Hurricane Irma?

You could try the FlightAware site and check your flight. They have a "where is my plane now?" feature that lets you see where the aircraft scheduled for your flight is. You can track the incoming flight, and if that is on its way and on schedule that could give you more confidence that your flight will be good to go.

But, as a previous poster mentioned, there is always the possibility of a late change if the flight crew has to take mandated rest or if the airline decides to use the plane for a different flight, or various other issues.
This is super helpful - thank you!

Hmm. I'm also N of Atl but I have nothing happening except light rain. And yes our schools are closed tomorrow also

We have some occasional gusts, but no stronger than in a strong thunderstorm. But, maybe it's going to get worse?
The news just talked about Florida evacuees are starting to try to go home - not a good idea. I think it may have already been reported here, but a lot of South Georgia is without power, which means no power to pump gas, among other complications.

Until the plane is actually in the air, there is no guarantee. Frontier is not known as an airline with excellent service or the ability to recover quickly from service disruptions.
Agree 100%, until you are airborne there is no guarantee. It could be ATC, FAA, or the local airport that cancels too.....it's not always the airline. MCO was on flow control days ahead of Irma and I have to imagine will be the same for many days after. That alone can cancel a flight. Flow control = too many aircraft for ATC to handle....so they cancel and/or prioritize flights.

Glen Burns is now saying to expect the worst of the winds to be from 4-9PM, so yeah, I guess there's more to come!

Decided to call again. The CM told me that being a no-show currently does not lead to a cancellation.

I apologize if you already said this, but did you call and have it noted on file that you'd be arriving late? Make sure it is on your reservation somewhere. If Disney doesn't hear from you and you don't show up for two days, they'll assume you're not coming.

A moderator has posted on the official Irma update thread that ALL PARKS ARE OPEN TOMORROW!!!

For those of you there and have weathered the storm (was supposed to be me too :( ) ENJOY your quiet day in the parks before the crowds begin to arrive again!

Woo hoo! Our 4-year olds school is closed due to flood damage, so we will be there! I'd imagine quite a few locals are thinking the same thing!

I don't know if anyone posted this yet, but SW officially has flights going in tomorrow. They had cancelled mine for tomorrow, but it looks like they plan to be back in business. I also noticed some SW flights scheduled to arrive in MCO today (this evening) and marked as "on time" according to MCO's site.

There are actually quite a few SW, I also see an American, not so much the other airlines, though I haven't scrolled all the way through.

Yes! Take advantage of the low crowds and the fact that Disney WANTS you there. Not to make light whatsoever about the damage done to Florida by Irma, I never thought I'd say I'm jealous I wasn't in DW for a hurricane. I'm glad it worked out for those that were stuck in DW. I know a lot of you went through a scary night. Enjoy!

Any word on Frontier would be greatly appreciated if anyone sees it. I keep refreshing the page and am trying to figure out FlightAware. I'm honestly being too obsessive and need to put my phone down.

For those planning to travel here later in the week I am sure disney property and mco will be back up. Two areas of concern. Evacuees have been told don't return home many went to Orlando to ride out the storm, the hotels are sold out. Second and a larger problem is gas. No gas available and no power to pump the gas. Most of the state is without power so it will take a while to get that back and get gas into the state.
I just wonder how the airport shuttles plan to get the fuel they will need.

For everyone worried about gas stations not having power, many Florida gas stations are able to pump gas without power. I believe there's a way to look that up.

I agree that isn't not exactly something worth writing the CEO of Disney about. I also doubt it's about any Disney "policy". More than likely just one CM over-reacting, and not worth an over-over-reaction.

Probably one CM doing their job. Disney spends millions of dollars creating and protecting their image. Negative means lost revenue. The fact that very little was in the news about WDW and Irma wasn't just by chance, Disney controlled the reporting and forbid camera crews from shooting on Disney property.

I was talking pictures at the new Kidani when I noticed a security guard following me and he told me to stop taking pictures and wanted my ID. I was dumb struck and demanded a supervisor. The supervisor/manager explained that they had been watching me all morning and some of the pictures that I took were of less desirable areas of the resort and that Disney only wants us to remember the best. I was asked to delete pictures that were not typical of family photos. I wasn't backstage, or taking pictures of backstage. Upon returning home I contacted Disney and explained that the encounter was upsetting and that I would like information on their photo policy. I never got a response.
