OKW buildings 30-33 are occupied as of today!

I can imagine, like another poster said my legs being bruised from walking into the corner of those beds! I like that you will now be able to store luggage under them though.

Claire :)

That was my first thought when I saw those beds. Ouch! :)

Which means no freshening of hair and makeup if someone is in the shower. Obviously whoever designed that room has never traveled with teens.

The restroom is inspired by 50 Shades of Grey. Flooring is one shade, cabinet is another shade, walls are another shade.

We were in a studio for one night last week (still in the old style of rooms). There was a full-length mirror on the outside of the bathroom door. So when the bathroom is occupied, you can still access a mirror. The one over the sink had horrible lighting anyway.

I don't mind the 1-bedrooms, but the studios look like they're missing something. I like the raised beds so you can put suitcases underneath though!

I hadn't posted that but had the exact same thought. It seems sparsely decorated. Not all walls are shown so maybe there's more to it but the picture between the 2 beds is undersized for one thing as all the pictures seem to be. It makes it appear pretty empty.

Even something like a rug on the floor or a painting above the beds would help and make it look more put together. I don't like the carpet much either- surprised they didn't go with a wooden floor like the newer refurbed rooms. Might help it.

I too, was surprised about the carpet ... I thought there would be wooden floors like the recent refurbs at other resorts

Claire :)

They are using the exact same grey floor tile and white subway tile in every dvc bathroom now. I don’t necessarily dislike it, but the homogeneous quality among the resort baths is obvious and seems cheap.

Not a fan of the Studios.

Ugh, I hate the wood frame beds in the studios. They make the beds painfully hard. If every resort gets these now I am going to have a problem.

The original beds in the Studios were wood frame with box springs and mattress, then with the last refurbishment, they went to the sealed frame under the bed, and now they are back to a wood frame, with no box springs. And while comfortable, I was always bruising myself on the corners of the original beds. Probably will do the same with these.

Does anyone know if any more buildings have been started? I like the turtle pond area (right by the pool) and hoping that they get done and I get allocated there!

I saw those emails but I wasn’t sure if it was just the pool area being updated or if they were doing all those villas. Would be fab if they gave turtle shack a bigger area and menu! P
Probably won’t be lucky enough to get that area if it’s all been done as everyone will be requesting it!

To be honest. we don't know if the nearby resort buildings will be down during that time as well, but it would make sense to take down the whole pool/lodging area (Bldgs 41, 42, 43 and 44) since the entire resort is going through a rehab, and most folks would not want to see the walls and noise associated with the work at the pool during their vacation. I would think that the lodging buildings on the other side of the traffic circle and the buildings actually on Turtle Pond road (bldgs 30 to 40)would be open, though.

Thanks, it’s those buildings I was hoping for. We were in 42 last time and it was great!
