truly. It’s horrible. The economic toll is horrific for so many, I am not making light of that in any way. I also know things have to reopen at some point. I just don’t think we are that point where we can fling the doors wide open and say everything is going to be ok. Take Georgia for example. The Governor isn’t even bothering to follow the steps outlined by the federal govt. to reopen safely.
When I said it isn’t even worth talking about anymore, I was just discouraged at the way this is all being handled. Lately, I’ve been feeling that it isn’t worth talking about anymore because we can’t do much about it anyway. I’m just feeling a bit down today about the whole thing.
There is no cohesion or plan and every state is acting on its own. I fear the loss of life is going to be so much higher than it needs to be because there is no consistent, rational plan in place. It’s basically one big poop show. and today for some reason it got me. Hope I didn’t offend anyone!😊

And more speculation that is just going to create more fear.

Nah. It's common sense. I don't think that's a fear-mongering point of view.
More people who get vaccinated for flu, less hospital beds used and more available for Covid patients.
Covid hit later in our flu season, next year we may not be so lucky. That's the gist of article I posted.

Yes but at this point its too far out and have lots of time for a treatment to come out.

I hope you are right, but never hurts to remind people! I know there are a lot of people who don't get the flu vaccine, but hopefully they will next time.

:)

The governor of Georgia is working with the commissioner of Georgia public health, Dr. Kathleen Toomey on the decision to open up Georgia. Not all medical experts believe that we have to be locked down until a vaccine is available.
Yes you’re right. I’m just stating that I’m happy with the way my area is handling it.

People die every year from the flu even though we have treatments and vaccines. Will they refuse the COVID19 vax too? I had hoped this would open eyes..

March 10 for us but, we had not been out much the week prior. I'm ok with it as long as I can get outside for exercise. I'd like to see what happens in areas that had not had many cases and who open up first.

Not really. I figure it's going to be a good experiment in Darwinism. I'm not changing MY behavior until there's a good treatment, an extreme decline in new cases, or a vaccine. Otherwise, my personal life is going to be centered around my home with minimal social contact with persons not in my household. I'll be curious to see what happens to all those people who DO decide to go out and "live their lives." Maybe they are right. Maybe not. Either way, the consequences will be on them. I'll also be watching to see if all of those advocating so publicly for an "end" to the lockdown will actually come out and "live their lives." That will be a major "tell" in my opinion.

My family has been locked down since the first of march.

That sucks. I'm mid March only because I had a virus, so I self isolated early. COVID-19 tests weren't available, so I felt it was the right thing to do to keep my fellow employees from getting sick. Being stuck at home sucks.

So we’ve been locked down since early March. One trip a week by my wife or I, groceries, food takeout or pharmacy. Only other thing was taking my beloved mini golden doodle out nightly around 10pm for a walk through our quieter than usual neighborhood. Really enjoyed doing that. Last night I encountered a neighbor who warned me there was a coyote roaming the neighborhood. Scooped my puppy up in my arms and now I’m Reluctant to even do that...seriously I just don’t want to play anymore!
