From the Things to Know on the D23 Expo site -
Overnight Queues
While online reservations guarantee entry to certain sessions, you may line up early to be among the first guests to enter the Show Floor. Overnight queues for general event entry, access to the Show Floor, and Hall D23 will begin the day prior. For admission on Friday, August 23, queues will begin on Thursday, August 22, at 2 p.m. For admission on Saturday, August 24, and Sunday, August 25, queues will begin at 7 p.m. the evening prior. Please do not arrive for overnight queuing early, as queues will not start prior to these times. Main entry for overnight queues is directly off Katella Avenue at the Arena Plaza on the north end of the convention center.
Please do not bring anything that cannot be easily stored in a backpack or smaller-size bag, and please do not leave items unattended. A concession stand offering a limited menu will be open for your convenience. No re-entry is allowed, and all members of your party must be present (no holding space in line for others to join later).
So... going of this information... am I correct in assuming there WON’T be any reservations distributed for the morning Hall D23 panels? Or do they just mean that overnight queues will be available in addition to reservations? Or does anybody really know those facts yet?? We’ll be in the parks Thursday night and the nights after the expo... we ain’t cutting that out just so we can queue randomly in the afternoon of the day before or some silly junk. Does the arrive around 2 AM time still hold true for the Friday morning Legends panel? What about the other day’s morning’s big sessions... does both Saturday and Sunday require showing up at 2 AM or so as well? Or do those days allow for a bit later of arrival?? Ugh... fun...
According to the app, the Legends (Friday), Studios (Sat), and Parks (Sun) all have Gold Member queues and take Stage Pass. I think the overnight queues will be available to those that wish to use them.
Legends can be hit or miss, but in my experience from the last two Expos a 2am arrival is not needed for Legends unless you want front row center. In 2015, the basement line up space for Legends was a lot but not 100% full and would not fill Hall D23. In 2017, I was surprised at how few people lined up overnight for Legends, there were a lot more people in the show floor line for Friday morning. I arrived around 4:30-5:00 on Friday mornings.So... going of this information... am I correct in assuming there WON’T be any reservations distributed for the morning Hall D23 panels? The Parks panel is a much different story, that one needed the 2am arrival last Expo.
This is the first time the Movies panel has been on Sunday morning, so hard to gauge a time you’ll need to be there. But is is usually a very popular panel.
Yea I probably do...I don’t attend either of those panels as they are insanely popular.DO you have those last two reversed? The Parks panels in the past have been in the afternoon and have not needed early queuing. The Movies panel was always Saturday morning and still is this year.

I'm going to line up to visit the Disney social responsibility pavilion.
??
Hi @maichan - while using your spreadsheet to help come up with some sort of schedule, I notice what may be a time change for the Tarzan panel on Sunday. The app is now showing it from 5:45 -7:00, pushed back 15 min from original time.I updated the Google schedule I started with the latest slew of panels. I added detailed descriptions as comments so if you hover over a panel block, you can see its full description. I'll continue to update this schedule as more info is released, but I opened up the permissions so you should be able to create a copy of this sheet if you'd like to use it as a starting point for your own custom schedule.

Thanks for the heads up. I've updated my spreadsheet accordingly. That is new this year, so hard fo say. But since it is on the show floor, I expect will be like the Center Stage. The Stage has a large open area in front of an elevated stage where people can hang out or sit on the floor. The panels are very informal.So... has any further information come about with the side panels announced for the Disney+ pavilion? It doesn’t say anything about those in the reservation guidelines so from what I gather, it’ll be something you just stroll up to and watch? Or are there seats?? Just wondering how queueing would work for these if they even are going to have lines... I’m talking about the panels like the Animation one, the Imagineering one and the Jeff Goldblum one. Those ones. Not sure how to write up my schedule when it comes to these. If they’re really just walk ups, then I suppose we’ll just stroll by a bit before they’re scheduled, I guess?? Ugh! Stress planning.
Thanks! I found the Iwerks signing from your spreadsheet, had missed that in the app. Thanks for the heads up. I've updated my spreadsheet accordingly. Also, while poking around the app, I noticed a few other schedule updates since the announcements:
- Disney on Broadway signing added on Friday 10:30 - 11:30 at Talent Central
- Bret Iwan Meet & Greets on Friday 5:30 - 6 and Sunday 6 - 6:30 at Talent Central
- Don Iwerks signing added on Sunday 10:30 - 11:30 at Talent Central
- New panelists added to The Little Mermaid Celebration including Ron Clements, Mark Henn, and Ruben Aquino
Looking at the map, I realize something is missing this year, I don’t see an Imagineering area anywhere. That has always been a must see for me.I thought I'd share the printable show floor map I cobbled together from screenshots from the app. I know it helps me to see everything laid out together.
Are you referring to the Disney Parks pavilion? They'll be showcasing the EPCOT makeover and Marvel Land.Looking at the map, I realize something is missing this year, I don’t see an Imagineering area anywhere. That has always been a must see for me.
The VoluntEARS activity is actually really fun and popular. I do it at least 2 days every expo.
That could be it - thanks. In the past it’s been called the Imagineering Pavilionl. Are you referring to the Disney Parks pavilion? They'll be showcasing the EPCOT makeover and Marvel Land.
They will still be there - look under Shopping and D23 Expo Emporium in the app for a list of all of those types of vendors,Am I missing something, or do we not have all of the fan-type vendors like we used to have? Different blogs, travel sites, and pin sellers used to have a section.
