That’s a great way to look at it and I think we are gonna go with garden grill! Would you rather do breakfast or dinner?
Oh goodness - you’re literally describing my internal struggle right now. We have it booked for a late breakfast (ie 10:30 so it will actually be our “lunch”) and a dinner for our trip in Jan and I need to cancel one eventually. I can’t decide yet. Breakfast is less expensive (and I LOVE some good breakfast foods). I’d look at the prices of both and the menus and decide which would please you more. When I asked my wife to help us choose she said let’s just do both that day HAHA!!

OK booking a delta vacation package for WDW tix. Double miles value expires 9/6. There is speculation you could secure the tickets and be refunded the rest of the package if you cancel within 24 hours, but we are not sure on this. In the meantime I think its safer to go the insurance route. Plus in order to get the double miles benefit you need to use miles and I was told those cannot be placed back in your account.

Here goes:
  1. Log into Deltavacations.com go to the box on the bottom and click on "advanced search"
  2. To use the double miles benefit it must be a flight and hotel x2 nights
  3. I booked a WDW hotel, I'm not sure if that's necessary but I would to be safe. You also want to book it for soon to secure tickets ASAP. I did >30 days but less than 60 because i didn't want to get into any funky cancellation issues
  4. Depending on how many miles you want to use to the "throwaway" search for cheap flights. I looked at delta.com and did "flexible dates" to find my flights but I didn't look too hard
  5. In the search box do the flight (I did ATL-MCO), arrival must be MCO to add tickets. I did my reservation for 4 people because I couldn't figure out how to add more than one ticket. @Andysol discovered you can back into the reservation to add more tickets (but they would all need to be adult tix). Also I could add more tickets after the booking but I'm not sure you can use miles after the fact so you should secure all the tickets with the initial booking.
  6. Do the cheapest route you can find (unless you don't care about how many miles you are putting out) and 2 night at the value. Put in one person
  7. There is a "show all hotel filters" option - you can click on Disney. I chose 2 nights at ASM.
  8. Keep clicking the red "next" button box that appears on the side of the right side of the screen.
  9. Pick your flights. Don't care about the times do the one that costs $0, hit the RED NEXT button after each time
  10. The site can get a bit sluggish
  11. After you get the flights you will be at the "extra options" page
  12. Under activities choose the Disney tickets for the kind (base, hoppers or hopper plus), and days you want. You can only pick one at first (and only an adult ticket)
  13. Go up to the RED NEXT button again and click it
  14. You will then land on the "Traveler information page" - back out of this and add the remaining tickets you want - one by one back and forth (sooo slow)
  15. Once you are satisified you will add the travelers information. Click next and there you will see the insurance options. Choose the cheaper one and below you will see where you can use miles.
  16. Voila you have your package and tickets
  17. Once your tickets come go back online and cancel the package. You will see it says a large amount non refundable (for tickets) and a voucher for the amount the rest of the trip was worth (and the miles you paid also count double towards this portion)
Is this just for tickets or could you use this just for a resort?

In researching options to get to SYD next Christmas, it looks like going out of SF might be the best option. So awardhacker shows me the various point options but when I look that routes, I am thoroughly confused.

So let’s say I wanted to go with the direct option, how would go about that?

I read the menu to Dh and he said he’d rather do dinner for two reasons: the choice of food and also the wind is supposed to die down by tomorrow night. So I’m booking a 5:50 for tomorrow and we have a frozen fp 3:10-4:10!

I agree both are great. We like the 8am reservation and being first on Soarin. But if I've never been and had to choose I'd do dinner. We've done both on trips but different days hahaha!
Is this just for tickets or could you use this just for a resort?
Must be a flight and resort - this is for adding tickets on. Do you have Delta miles? If so you could book a "throwaway flight" and resort, cancel it and use the voucher on a hotel only booking.

No we don’t have delta miles. I was just curious lol.

THANKS so much for this! I got to step 14 haha - and gave up! I was so close!

So just to clarify - if you’re buying tickets for kids you need to buy them an adult ticket basically?

From what I read I will need an EIN to apply for CIP2. I had an EIN for a consulting business I had up until 2009, which I believe is when I last filed taxes for it. Can I use that old EIN number for my CIP2 ? Or can I just use my ssn again for CIP2?

I just got auto approved for my 3rd cip with my ssn.

Currently repeated cips with ssn work. No guarantee that will last forever

Haha. FOMO and its SO confusing

Yes if you book the one flight. If you want to shell out more miles and get a higher voucher than you can book for more people/kids

Just submitted my app for CIP3. Got the "We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible."

First call to the status line and I am 30 days. I am usually good for a 2am approval in 24 - 48 hours LOL

I’m going for CIP #3 on 9/13 - I’ve been lucky with instant approvals so far, but I’m expecting to utilize the status line this time around!

All of the arcade games are free since the parks are closed tonight and they’re doing a dance party in the lobby! If we had kids we would be all over that lol. We plan to go back to the arcade around 10 pm because it was packed
A tropical storm hit when we stayed at Kidani in 2009 (had never seen such low crowds for a couple days! had never gotten so wet in the parks!) and the arcade was free. Our kids were 16, 14, and 9 and had the best time

My dryer is dead. The repair dude (who we trust) gave me the side-eye about the state of my same-age washing machine. So now I am shopping online for a new set. Of course, Costco has the best price for the best machines, according to Consumer Reports. And of course, I am working on an Amex MSR

There were a lot of good sales over the weekend. Our dryers on its last legs. We'll probably wait until Black Friday unless it dies before that.

and the sales (at least the ones here) are going until the 11th! I was afraid that we missed the opportunity. So we have plenty of time to choose a new set lol Thankfully I don't use the dryer much during the summer!
