Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Hi guys! I was hoping someone might be able to Help me out with a couple questions.
I was wondering about the chef in the RPC lounge. Does anybody know typically how many days he comes in, and what some of the evening offerings are?

Also, do you know typically when rooms are assigned? Is it the day of check-in, or would they know sooner? Thank you!

@mickeynut1 is correct on the rooms, they are assigned roughly 3-5ish days out. They won’t tell you your room # until it’s ready that day though. I’ve checked-in several times before my room has been ready... the CM can see the room assignment but they won’t tell you.

During that time period, is there a chance your room could be upgraded, or is it already per-determined if you'll get "Pixie Dust" by that point?

I posted this information in response to someone questioning availability at WL CL next Spring and wanted to share it here, too, for those who love WL like we do. (Yes very limited posts from me, but I read the threads almost daily and am thankful to others for sharing their insight/information!)

We returned last Friday night from a wonderful week at WL CL (exceptional staff, variety of food selections and excellent transportation experience). This was our third time staying here Club Level and it exceeded our expectations from other visits. As a result we decided to switch our February reservation from Yacht Club CL to WL CL. Oddly when I went online to make the change I immediately noticed that rather than "Club Level" the Disney website said "Club Level Access" for standard rooms.....hmm, that's new. I asked one of the CL cast members that evening and he said he would find out for me (he even went on the website while I was at the desk and saw the new notation). The next day I went back to ask and he said upon inquiring he was told that the Lodge rooms would be undergoing refurbishment/construction (the cast members had not been previously told about this so he was glad I had asked). The 7th floor and the 6th floor will be first out of inventory (due to potential noise) for the remodel so guests can book other rooms in the lodge and have access to the newly remodeled club lounge - meaning that a WL CL stay will require you to use the elevator to access club level amenities while work is being done. That was enough to cause us to leave our Feb. stay at Yacht Club CL and we will return to WL after this construction. I don't know how much is being announced or if a timeline has been confirmed, but that is the information I received from CL staff. I'm sure it will be a disappointment to many others like us, but, truth be told, the Lodge rooms do need some TLC so we are hoping for something fresh in the future.

Best news ever! Thanks for sharing. We'd love to try WL CL again, but the rooms just didn't cut it for us, so we welcome any sort of change and update.

During that time period, is there a chance your room could be upgraded, or is it already per-determined if you'll get "Pixie Dust" by that point?

Really anything could happen. Any Pixie Dust is likely pre-determined when they first assign rooms, or it could happen later. The “Tetris” puzzle changes a lot - rooms might have an maintenance issue, people change plans, etc. - so stuff happens.

Just as an example that is somewhat, although not entirely relevant to your question, on one of my trips earlier this year I got a call from a Poly room assignor that morning (I was still at home packing!) and he explained that they originally had me in a TPV room that accommodated my request (third floor), but given a maintenance issue that room had to be taken offline and they weren’t going to be able to put me in another third floor room (all others were full). So point being, even though rooms do get slotted in advance, anything can happen.

Hope that helps!

I tried doing a PM, but I can't tell if it's been read. Could someone add me to RPC for Feb 22-March 2nd 2018?

That’s a nice long RPC stay at at great time of year. My Feb 2016 RPC trip was right around those dates and I was just looking at our pics the other day... I have so many pics of DS swimming practically alone in the pools, alone at the marshmallow roast, alone at the pool games, etc. It was a great time of year to go, in my opinion.

Have fun!

So after so many CL trips I just had 2 back to back non cl trips. How did I like it?

GF 9/1-4 with DH:

For breakfast one morning we did GFC, 1morning he fetched coffee from gaspies and last day we had breakfast at gaspies. I preferred the restaurant vs gaspies.

For mid day: it was food and wine so didn't miss lounge we were at Epcot.

Evening: 1st night we changed our minds due to rain and ate at Kona/poly. 2nd night at Narcoossee's which was lovely! Last night at Cosmic Rays in MK.

Since he is an early bird we were to bed early most nights. I watched ewp from the boat one night and fireworks too.

We did get treats and coffee one afternoon from gaspies and sat in the room with them.

We sat on our balcony and enjoyed the view of the courtyard pool.

Overall the location was ok. Although great for our dinner night because it was raining and we didn't have far to go.

We enjoyed the pool too.

Going home day with no lounge we took boat to mk then transferred to boat to wl and had lunch at WCC.

So we had to do a bit more with the app making ressies but it was nice that you were not confined to GF for food and beverages.

Also had coffee in Mizners with dessert fetched from gaspies prior to ME.

Next was poly with dd and bf 10/13-15.

We arrived and had lunch at cosmic rays first thing. After bf arrived I took his to pool and we had mai tai's. I brought dd hers back later. I enjoyed the view with wine.

That night was MNSSHP. We had fp's for 4-7. We came back to poly via boat and ate appies with adult beverages at Tambu lounge. Took a quick rest in our room then went back to party.

Next morning we had room service at 7am . That was very nice.

We spent day at Epcot so no snacks or drinks needed from a lounge we had what we wanted there.

That night we ate at Brown Derby's outdoor lounge bar. We all loved that. DD had the Marg flight!

Sunday was going home day. Dd and I ran to MK while bf slept in then used the cabana I rented at oasis pool. (pix on poly thread)

We had lunch at kona and the kids got adult beverages at the pool. I grabbed a going home dole whip at 3pm and our ME was at 3:45.

Again I love Hawaii but we had lots of great food and drinks on OUR OWN TIMETABLE.

Next stop however I have bwi lv cl split with Gf RPC . Taking my Mom and I want to spoil her since she may not be up to any/many more trips.

Thanks for posting this! I have WL CL booked for January 14 - 20 and just looked at CL availability for those dates. Sure enough, it now says "club level access" instead of just club level. I'm going to have to seriously think about switching resorts; I don't do construction well. :-/

I was hoping someone with more RPC experience would answer, but I'll chime in anyway. We were in RPC for 3 nights (split stay with the BC CL that trip) and the chef was there 2 out of 3 nights. One night he was serving arancini (sp?) and it was amazing and sadly we only had one each since we were trying out BoG for the first time that night and weren't really all that hungry. The other night it was some sort of meat (I think lamb tenderloin, but I'm not sure) with mashed potatoes. The dishes looked tiny but were filling and people definitely went back for seconds. This was on top of the regular appetizers they had on the counter. We were there for 4 nights in 2016 (March) and this past summer was a BIG improvement over what we had that trip. Seems like they keep changing things up to see where they can save money (huge food cutbacks on that trip) and if they get enough negative feedback they change it again.

We will be eating at Narcoossee’s prior to check in to GF. Was wondering if they might tell me what building we will be in so we can go and scope it out while we were there. Thanks for your response.

I think from your signature you have cl for gf in November? Is that the trip/room you are asking about?

If you have outer building cl that is Sugar Loaf. If rpc thats the main building. Hope that helps. If not ask me via pm .

We booked a 2 br suite, so not sure what building. It seems like there's a couple, so we thought maybe they'd tell us if we ask (since we'd be there to eat at Narcoossees). Not going to ask for room number.

It’s possible, but you might need some help from :darth: for that one.

(Sorry, couldn’t help myself)

Grrr... it is posts like these that are going to convince me to book RPC again sometime soon. My only RPC trip was Feb 2016, right before your March 2016 trip, and during the “cutbacks” going on at the time. The food at the time was OK, but in all honesty I was pretty unimpressed and it didn’t match the ‘hype’ that these boards tend to suggest. But since that time the reviews and pics seem to be pretty positive, including your experience this summer. Seems like the food offerings are totally different.

Somehow I can convince myself that paying up for a Poly CL TPV room makes sense but I keep having trouble pulling the trigger on RPC again. Maybe sometime in 2018??

Thanks for posting about your RPC experiences! :wave2:

If March '16 was our only experience we never would have returned. It was pretty sad up there with all the cutbacks and really not a good value for what we paid. BC CL on that trip was so much better food wise and about 1/2 the cost, too. On the plus side, we had sailed with DCL in between the two resort stays, and we really were tired of all the food so at least we didn't mind as much as we normally would have. I like RPC but still think it doesn't really live up the hype on the boards. And I love the views from Poly Hawaii TPV.

Oh ya I forgot!

Well I would walk around and see what you might like then perhaps stop in lobby and let them know. It's possible they can note your reservation for next day.

If you go to touringplans.com they show where the suites are with the room finder. Most are top floor in center but also some other scattered ones.

I'd want conch to be close to Sl for cl access and nearness to boat.
