Trial Club Level Fastpass+ Purchase Program Planning & Discussion

It definitely is poor planning. An upcharge booking window blindly opens without even syncing with your onsite reservation. It was probably easier to open it that way...that’s why it’s based on your checkout date rather than a “stay.” CM plugs in that date and everything before that date is open for booking.
So... my 90-day window for Trip #2 will open on 8/7, one day AFTER I start my Trip #1. Unless they fix this, will I have to wait until I'm back home and have used up all my regular Trip #1 FPs before I can book the regular FPs for Trip #2?

If they don’t fix it then yes, you’d need to wait until you have 4 days of FPs remaining for Stay#1 to book your 3 CL FP days...if you’re only purchasing 3 days of Extras.

And now, I’ve done way too much math for today. ;)

LOL!! I hear ya’ — thanks!! :)

@MickeyMinnieMom : You’ll have the same issue that I had, unfortunately- unless they fix it beforehand. Maybe the more times it happens and the more guests it effects, they will look at fixing the problem. One can only hope! Please report back with your experiences.
Absolutely — assuming the pilot is still running by then, I’ll definitely report back! Thanks so much for sharing your account! :)

Thanks for the explanation! You explained it better than I could have. The DSS CM said this was the first instance of this issue happening (not sure if she meant in her own personal experience). I asked if this trial program became a permanent offering, would they be able to override the system for AP holders so this wouldn’t happen and she wasn’t sure. She did speak with the Team Leader and said they made a note of it to bring up to their supervisors. It’s always fun to be a guniea pig, LOL! Even with this unexpected “glitch”, it was still a pleasant phone call and we’re very excited about the extra FP’s for the trip.

@hiroMYhero : How does this work with other ticket media (non-APs)? As long as there is a valid ticket on the account, you’re good to go? I just don’t understand it for AP holders...it’s almost punishing those with multiple trips.

This happened to us, too, when we booked for our upcoming trip in mid-April. That was at the beginning of the offering, so clearly they haven't fixed the issue yet and I wonder if they really can. :( I'm guessing they aren't touching the tech to really support this until they know it will be successful so it's a bit of a bandaid to even offer this program at this point.

@OhioWDWDuo - If it makes you feel any better, I had the same max FP issue on DW’s account when we booked the program. At the time, she had several upcoming stays, including a mix of on and off-site. I was offered the same solution - call back after she used her next FPs so the system would open up.

Your example is one of the reasons I tell folks this program - in its current form - is nowhere near ready for prime time. The tech would need to be tweaked quite a bit before it could be a solid offering for a larger audience.

BTW, are you at Poly for 7/4? If so - just watch from there. Forget the dessert party! :-)

We’re at Poly for the 3rd (moving over to BC on the 4th). Are the fireworks just as great from the Poly beach? We’ll be with extended family who worry that the show won’t be as impressive if we’re outside MK. Thanks for your advice!

It IS more impressive in MK, from Poly you miss the Castle show. It's beautiful, but not as immersive.

I doubt I'm the first to ask and I tried to search for the answer to this question but didn't have any luck finding the right phrase, so sorry in advance for the repeat question.

If your CL stay is less than 3 days are you able to purchase for length of stay?

Angi, the Extras can be purchased for checkout day and the last question that needs to be confirmed is if a 2-night stay qualifies. I believe @GADisneyDad14 will attempt to confirm this. They didn’t have a confirmed answer when he compiled the info in the FP FAQ Addendum post.

I was told that a two night stay qualified because you could book your checkout day as your third day.

I called DSS today to ask about split stays.
I have an upcoming split stay with half club level and half not. I asked: if I switch my non CL stay to CL, could I still just book 3 days of extra FPs and spread them out across the 2 CL reservations? They told me that I could.
Just FYI for anyone with a split stay!!

Did they confirm you would have 2 different booking windows - one for each stay?

Sorry! I didn’t asked that specifically. I did ask if I would still call them to book on the same date that I had previously been told ( 90 days from check out?) and he said yes and told me the date.

Thanks! Others with a Split Stay had to call twice as it’s 2 separate 90-day windows.

Did he give you the date that corresponds to your Stay#1 or to Stay#2?

Ah, ok. Thank y'all. Problem arises when Day 1 is arrival after, or at parks close. It looses a lot of appeal that way, since you will loose an entire day you have to pay for.

The date corresponded to my stay #2.
They told me it would be two different windows unless I just waited until the 90 day mark of checkout of the second stay.
Thank you both. Waiting until checkout of Stay#2 does place you at a slight disadvantage if they are capping the nighttime entertainment booking.

It sounds like it won’t hurt to call and book 90 days out from checkout day #1 and then again for Stay#2.
