Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Page 958

For our trip in December we (DH &I) are booked in a Garden or Woods View room at the YC. I was going to call and request a king bed room and now my DD told me she's flying down for the weekend to stay with a friend. She wants to meet us at the resort and may decide to stay one night... I figure I can go to the front desk to ask to have her added to the room for the night and pay the extra $25, but if not all king bed rooms also have day beds, she may not be able to. I don't want to add her on to the reservation since I don't want to pay the extra person fee for the whole stay and only the night she will be there. Could I even do that? Can I also request the daybed when requesting the king room? Should I explain the situation to the cm when I call to put in the request?

My advice to you is to go ahead and add a request for a king bed to your reservation.

There is a limited supply of these rooms available at the resort, so if you don't get one, you will have two queen beds and there will be no issue with your daughter joining for one night.

If you do get a king bed room, it may have a daybed or some other sleeping accommodation for an additional person, so you will be all set.

If it does not have an additional sleeping surface for your daughter, you may be able to request a rollaway cot for the room for the night she is there. My understanding is that the cots are surprisingly comfortable.

Southwest flights through April 6, 2018 are now available for booking.

Seats for Orlando flights are going fast!

Thanks for the heads up!

Do you know (without having to look on the website, which I could do when I have time) when the next release of dates is?

:goodvibes

I'm a bit vertically challenged. I wonder if they are higher than our new bed. I didn't think about it when we bought it, but with the thicker mattress, I definitely need to climb into our bed at home.

:welcome:

Same here!

We bought a mattress and box spring during a band fundraiser last year and in addition to needing to change the box spring to split because the delivery people couldn't get it up the stairs, I am now, literally, climbing into bed every night.

:goodvibes

BTW- any upcoming trips to the resort?

I did, about 15 years ago. Actually, it's a suite (or maybe a junior suite...it's been a while). My husband and I were upgraded when we popped down for a quickie weekend trip. It was really nice, and super convenient to Epcot, of course...I just wish we had more time to appreciate it.

:welcome: back and thanks for posting.

Would you like me to add your November trip to the Be Our Guest list?

:thumbsup2

Does anyone know what the current hours are for the pool?

:welcome:

Do you have an upcoming trip?

:cool2:

What are the hours of the laundry rooms at the beach club.
Sorry if this has been ask/answered I couldn't find the answer with the search function.

:welcome: back!

Let me know if you have an upcoming trip that you would like added to the Be Our Guest list.

::yes::

OK, first stay at BC...why would I want a styrofoam cooler? The pool perhaps?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Occtober?

:cool1:

3 weeks until our first BC stay!!:yay::yay: A few questions as I begin making final lists and plans.

Is there anyplace for DH to get iced coffee in the morning? I know he can get it at Starbucks at the parks but we don't want to waste valuable morning touring time and he would like to have it earlier anyway.

I know it is basically impossible to watch both F! and the SW show on the same night. Is it possible to see some of either show (obviously not the projections) from BC?

Thank you!

There is not nearly enough availability for iced coffee in Florida!!!

Here's what I do- I will make coffee in the room and stash it in the fridge overnight. Or buy coffee or get it in your refill mug from the Marketplace. Get ice in the morning (or even at night and keep in ice keeper). You can make your own iced coffee as soon as you wake up or to enjoy on the balcony.

You can see some of the Star Wars fireworks from around the Beach Club (the beach area, for example), but it is much better from inside the park, obviously.

Question: We are driving and plan to arrive by 8 am, hitting the MK first day. Which would you YC veterans suggest - parking at the YC, leaving our bag with the desk and taking a morning bus to MK or driving straight to MK and hitting YC at the end of the day?

MK hours are 9-9.

Thanks

MK is the one park we hate driving to, so I would park at YC and take the bus.

Thank you. Since I had read about the YC being a difficult place to park my instinct was to park and bus over.

Last time we stayed at the Contemporary which was nice but after our day at MK we're doing F&W so walking to E is very appealing!

Is there an extra charge to request a rollaway? We have 2 boys who may not sleep well together and seems rooms with 4 people don't always get rooms with daybeds.

My son slept on a rollaway last time we stayed at YC. They gave us a room without a daybed even though we were a party of 5. He said it was very comfortable. I actually think it worked out better than a daybed. We were able to put the rollaway between the bed and the balcony doors. He could easily see the tv from bed, which would have been harder on a daybed.

I am excited to be back on this forum after a few years! We will be staying at The Beach Club September 1-5. We stayed at the YC a few years ago and really enjoyed it but I am looking forward to trying something new! We also did not have many opportunities for the pool when we stayed in January so September should allow for lots of pool time.

Looking forward to reading along for the next month!

Thank you! My adult daughter and I will be staying at the Yacht Club for the first time September 2-10. It's also our first time during Food and Wine and doing MNSSHP. We're very excited!

Are you good with your bags being roasted in the car while you're at MK? If not I'd go the drop off at bell services route.

If anyone has "Activities Calendar" for August and could post the info - appreciated. I have seen Poly but looking for Beach Club August info.
