So if I'm staying at Pop for 16 nights and I opt out of housekeeping, for how many nights do I get $10 credit? Will it be 16 minus 3 (every five nights)?

My understanding is that you will be eligible for a $150 credit even though they will do a thorough cleaning on days 5 and 10 of your visit, you do not pay for that if you have opted into the gift card option.

Does anyone know where to find the approximate travel times from POP to the different parks? I found a list way back when for the different resorts and of course can't find it anymore.

The longest ride feels like Magic Kingdom as it now goes in a long loop before it even gets out of the park. On the way home that is.

Does anyone who stayed at Pop recently know the actual dollar amount limit for charges for the room before they charge your credit card?

$500 for values, but in practice it varies. We went a good bit over the limit before and they told DH at the front desk that the limits can be higher based on your charging history.

We stayed at pop last week and they didn’t charge my card until 1000

That's what it used to be. Now it's $1000 for Values, $1500 for Moderates and $2000 for Deluxes.

I thought it was $1500 for both values and moderates. In our experence at AoA over the last few years, we were told it was $1500 and our card was usually charged around $1100-1200. Maybe just the suites at AoA are $1500???? Or maybe it's just my room. :D

I know Moderates are $1500 from personal experience. For Values I am going by 2 groups of friends that just returned from Sports and AoA (LM room) and they were told it was $1000 and both their CCs were charged when they hit $1000. Maybe you're on to something about the Suites being more.

I've actually read on various boards and blogs back when the limits were increased a few years ago it was Values & Mods $1500 and Deluxe & DVC $2000. We all know how inconsistent the information coming from CM's can be so I'm not surprised that people get various answers on various days. :D This isn't the first time I've heard people being told that the charging limit at Values is $1,000. The first time I was told that it was $1500 at AoA (and I was told twice that week by 2 different CM's on that trip -- June 2015 -- and was told it had been changed 6+ months prior to that), people reported back a few weeks later that they were told it was $500 at AoA. But then people reported they were told $1500 the same week. It could also be that the limit is actually $1500 for the values but they tend to put the charges through earlier than that. When I asked about the credit limit at AoA, no one ever asked if I was in a suite or a LM room (and I hadn't told them my name or scanned my magic band for them so they had no idea what type of room I was in). They always just said it was $1500. While I've had charges go over $1,000 before my card was charged, I've also had them go through around $800 as well. We're a party of 6 and we don't usually get a dining plan and we buy all of our snacks and drinks in the parks so we tend to rack up charges quickly. We usually have charges go through 2-3 times during a stay.

Out of curiosity, I just texted my son to find out when his charges were put through at Pop Century last year. They were there for 9 days and on check-out day, their card was charged $1135. So I'm guessing the limit is $1500 at all Values but they -- for whatever reason -- often put them through much sooner than that. He said he never asked what the limit was because he didn't care. :D

In typical Disney fashion, I think the charging limit varies by the CM at the desk that day. :D And that actually could be sort of possible as the front desk manager I talked to at AoA one trip told me that he had his front desk CM's run a report twice a day to look at room charges and if a room was getting anywhere close (I think he said about 70%) to the limit, the CM's were instructed to put the charges through at that point so that there was no chance of the guests going over their limit and being denied charging privileges while they were out and about.

OH. that's what all this hubbub is about!

I have read lots of questions/answers about when charges go through to one's card, just as they come up on the boards, but it was often a debit/credit limit concern, or wanting to pay off the room balance with gift cards/certain credit cards/etc. before a charge happens.

I didn't realize the limit matters because you can be denied charging privileges once you reach it. (If you're out and about during the day, I guess.) Good to know!

Yes, if you reach your charging limit while you're out at the parks/restaurants, your charging privileges will be denied until your resort puts the accumulated room charges through to the credit card on file. It's not as big of an issue since the limits were increased a few years ago. We had it happen to us a few times when the limit at Value resorts was $500. We usually hit that by day 2 with a family of 6 (since the "kids" were mostly teens and ate "adult" size meals). If it happens, you can have the CM at the restaurant/store contact your resort and have them put your room charges through to your card so that room charging becomes available, but it takes a few minutes and holds up the line of people behind you. That's one of the reasons we always carry some cash and our Disney Visa with us at all times. At least that way if our room charging privileges are denied, we can quickly and easily take care of the charges on our own without having to make phone calls and then stop at the front desk when we get back to the resort to straighten things out.

I know several people have had issues with room requests online for Pop lately, so I thought I'd try here...I made my requests online when my online check-in window opened a couple of weeks ago. Now, the requests aren't showing, and when I tried to add them back, I was getting no options in the drop down menu. I tried calling to add my request, but was told by the CM that she could not see my reservation because I had booked through a third party (I made my reservation via Orbitz). The reservation is linked to my MDE account, and I haven't had these issues before when I've booked Disney trips through Orbitz, though this year I did have more trouble linking the reservation than I have in the past. The CM told me to directly call Pop 10 days out from my trip, because they would be able to handle room requests at that point...this seemed a little odd to me because I was under the impression that all calls went to a call center, not the hotel itself? Has anyone else had this issue/would it be worth trying to call again?
