:offtopic:Anyone else sad to see Club Cool, Innoventions, and the Nations Fountains close tonight? I really wish I could have schemed my way to a trip last month so I could have seen them all one last time.

Of course it does not help that I just finished tonight the scrapbook of our April trip where DH and I did the Undiscovered Epcot Tour. Seriously sometimes I just do not get Disney management these days...
We were there yesterday but I didn't realize it was the last day already! In fact, I was thinking I needed to bring DS9 back to Innoventions because we were looking at things in there that correspond to his curriculum. DD loved colortopia and I am embarrassed to say we never even knew it was there. Bummer. Someone proposed in front of the fountain yesterday morning. :lovestruc

I loved the game where you had to make the colors with the three little sliders 🤣

With all the car seat trade in events going on or coming up, I am thinking about trading in an old infant seat to get a travel carseat for DD3. Does anyone have any recommendations for carseats that are easy to transport through airports, then gate check? I'm looking for something inexpensive, lightweight, and not too wide (so it will easily fit in our car seat backpack). Ideally, it would convert from a forward facing carseat to a highback booster. It doesn't need to rear face.

I had my eye on the Cosco Finale, but it says the minimum weight is 30 lbs. DD3 is tiny and just hit 26 lbs. Does anyone have any ideas?
I have a Minnie Mouse Cosco Scenera. It is super lightweight and we have hauled it all over the place on planes and rental cars. When we are home we use it on our golf cart. It doesn't convert to a high back booster but is good up to 40 lb...double check the weight in case I am misremembering. I got ours online from Walmart a few years ago.

For those of you who purchased the Disney tickets through Delta Vacations. When do we get access to those? Do we get actual tickets mailed to us or codes for the tickets via email so we can put them on MDE?

If you booked a Disney hotel for check-in soon (say less than 60 days), it's been coming via e-mail around 24 hours and can be linked on MDE. If you did the trick booking flight/hotel only for 1 person but tickets for multiple, those are getting held until they can verify you really want all those tickets.

Does anyone here ever actually book flights through the Chase travel portal and get the flights for the price they initially show for? I am trying to use points to book a flight for my husband from Japan to here for Christmas break. I keep seeing the price is about $1000 (this is the price for the same flight directly on the airline's page). I want to get my "points are worth 1.5x" value, though. When I choose the flights and come to the final page where I have to complete the booking, I ALWAYS get a popup that says "the price for this flight has changed" and the new price is like $500 higher. Oddly, that is exactly the "value" of my points. If I use my points and complete the booking, the amount left over that I have to pay is exactly the same as if I just booked via the airline's page and paid in full. Either way, I'm out $1000.

Why is this? This happens with any flight, on any airline. Is this just proof that these points really aren't worth what they claim? I have seen a similar thing happen with hotel bookings. I have almost booked a few times, but found MUCH lower prices directly through the hotel sites, so just booked that way and cashed out the points using the cash back option, for a 1:1 ratio.

What am I doing wrong? Or is this just how Chase travel portal makes sure they aren't actually losing money on all these points?

I have booked 5 roundtrip flights on JetBlue for multiple people and never had this happen. The price displayed in the search box was always the same as the JetBlue website and on the final page when I actually purchased the flight on points with my CSR :confused3

Checking the portal now...

I have only done it once to book my DDs fare to Australia. The flights were about $1200 and I used 80,364 points on my CSR. The $1200 was exactly what the United website had. I am not sure why that could be happening to you.

Checking the portal now...
I just checked another JetBlue flight for a random date in October. Looks like it is consistent. What airline are you doing it with?

I just did it again. Price was $1063 roundtrip. Got to the next page and it shot up to $1928!!!

Maybe it's just international flights. Try this, book OKA (Okinawa, Naha airport) to LAX, 12/17 to 12/31. Filter out to Delta airlines and choose any flight that seems like it's around $1000. Then tell me what happens when you try and actually book it.

I have only ever transferred points to Southwest to book using points that way, so haven't used the portal in this way yet. But, this is happening with any airline I choose! Looking at Delta, American, or United. They all codeshare with either ANA or Japan Airlines for the flights between Okinawa and the mainland for the layover.

Just a reminder - for those that were hoping to take advantage of the SW free re-booking window due to Max 8 (which through certain strategies CAN cover both Thanksgiving and Christmas)... I believe the cutoff to do this is midnight tonight!

If you didn't have a chance to read up on this one - I typed up a "mini-guide" of sorts on DISchurners which is linked in my quoted post above.

Thanks. I managed to book my DD back to college for Sunday of Thanksgiving week. Feeling slightly guilty for it. lol Paid $106 (with points) for a flight that had $313 showing, I am not even sure if I will keep it but at least I have it as an option. Usually put her on the Amtrak, it is easy as it stops right in the college town. The flights are to Chicago so she has to figure out how to get back from there and it is an added expense. But the flights are better time of day wise and either way we have to drive to Pittsburgh on our end.

Yup, I just got it too:

Thank you! Now I know I'm not going crazy! This is so annoying. It isn't happening on some of the Asian airlines like Asiana, but those flights are like 35 hours long and cut into his leave time too much.
Yeah, definitely not crazy! When I do just Delta and Delta at 36 hours it does not happen. When I click the "multiple airlines" option it does. So weird!

I've booked multiple flights and multiple hotels via the UR portal through my CSR account and have not encountered that. The price reflects what I can find on the website of the airline or hotel and my UR points are worth 1.5 to purchase. Here is Ashford Castle for a one night booking via the UR portal and Ashford's Castle website. Not only are the points to redeem exactly 1.5 cpp the cost is less via the UR portal even as a straight purchase. On the AC website it is 733 Euros for a Corrib Lake view room which is $833 USD. The UR portal is pricing it at $733.65 USD.
