Hi Everyone,
Has anyone done the hot air balloon at Disney Springs??? I'm interested to hear about it!!!

Please let me know your thoughts, what you liked, duration of the line...Hoping to do this during our next trip!

we did this on our trip last July. It was OK, nothing super exciting, but was neat to see the surrounding area. When we went there was no line, we just had to wait for the balloon to come back down. You have freedom to walk around the perimeter. I was glad I did it, but not something I would repeat.

Is the basket have something around it. DS is 6 and I doubt tall enough to see over the basket. Nervous about DH holding him...

My DD is desperate to do this. I noticed that if you buy your tickets off of groupon it is almost 1/2 off so we will do that

If you look on the Disney website whether or not it is flying is based on wind speed and weather. You have to purchase the groupon 24 hours in advance...So, you could be saving half but then not be able to use it at all :sad1::sad::sad1::sad:

It is a metal cage, not a basket. Tickets are $20.

And correct about the wind. You can buy tickets on Groupon (if their available at the time), but if it's too windy to fly there's no refund with the Groupon tickets

I am planning on doing this in June for the picture taking opportunities but sadly out of the other 7 people in my group only the 7 (almost 8) year old is brave enough to come with me. Sigh

We did this a couple of years ago with vouchers from Groupon (I think we got tickets for the 3 of us for $25).

It was good/fun to do, views were nice, neat to see all of the construction in Disney Springs from up high. We enjoyed the ride, but not something I have to "run" back and do anytime soon.

Everytime I have tried to do this, the wind was too much. I was in line for the next ride and they shut it down on me ARGH! Will keep trying

We did this a few years ago. We went as soon as they opened one morning. There was no line. They let us stay up really as long as we wanted because there was no line. We actually asked them to bring us down. It was fun, but not something I really want to do again. If the kids ask to do it at some point, I'm not opposed to doing it again. Since only my oldest was born when we did it.

I had wanted to go on it for years but DH would never come with me. Every time I walked by it, I would ask him. I finally went on it with my dd 4 years ago. I would go on it if you have any interest in trying it. Gotta do it once!!! :)

My daughter and I ate at the Boathouse in December and were watching the balloon going up and down several times...we were amazed at how quickly the ride was over, maybe 12-15 minutes total time...

I believe on busy days, you are up for 6-8 minutes.

My family of 5, including 3 teenage boys, loved this experience! I surprised them one morning - they thought we were just going for breakfast.
