Hurricane Irma?

This might be a question for another thread but I don't know how to start one. Since we had to change our trip dates because of irma I lost all of my painfully planned and scheduled 180 days out reservations. Any tips or secrets for possibly getting some of the harder character reservations again at only 2 weeks out?

Oops, sorry. I did mean Tuesday. :o I keep thinking today is Saturday.
My son is on one of the park ride-out crews hunkered down in a park. We talked to him earlier today and he said that management has told them to be prepared to try and open the park sometime tomorrow IF a "better case" scenario happens tonight. They know people will be eager to get out of the resorts as soon as possible. This isn't to say it will happen, but Disney hasn't totally written off Monday.

You can put in up to 2 requests on Touring Plans dining reservation finder. You don't have to pay for a subscription to do this. I have found many reservations that way. Keep trying yourself as well. I have also found a lot the few days prior as people cancel. Good luck! I think by doing all of the above you will have good luck finding what you need. :thumbsup2

Although there have not been widespread colonizations, there have been reports of them in Florida.

My dad has a divot type scar from a brown recluse bite from when he was a kid and a small part of his skin had to be cut out. He lived in Polk Co, Fl at the time. Brown recluse spiders are no joke!

In the south but shows it's range does not extend down in to Florida.

You can google a picture. They do look like house spiders. We don't take any chances around my home. If it is brown, it is dead.

My first thought was brown recluse too, but I grew in OK and live in TX now. I also detest and fear spiders, like phobic level. I have been bit by some that weren't identified that have left permanent scars. My mom got bit by a brown recluse in OK. 2 weeks after, she developed rheumatoid arthritis. The doctors can't say for sure if it was the spider bite, or maybe multiple, she found a nest. However, they didn't discount this. She didn't have any other illnesses that lead to RA and no one in our family has every had it. I say if it has legs, flush it down:) But stomp on it first until it's flatter than paper.

Keep checking, especially within a few days of your trip. A lot of people cancel reservations at the last minute. We're locals, and if we decide to look for an ADR a day or two in advance, you'd be amazed what comes up!

Since our SW flight into MCO was canceled Tue I'm considering flying into ATL and driving down. This is of course provided our flight into ATL doesn't get canceled. Anyone know if the gas shortage is a huge concern in GA and FL? TIA! April

I don't have confirmation yet but heard from someone who heard from someone that Jamaica at CBR first floor is getting flooded. Anyone have any info? Will try to get more.

I don't regret leaving early for second, even if it turns out to be not that bad. I wouldn't want to be holed up in my room wondering if the power is going to go out, and worrying about my flight being canceled. Not the vacation I envisioned whatsoever.
So with you.. just read on Twiter that some people living in Orlando have lost power...

Sorry. I was "agreeing" with the reasonable response, not arguing with her. LOL.

I thought so from what you had said!!! Agree and agree in all ways. So grateful for everyone's updates. I'm a transplanted Northerner in Atlanta for the first hurricane season and I'm getting a lot of tips in preparing from this board. Can't stop thinking about everyone tonight.

Irma may complicate travel in the TN/GA and areas north. Too early to tell till the storm fully clears, but MCO might be open whereas ATL or other airports north will be dealing with tropical depression rains/wind. I haven't heard about gas shortages in GA, but hopefully by Tuesday evacuees would be able to start driving back home. I'm thinking optimistically and hoping for the best. Good thoughts for your travel plans whatever they may be. :cutie:

Wow. She said WIND not rain. Depending on what side of the building she is on she could have more wind than elsewhere. What happened to the Disney spirit with some of these people on here?
There are several people at Riverside sharing the same wind intensity and sounds that the previous poster shared. I think the side of the building you're on definitely plays a role. Thoughts and prayers to everyone at the resorts tonight.

We're driving down early Tuesday from TN. As long as they have gas in Valdosta GA, we'll be able to make it rest of way down. I checked on gas buddy app earlier, and a lot of places are totally out of gas, but a few still had it.

Thinking of all who are hunkered down at the resorts. Hoping everyone stays safe. Have been watching the weather obsessively--really hoping the parks are not too messed up and can reopen safely and quickly. It's a mixed up crazy world, and we all need an escape.
