Disney Gift Card Deals

I apologize in advance for the noob'ness of this question. Can someone explain how the Best Buy gift cards to Disney Guft cards works and what the deal is with the Target card in relation to Disney gift cards. We have a trip to Disney Worls coming up and if there are ways to even save a few bucks I would love to take advantage of them. Thanks in advance for you help and patience.
You can also use the Target Red Card (credit card) to purchase Gift Cards. You get a 5% discount. Just be sure to pay the bill in full that billing statement or the discount isn't worth the interest you will pay.

Incidentally, I had a courtesy discount for 5% (due to a damaged item in one of my order deliveries) so I saved an additional 5% on my $2500 in gift cards. That was almost $250! (They take the 5% off, then the other 5% off that. It's not 10% off.)

Well, I still don't have points from Chase. Those of you that got them credited said you SMed them? Is that like chat or email or what? Sorry, SM is eluding my brain at the moment. Also, don't google SM...it's definitely not what you meant!

When you SM them, attach a screen shot of your order so they can see the order date. That should work. Good luck!

Don't google SM? Made me laugh. I had that same experience when attempting to find the Dick's Sporting Goods site a few years ago - lol.

I know about the ways to add offers to authorized user accounts; however, I was under the impression (possibly erroneously) that this was a work around and that Amex would only allow one credit per account if audited by customer service. I'm considering an account to be defined as my card (as primary) and all authorized users. Perhaps when Amex says "per account" they are considering an auth user card as an account? In other words, an authorized user card is a separate "account" for Amex offer purposes? Have I been thinking about this incorrectly this entire time?
On my second round of fixes the way the rep explained it is that offers are not just targeted per account (primary+auth users) but per individual card (each cardholder may be targeted for each offer). I'm not sure whether they call each an "account".

My husband and I each hold a primary Amex account, and we're auth users on each other's cards. I have to check 4 places for the offers and we sometimes get 4 of the same offer, sometimes just 1, and I can't figure out rhyme or reason. Now that I understand that system, all of the offers have automatically worked, including those that state "1 per account" (or however they word it), if I have selected the offer on my primary card and on his authorized user card, which I agree with you seems like that would be "2 per account"!

Just wanted to say that I was able to use Target gift cards to pay for Disney gift cards this weekend, at a Target in Dartmouth MA. Used the usual check-out as well, not a self check-out.

If anyone else is using BJs as an easy way to get 5% savings, I noticed this morning that the $100 GC is back in stock :) I got a couple!

Can anyone tell me if I can use GC to pay the difference between a 5 day PH ticket and the upgrade to an annual passport? I am considering this since we will visit twice this within 7 months. But it'll only be worth it if I can save a little more, like with GC savings magic pixiedust:

If you're asking whether the Disney theme park ticket booth or guest relations will accept Disney gift cards as payment to upgrade a ticket to an AP, then YES.

Can someone explain to me the difference in using Target Gift Cards to purchase Disney Gift Cards, as opposed to using Target Red Card to purchase Disney Gift Cards. Don't you only get 5% off either way? Or do you get 5% off Target Gift Cards using the Red Card, and then get an additional 5% off using those Target Gift Cards to buy Disney Gift Cards?

On Target.com:
Disney Gift Card $100
REDcard save an additional 5%

It states "You cannot use a Target GiftCard to purchase this card."

You do not get 5% off either way.

If you pay with a Target Red card, you get 5% off.

If you pay with Target gift cards, you get 0% off.

However, you may find a way to obtain Target gift cards for more than 5% off, either through some sort of promotion or from a 3rd party reseller site.

There used to be a way to use gift cards AND get the 5% Red card discount, but that loophole was closed months ago and no longer works.

Yes, I would love to find at least one more GC offer for my remaining $500 balance due! :) Otherwise, I will buy through Target.

Ah. Got it. Thanks!!

I was worried I could have gotten a better deal than what I had. But I saved almost 10% so I'm good. Whew.

Question about the Disney Visa bonus offer -

My husband and I both got the Disney Visa with a referral. When I hit my $500 spend, I received my $200 gift card in the mail about 10 days later. My husband's has taken way longer and we still haven't gotten it. Technically the terms say it can take up to 8 weeks but my bonus came so much faster. We have a trip coming up in 2 weeks that I was really hoping to have it for.

Does anyone else have experience with the Disney Visa bonus gift card? If so, how long after hitting the spend threshold did you receive it?

TIA!

I had SO MUCH TROUBLE purchasing the Disney GC on line at Target.com! It took me almost an hour with trying three different browsers/devices, then the on line chat feature (20min right there) then I had to call the 800 number. Is it always this difficult? lol The person on the phone said it is a known error. The first person i spoke with in person at my local Target store said I could not purchase a Disney Gift card with a Target RedCard and receive the 5% off. Hoping to do this every month without such a hassle... anyone know an easier way? I could do the BJs/Disney Visa route I guess but that would be 4% off. TIA

So weird I can't get it to come up when searching their site but that link worked for me. Thanks!

Same with me; thank you. I decided to use my 2% PayPal cash back MasterCard instead of the Disney Visa. It deposits 2% back into my PayPal account. I use it for the non grocery/gas/restaurant items (which the Disney Visa only gives me 2% for). I use PayPal a lot so it works for me.

I was wondering how often these are in stock? I searched for the past several weeks and never found any, including this one. Wondering how many i should buy.
