Y'all, I'm here now and this cold is no joke!! I almost died on the tram from Epcot to my car tonight. I'm from Mississippi so I'll admit I'm not used to cold weather, but dang, it's COLD!!

Do we need to be at HS an hour befor opening if all we want is a BG? I don't really want to rope drop any rides.
You just need to be in the park before it opens. If you are planning to rope drop I would plan to be inside security by 6:40 at the latest.

I’m planning to leave SSR at 6am to be parked and through security around 6:30. I have a rental car.
I was just asking if we needed to be there any earlier if all we want is a BG. Don't care to rope drop any rides.

I could see DHS trying early EMHs again.
The one time they did it, I think part of the confusion was because they announced BGs would be available at official park open, instead of as people tapped in (which is how they were doing it in the early days), but then made them available 20 minutes or so before the official time with regular boarding groups running out before regular park open.
Now that the expectation of BGs available exactly at park open is better understood and with Disneyland having done Magic Morning with Ride of the Resistance not available during it, I think the pieces are there for them to try EMH in the morning at DHS (assuming RotR would continue to not be available during EMH). For example, they could hold off site guests for a couple of minutes in the holding area after open, to allow off site guests to try for BG and then let them go.
Will be interested to see if they'll move the April EMH or not.

When I saw that regular BGs lasted just a minute this morning...

Luckily, those MLK crowds will soon be leaving!
For those wondering how I write-up my touring plan for the parks:

Thank you all for the support and likes for "The Chart".
It's a pleasure to have the opportunity to compile this data for the group!
For those of you that know me...you know I'm quite proud of my "reaction score:messages" ratio.
I truly appreciate all the reactions!!

I like that just a slight bit better than 4.7.

The top 3 days all occurred in the last 9 days! Hopefully we’ll be setting more records soon!!

As a reminder, I am heading to WDW on Saturday morning so my chart time has 4 days left. I’d be willing to fill it in when I get back if people keep track while I’m gone. I’m out until Sunday 2/2 though.

No you don't need to be at HS an hour before opening if all you want is a BG. Just early enough to get through security and tap into the park before the official opening time. So 30 minutes or so should be fine.

This Texas gal agrees. Not really looking forward to tomorrow morning, but we're going to give it a try again. My kids were laughing at my chattering teeth.

I just wanted to thank all of you on this forum for all of the fantastic information you have provided. Without it we would have missed getting to ride on RoTR. We were in the park yesterday, MLK day, by 6:30 am. We had 3 of us on iPhones and at first I wasn’t getting the Join button lit. Then when it did, I was able to get BG 78. My husband and son were clueless how the process worked so without my DIL and I using this board and this thread, we wouldn’t have experienced this attraction. We got called around 12:30. Got the push notification before I actually saw that it had changed. We were doing rider swap so I got to ride twice. And going back through a second time through the fast pass line was sweet. We really had no lines and completed a second time through by 1 pm. Loved it and thank you everyone. The key is being in the park before rope drop. So if we can land a boarding pass on MLK day with 1 minute for regular BGs, the suggestions here will help anyone experience this incredible ride. Thank you!!!

Seeing as we're used to paying for Universal Express passes over admission, I'm actually ok with paying for FP. Pay once use it as please :)

As a local passholder, I would be shut out of rides if they did this so I hate that idea. Universal lines mostly don’t get as crazy except for around holidays, and most days few things go over 20mn before 11- so even without express it’s very easy to do nearly everything without a long line. Also, the highest tier pass, which costs less than a silver disney pass, gives you express after 4.

May the force be with the peope waiting outside in our temporary winter weather! I wonder how the Battuans will react to this cold snap?

5:30 woke up
5:37 out of room & request Lyft
5:50 in Lyft
6:00 at the Studios
6:15 tapstyles open
6:22 through tapstyles
BG 15!!!
Next to me was 16.
5 seconds later heard 65

7:14 enter MFSR
7:28 off MFSR (meh)
No BG called yet.
Had coffee & waiting for the ride to open.

Good morning folks! Just an FYI for anyone planning to use bell services before heading to RD DHS - at least at Riverside this morning, bell services was not available until 6 am. I could have dropped luggage off at the front desk but I would have had to retrieve it later to take to Riviera. We rope-dropped the bell services stand and on the bus now. May the fastest fingers win!
