Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Just wondering... is AKL club level unpopular? My husband asked about it tonight, and I’ve never read a review on here about it!

Help! Please! Again. LOL!
I know I’ve asked before, but the reality of booking (vs. simply contemplating booking) my December 2018 Bounceback is setting in- because I’m leaving in less than two weeks for my GF SL CL stay!!!!!
We were going to do WL Standard CL for December 2018 (had booked this but cancelled since we’re so indecisive), but we are also considering CR TPV CL, or even going back to GF SL CL. RPC TPV is a dream, but it’s probably a bit more than we’d like to spend.
**Important factors for us:**
- sleep 5 or sleep 4 with bunk bed option
- quieter resort
- full balcony (fireworks view a plus as kiddos go to bed early, but hubby and I do not)
- convenience to parks/ good transportation - GREAT concierge staff and club lounge offerings (I’m a sucker for good customer service!)!
Please weigh in, and thank you VERY much in advance!!! :lovestruc
Just so you know, once you book a bounceback you can continue to change your dates, resorts and categories provided there’s availability. Many more months to debate the right decision. :hyper2:

Love AKL and the AKL lounge. We find it to be the most comfy of the lounges. Like @GADisneyDad14, we pick the location we want to be in based on when we’re going and what we’re doing. Wouldn’t do F&W and not stay at an Epcot resort. Summer, Poly great to chill. We’ll be back next month and the only place we wanted to be was AKL. Even though I found discounts for other resorts, I sucked up rack to have AKL.

I booked it last year, but once I found out the offerings, I changed hotels. I’m totally not adventurous with eating, so it definitely wasn’t for me.

My most favorite CL app of all time was CR’s short rib in a little egg roll wrapper. No veggies just meat. I swear they make want to book CR just to eat those again.

Hmmm - is that a current offering? Sounds awesome. I don’t think I remember those, although none of my recent CR stays have been long enough for a full menu rotation so have likely missed a bunch.

It’s been many years since were at CR so they very well may be gone. They were the best though.

I haven’t been, but I don’t think it’s unpopular. AKL CL reviews and trip reports around here tend to ebb and flow - with sometimes long droughts in between. It doesn’t seem to get the volume of DISers that others do. Or else everyone is just lurking and keeping how awesome AKL CL is to themselves! 8-)

Now that my DD is getting older, I’m ‘trying’ to find a way to get there sometime in 2018!

Love AKL CL. We are a couple of adventurous foodies- and there are a wide variety of choices on a rotating basis choices at night. Add to the mix a large AP discount percentage for a savanna view room during value season, and it's hard to beat. The downside is distance to the parks- but we drive our own car, so not a big deal. We are at BWI CL for F&G this spring, though- so sometimes we stay where the stuff is that we're going to be spending lots of time at.

@GoGoBeans , LOL! Indecision is my biggest enemy right now! I would love to make the choice and be done with it! But it's good to know I can always go back and make changes- thank you for this information! :)
Also, it's great to know you love AKL CL so much you'd pay rack rate for it (that's where we're at this year for GF SL CL, but I'm set on getting a discount for next year's trip!). It makes sense to book a resort closest to the park/area in which you want to spend most of your time!

I don't think it is unpopular. Some are put off by the fact that the lounge is not close to the CL rooms...it doesn't bother me. AKL CL also offers some of the best Savannah views. We love it!

@deide71 , thank you for your input! I'm sure the views are amazing! :)

@mrsap , we're right there with you! Though I may be a bit more of a foodie, my kids are DEFINITELY NOT adventurous when it comes to food! Perhaps the AKL CL offerings wouldn't be a match for them. Thank you for your feedback! :)

@GADisneyDad14 , yes, I think it would be a better match for when my children are a bit older! My husband keeps pushing to try it! AKL looks like a gorgeous, peaceful, fantastically themed resort. I am hesitant as I know we will spend the majority of our time at MK (including Christmas party). Thank you for your reply! :)

@Happy_2_B , thank you for your feedback! My husband and I may have a bit more of that 'foodie' side to us, but despite our best efforts, our kids decidedly do not! So glad to hear you enjoy AKL CL!

I think most people's issue with AKL CL is not about the CL itself, but more about the location of the resort. Some people love the isolation and bus transport there, but many people prefer a monorail, boat, or walking path to parks, which would put AKL at the bottom of the CL choices.

We stayed there in April of this year, but only for 2 nights. We REALLY enjoyed our experience there. I thought I would mind not having the lounge on the same floor as my room, but I ended up not minding at all! We were not too far from a staircase that led up to the lounge, though, so our room was in a good location. If you have a room more in the savanna, then you'll have a better savanna view but you'll also have further to walk to get to the lounge.

We thought the lounge food was good, but yes you'd probably need to be a bit willing to try new things. No bunny stew for me, but I did try the other things offered.

Only thing we didn't love is the non-daybed. We are only a family of 4, but with 2 teens so we really need that daybed to spread out for sleeping. But that's not really a CL issue, just more a resort issue.

We left there saying we'll definitely return someday. For us, though, we wouldn't be able to stay longer than 3 nights because of the sleeping issue and bus transport to parks. So we'd do a split stay and start at AKL CL and then move to any monorail resort or else BC.

I did a akl cl stay past January. I loved the food!!! The lounge was spacious and unique looking. The rooms were nice. Transportation was fast. The pool was nice (yep I swam in Jan).

Why am I not going back anytime soon? Just a family quirk. DD and I NEED to see the castle from resort grounds. I would def go back again. If I get mom to want to go back sometime I may take her there. The animals were plentiful to see from the balcony.

Slight downside is the lounge on 6th floor and std cl rooms on the 4th. However we didn't have a problem with that for our group.
