Technically the virtual queue replaces a standby line. I don't see how it would be right to guests to limit them to 1 ride in an X-day span. If a guest wants to get up at 5am every morning and head to DHS and attempt joining a BG that is his/her prerogative. I know I wouldn't like Disney limiting my admission. Whats next, blocking guests out of crowded parks if they've entered them too much recently? One FP+ for 7DMT in a week because you had one three days ago? I think it would be a slippery slope.

This is how I feel about the one per day limit and why I see it as an extension of the same concept. I feel like if the line is open to some it’s open period. So if there are BG and you are no longer holding one I don’t think it’s any worse for someone to be allowed to join on the same day or different day that week.

I’m not a fan of them regulating it at all, honestly. Let the crowd levels decide how many times people can ride.

Very good point! I think the one BG per day was also implemented when Disney was letting guests in much earlier than posted park open time. This new free for all system doesn't really allow for multiple boarding groups at this time because they are filling so fast. It will probably need to be revisited down the line. I am curious what happens when Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway opens?

Hi,
I don’t post a lot but have been stalking this thread since my family and I will be staying at the dolphin Jan. 17th-20th. I know this is going to be a busy weekend, and I really want to do everything we can to ride since my dad booked the dolphin specifically to be able to get to GE early. We have two day park hopper tickets, and I don’t mind getting up both mornings to increase our odds of getting on RotR, but I wanted to check if anyone knows if there are buses running to take you to the other parks at 7am. We were going to try to take advantage of early EMH at Animal Kingdom on the 18th and devote all of the 19th to DHS. Now we’re going to have to get up early both morning to increase our odds unless more availability starts to open up. Once we see if we’ve got a BG, we’d still like to go to Animal Kingdom for as long as we can that day! Thanks so much for all the helpful tips and knowledge! It is appreciated!!!

This may be an unpopular opinion, but you shouldn’t be allowed to get a BG more than twice in a 10-day span. If BGs are gone at 5 minutes after opening, then the folks riding it 3 or 4+ days in a week are taking a space away from someone who wants to ride it bad enough to be there before rope drop. That isn’t right. I was behind a group of guys today that had obviously ridden it before and we’re even spoiling it by talking about what was about to happen next. It seems that for some folks it’s more about the thrill of getting a BG than experiencing the ride.
I have to disagree for some people, we are making the trip next year with my parents for what will probably be our last time since we cant afford it anymore. We have 2 weeks for a last hurrah and DH wants to ride ROTR as many times as possible because that will be it.
People shouldn't give away spoilers in queues, whether it's ROTR, 7 dwarfs or carousel of progress, but if I can get my husband to wake up at 4am to get on this ride he deserves to give it his best shot a few times.

to the bold, it's not that they have no sympathy is that they have to be strict on these rules or else everyone would try and ride the day after. Believe me when I say the CM do not want to say NO to any guests, especially under these circumstances they are getting yelled at, cursed at and sometimes physically threatened on an hourly basis
Of course that’s true for the CMs... but, it’s tomato, tomahto for guests.

My point about the lack of “Disney magic” was really about the leeway these working folk have to commiserate with the disappointing human experience we are all sharing in that moment. Because these SWGE are clearly allowed to be more brusque than the average Disney CM. I spoke with more than two CMs yesterday who were outright rude/mean regarding ROTR. And in that way this was a disappointingly unique WDW experience.

Jan 1st = BG 92 at 1:35
Jan 2nd = BG 88 at 1:35

Today (Jan 3rd) at 3:30 = BG 73.

Not a good day so far for RotR. They are well behind the pace of previous days and a VERY rough guess would say they are barely going to get into backup BGs today (and that assumes they get back on track with no issues).
It’s still stuck at 73. We aren’t hopeful that we will get to ride.

I actually wish this was yesterday. I would have just dealt with the initial disappointment and not gotten my hopes up all afternoon/evening.

Ride was down for most of the afternoon. We were BG 64 and got in line at 1:35 and shortly after, they announced that the ride was down. Line would move and stop a few times for the next 2 hours before they made us all leave. Gave us a FP to come back.
Just finished eating and going back to see if we can get on now.

You can't, as far as I know from being there asking 20 minutes ago. Nothing changed in the app. It's down. CM tried to cheer me up that they should get to my BG 83 today.

For the morning mayhem lottery... can anyone make sense as to why one person's phone is able to grab a boarding pass while someone else cannot? My son has a newer Android phone and he registered as not being in the park. I have an older iPhone. I was able to get a backup boarding pass after refreshing numerous times. We were both on Verizon LTE, all bars filled (showing good connectivity). It was so disheartening hearing the cheers of people around who had snagged a pass, when you are still trying. And we KNEW what to do thanks to this forum. I'm certain there were plenty of people arriving with the intention of riding, with no clue that if they did not book a pass with their phone by 7:05, they were out of luck. Oh and yeah...I concur with the belief that there is no Disney Magic with GET with regard to RoR. None were roaming today. Very curt answers. Long lines in the 2 locations where they were camped. Cast members seemed aggravated that they had to deal with people who had problems. Seems they were more "helpful" in the initial reports.

Now groups 71-80
Finally back up. I wonder if they’ll make it to 124. That certainly seems unlikely - especially if they have a bunch of recovery FPers returning. Will we see 1 day park hoppers handed out again? Hopefully they can rally and get to 124!!

Totally out of everybody’s control but such a bad look for Disney during one of their busiest days of the year. I’m really sorry for all those who grabbed BGs 11 hours ago and won’t get a ride today.

It seems like “newer” phones don’t give you any advantage.
I was on an iPhone 11 Pro, out of my group i had the newest phone and got through first on the 3 days we went. The app only stalled out on the 3rd day but I was able to quickly relaunch it and get in. The other truck if the join boarding group doesn’t turn red is to click on my status and the join boarding group in that page turns blue. That’s what I had to do the first 2 days.
