No more lotion...

Put me in the carry-on luggage brigade.
There are a lot of us particularly those who have traveled for business and learned to translate that into vacation travel.
I no longer carry anything that I know a hotel stocks in their bathroom's amenities except for the razor blade that the man prefers from home. So much easier on my toilette bag which used to take up way too much luggage space. I'll be sorry if they no longer carry lotion in the CL rooms but since I already use a tin of shea butter for my hair it'll just do double duty for my skin. Hopefully, if Disney lessens the room amenities it'll lessen the rooms price or give something else of true value.

We were in a CL room at AKL last week (DVC floor) and when we requested lotion, the housekeeper said that they had a limited leftover supply at the resorts but once those were gone, they were gone. So, I don’t think it is planned to be supplied on a request basis going forward.

Did the bathroom still have the sunscreen on the toiletry tray?

I’m curious, too. The club level rooms provide all kinds of other amenities— sunscreen (which I sometimes find in CL rooms and other times not), aloe gel, foot rub, and mouthwash. I’m wondering if they are intending to do away with these as they are also made from plastic? I love these additional toiletries; it’s part of what makes the CL experience stand out to me from booking a regular room (obviously there are others, but I enjoy the additional things in the bathroom). If they only remove the lotion, however, it seems funny...there is aloe gel and sunscreen and foot rub and mouthwash, but Disney is no longer offering just the plain lotion, lol.

So bummed to see this thread. Just running out of my last little bottle from previous trips and going back in a couple weeks. First trip not doing DVC in years, so was looking forward to daily replacements, to squirrel alway...I mean use. I’ll just have to give in and buy a bottle if I want it I guess. Loves those little bottles for my purse/car etc.

Wash little bottles w/ full caps out, rinse w/ a little vinegar water, and refill with the product of your choice. I still do that for DGD's travel face cleaning kit since unless it's on sale, the ones Clinique sells are too expensive.

Have a ton of vinegar, since use it as a cleaning product in our house, so will give this a try :)

16 pages about a 2 oz bottle of lotion... do you have nothing else to do ?? This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard Sorry but can't you just bring your own?

We stay at YC. The t.p. situation at the hotel & parks has annoyed me for years—- thin & narrow! I just can’t make myself pack my own tho. :rotfl2:
I will second that tp situation - I always figured it must be all DVC but I never notice at BLT and always notice at the beach club :poop:

How is her experience "flat out wrong"? She did not have tissues and was not provided them upon asking. With the way Disney resorts are going, this is not far fetched at all.

How rude to correct someone's account by telling them not to give their experience.
One lazy CM does not equal removing tissues from all rooms.
I do not take back what I said and I stand by my assurance they are not removing tissues from the resorts.
Besides, maybe read what I said. I never said any particular poster didn't have tissues. Didn't call out anyone period.

What she said... :rotfl:
And no, I can't bring my own. It's not allowed in a carry-on, which is what I travel with.
Liquids 3.4oz and below are allowed. If you mean your container is more than that sure though that doesn't equate to you not being able to bring your own. It can mean you need to have it in a container (which they sell empty containers) that meets the requirement.

I got a 4pack 'TSA approved' style kit (meaning they meet the ounce rule) and I've put sunscreen, aloe vera, and shampoo in 3 of the bottles. The 4th bottle is filled with sunscreen and was sent with my husband to CA for his field assignment though going by his burn/tan lines he's not using the sunscreen as often as I would like lol.

I like the lotion too but to get upset over it is a bit over the top. Bring some, or buy it in the gift shop. Not a big deal.

It is not about the lotion. I am sure every single person on this thread can afford to go to the gift shop and purchase whatever toiletries Disney decides to no longer give.

To me it is the fact that Disney continues to charge 5 Star prices, and give 2 Star service for their rooms.

Many of us travel extensively for business. We know what high end service is like. It's not what Disney is providing.

The lotion is just the latest in a string of events where Disney is basically writing SUCKER on the foreheads of its guests.

It's funny, when you travel to other countries, Japan specifically, the amenities in a hotel room rival anything you would find in the U.S.. Lotion, Facial Wipes, Toner, Moisturizer specific for face, Body Gel, Luffa, Shampoo, Conditioner, Wood handle beautiful toothbrush, Ear swabs, Cotton balls, Cotton Pads, Comb, Brush, Mouthwash, the list goes on and on. I was shocked by this. I spoke with the General Manager of the hotel and mentioned how surprised I was to see this. I asked him if their cost for this was high as people usually take everything. He said that it only happens when Americans travel. Most people use what they need and don't take what they don't need. At the Hotel I watch over, when inspecting rooms, you see people suitcases filled with shampoo/lotion/conditioner and they keep asking for more.

It reminds me of going to a buffet in Thailand. Most people were sensible with what they took. At my hotel, people take plates and plates of food only to throw it away. I've never understood why some people see free and even if they don't need it, take as much as they can. Hmmmm....
