When do you think grocery shopping will have a sense of normalcy again?

Is normalcy a word? Did I just make that up?

Anyways - after this initial wave of panic buying, things should level out right? This is the type of stuff that makes me anxious, seeing everyone else panic.

We are going to walk to a different grocery store today, just need a few things that shouldn't be sold out. And curious to see how that store is doing in comparison to Target yesterday.

I think when stores are able to restock after this initial shopping craziness, things will stay on shelves longer - excluding tp and sanitizer of course! :D

Post here and let us know how your stores are stocking up, or not!

Yes, it's a word. 😊 I think it may be a while before things are normal again. DH's company is working production through the weekend (running production lines on Sunday is highly discouraged for employees) to be able to replenish their product in grocery stores.

We were discussing this last night. I have a doctor's appointment on Monday and will head to Target after that. I'm hoping things have calmed down a little by then. I don't need anything urgently, but I want to see if they restocked cleaning items. I always buy the huge 3 pack of clorox wipes and I am running out. I should have bought them weeks ago and just forgot.

I know that people panicked yesterday when they closed the schools and that's why shelves are empty right now. Of course, even Amazon is out of TP and wipes. It's infuriating how stupid people are.

Yep most employers don’t like to pay that double time unless necessary. I haven’t had in double time in over 5 years. What does your husband make?

I am in the Cincinnati area. Things have calmed down a little bit over here. Wednesday night was our local mass panic time. I just stopped in Kroger because my dd had soccer practice and I needed to pick up a few things -- it was Armageddon in there. Never saw anything like it! Since then I have been in and out of stores to prepare for social distancing, and the pandemonium has settled down, but it is still lingering. However, definitely not as panic stricken as Wednesday night.

My guess? A week or so. There aren't supply-line disruptions so it is merely the public panic and now the news that the kids are going to be home all day for weeks driving the high-volume buying, and that will fade out or be satisfied in relatively short order.

I'm just annoyed that this aligned with St. Patrick's Day. Corned beef goes on sale once a year, and I usually stock the freezer. But this year? I got one, and count myself lucky to have that - it was the last at the store I went to!

We are on the low end of at risk (age 63). To be safe we went to our local Super Target this morning .They open at 7 and we got there at 6:40 and there was already a line of about 20 people. Everyone was very respectful and there was no running or shoving. They had fair supplies of TP, and the other desired items, but their meat and produce had not arrived yet. Hoping that people stay reasonable. I know on Friday our local grocery stores were slammed. We are in the Denver suburbs.

I am in Northern Ky. I am still working through the instructions and paperwork sent home for at home classroom learning for our 3 kids starting Monday.

I dare not go to Costco or Sam's. I went last week and ain't going back for a while. DW is going to Kroger tomorrow and shows no concern.

I was at Costco yesterday morning, the one off Mall Road in Florence. It was very busy, but not the sense of sheer panic as Wednesday night at Kroger. There was the longest line I'd ever seen to check out, but it moved quickly. I went for meat, I love Costco meat, and they were out of chicken! :( Never saw that before. They had water, but out of TP and Clorox wipes which I didn't need --but people were notified when going in they didn't have them in stock.
