i just cancelled DirectTV. We are now using YouTube TV as our only TV source. The trial with YouTube TV has gone great. The interface is very different and has taken some getting used to for sure.

We were paying $153. Now $35. We get a lot less channels but those were channels we didn’t watch. $1416 in savings is another potential vacation.

Anyone else cut the cord?

Gah! What I wonder about is how one gets the daily, local news. Sure, I am annoyed by the fluff, and they can definitely use more detail/analysis, but it's someone I won't do without. What do you guys do?

We cut the cord a few months ago. I love the cheaper bill and I actually get more of the channels that I want and less of the crap. We use PlayStation Vue

Might have to check it out. The basic package has all the channels we need to watch Formula 1 races. That's the most important thing.

If you have internet you could get a roku box and get netflix and other channels as to get different shows as well. And still cheaper than cable.

I'm in a flat, fairly metropolitan area. I get all the local stations with a $10 antenna.

We also use an inexpensive antenna to get the local stations and a couple of other random things. Our area is neither flat nor metropolitan, although we aren't in the middle of nowhere. Also, our local news station does a live stream of one of their newscasts (I think it is 6:00 pm) on their website each day.

In my area YouTube TV includes the local Atlanta ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and CW.

Just cut the cord myself about four weeks ago. There's quite a learning curve, but we're getting there.

Did it a couple of years ago. I have Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. I add HBO and Showtime from time to time. I can't get over the air TV where my house is situated. I don't mind missing the news. I pick and choose what I consume and I like it that way.

I tried direct tv now streaming and did not like it. No dvr service No ability to pause and rewind.
Just cant cut the cord yet. Would love to though.

We did it when we moved to a rural area that was only served by satellite. We have Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Sling Orange. Never going back.

I have a friend that sells boxes of some kind where you stream a bunch of shows and in theatre movies. I told him no thanks because I like channels over specific shows.

I wanted to do it, but each time I call they want to charge me the same to keep the internet. Ridiculous, but I can't find another high speed internet option. So I still have cable, "for free" with my internet, basically.

What do you all do for internet, what options do you have?

Congratulations!! We did a few years and have never looked back! We have Sling TV, which is essentially cable, but we only pay around $35/month. We also have Netflix & we get Amazon as well, since we already pay for Prime. We were paying $200/month when we had cable. Now we pay less than 50!

My internet is from AT&T and was separate from my DirecTV. I was paying $70 for Internet and $153 for TV. Now I am paying $70 for Internet and $35 for TV.
