Ok, new to the Swagbucks train, but trying to stack it with the Amex Offer at BBY. Can I get some help?

After working well twice last week (1,000 points posted), I swung by my nearest BBY during lunch to pick up another $50 DGC. First the SB app wouldn’t generate a QR code and took me straight to the BBY website. I log in to the SB mobile website instead, where I’m able to generate a QR code. When the cashier tried to scan the code (several times), he said he was getting a not authorized message. He called over a manager, who figured it was because it’s a third-party code that doesn’t work on gift cards. I didn’t push it any further since I’ll still get 10% off, and now this cashier probably thinks he can’t scan SB for gift cards. Checked my receipt, and there’s no SB number tracked.

Any idea what went wrong?

Sounds like Swagbucks wasn’t communicating with Best Buy. I remember that happening with Chase Pay and getting the same message. The app won’t generate the 500 bonus code so that was normal. Unfortunately this will only stack with Amex $300 offer for $5 more. I believe this Amex offer requires $300 or more in a single purchase and you can only use 1 SB code per purchase (and per day now). If they get the same message again and you are doing the offer for the SB don’t complete your purchase (unless you get tracking notification from SB on that last purchase but I’m guessing the systems weren’t communicating so that wouldn’t be possible).

ETA: my Amex offer definitely says minimum $300 purchase.

The BBY cashiers where I shop always scans the GC first before I can offer up my QR code (same with Shopkick), but I’ve never encountered this problem before.

I’ve done it both ways. The order doesn’t matter.
ETA: ooh- but it does have to be done before the payment process is started as stated above!

same here. They have scanned my GC and then SB or first SB then GC as long as it is done before payment process. The guys at my BB know this and at times when they try to scan it it doesnt work and they have to go back rto their previous screen. I always tell them before hand that i am having A QR code scanned and put my phone down for them to see the code and scan when they like.

Darn! I bought a $50 GC yesterday thinking that I could just do it 6 times in conjunction with the SB bonus. I'll have to reconsider things now.

You are allowed to have more than one SB account per household, not sure how many but I've seen some post that parents and their two kids had an acct. I would think that one person going in with two different qr codes, one from the DW acct and one from DH acct, paying with different cc, would be the same as them going in Together and each doing their own. That's how DD28 and I did the other day( we do have diff addresses, names, and phone). Still following the rules I think, one person/acct per day.

I am not an expert, only been using SB for maybe 4 or 5 months, but this is what I was thinking. I'm not going to get a SB for our underage kids, but I would think a DH & DW would be fine???

My amex offer says spend $300+ in purchass in one or more transactions in store or online by 9/17.
So I’m assuming 6 $50 transactions will work.

My offer reads the same way. So, I guess that if I make 6 $50 purchases on separate days with the SB QR code, then I should also get the $30 statement credit, too?

Yep, if it says the magic words "one or more transactions" you are good to make multiple as long the transaction date is by 9/17. I've done a few of these and multiple transactions worked when it has that wording.

Wish I had that offer. I now got 10% back at office supplies, department store and grocery store. Is there anything i can do with that.
I also have the BB&B for spend 25 i think get some points can't remember how many.

If your grocery store offers fuel perks, you can purchase Disney GCs there. 10% back and discounted gasoline!

Office supply stores like Staple sell GCs and I'm pretty sure they sell Disney ones. No extra discount but if you participate in their rewards program it might get you something extra so that you can use it toward school supplies that go on sale.

I'm not sure what department stores might sell Disney GCs. Maybe Kohls? I haven't shopped there in a while, so I'm not sure.

I have a negative balance at SB from when they posted double points on Best Buy. I understand that completely, however it shows TWO different negative balances which I don't get. -2,001 and -4020, the last does not make sense nor does it add up to my spread sheet only the first one does.

Yesterday, I took my $100 Visa and QR code to BB and purchased a $50 Panera GC, the receipt acknowledges SB code as usual but looking at my account no points have been added nor do any show in Pending.

I also used the Am. Express offer at BB&B and received an email from them confirming my discount had been applied. I purchased a $25 Disney GC.

I left my house at 4:30 and returned at 9:30 completing the above and major returns at various stores, it was a long evening and I was wiped out!

The only grocery store that offers fuel rewards is Safeway. The only problem is you use your phone # to get the discount when fueling. Everyone in my family uses my # so they always take my points. at almost $4 a gallon I might have to put a stop to it. lol

I think Kohls might be the only one. Not sure if they sell Disney Gift cards. there is one in my area I'll check it out on my lunch.

Best Buy usually takes a few days. You won’t see the points today. I got my shop and earn email Tuesdat for a Sunday purchase and the 500 points posted today. The 100 points don’t post for 32 days

I made another purchase last night and haven’t gotten anything yet, I’m sure I’ll get the email and points sometime in the next week.

Not sure if you mean not eligible for the SB or for the aMEX offer, but GC other that BB cards are eligible for the SB points. Usually it means you can not buy same store gift cards in this case Best Buy GC and get points.

I need so much more coffee... OK, so if I do 6 $50 transactions that would result in the $30 statement credit. It certainly reads like that... @Lain So then math on stacking with SB would be $300 - $30 statement credit -$30 swagbucks = $240 (before best buy rewards) so basically 20% off? Well, now I like this!

Do you have the 10% Amex offer for Staples? If so they might stack. Most office supply stores and grocery stores sell gift cards. Some BB&B sell gift cards. Mine doesn't but I commonly visit an area where they do so I use Amex offers for BB&B at that store and just purchase 3rd party gift cards.
