Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

So after scrolling thru some of this thread, I pulled the trigger and we are staying BC for our November trip. Super excited, now lots to research. POR is home but we seem to be on a mission to try a lot of the resorts. Excited to snag a Beaches and Cream reservation already this morning.

How crazy does the resort get over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend? I had honestly swore I would never go this time of year, but as the saying goes never say never.

We have stayed at the Beach Club at all times of the year and the craziest I have ever seen the lobby was this past 4th of July weekend. Otherwise, the Beach Club is mostly the same all year long - although it might be a little quieter in January, when it is too cold to swim.

Ok so they are putting Cabanas by the pool...

I think we need suggestions on what should be in those Cabanas!

For instance I think we need Johnny Depp and Matthew McConaughey stationed in my Cabana as Cabana boys. They would be waiting in the hot tub that will be in my cabana. The hot tub will be situated between the sunken treasure machine and the Dole whip machine. On the table will be an order of truffle fries and bacon wrapped short ribs with cheesy grits and whatever else Club Level is serving. *Note to Scott: I promise to return the tray.

Of course my Cabana will have to have a daybed, even if I have to drag it out of the room and toss it in the tent... oops I mean Cabana.

In front of my Cabana will be a wall of those green sand buckets, stacked in an orderly fashion for privacy. There also will be an elevator to the big slide so I don't have to walk ALL THE WAY AROUND Stormalong Bay!

There also will be a giant water cannon mounted on the roof of my Cabana so I can shoot the DJ that screams at the children ALL AFTERNOON at the pool.

Pew, Pew, Pew with the water cannon. That should be enough to deter the CONSTANT BANTER and cheesy kid pop songs.

Next I'll need Sirius satellite radio so I can play the 80's channel as I marinate in the hot tub with Matty and Johnny.

I know I will also have my own monogrammed, Olympic caliber, pool tube waiting for me in the hot tub. I won't have to put up with the dirty looks from Dee, Janet and Nannette when I pool tube in a hot tub because IT'S A CABANA HOT TUB AND I CAN POOL TUBE IF I WANT TO!

What am I missing?

So your cabana will have a daybed, but will
it have a full balcony? What about easy access to the Epcot secret exit?

Looking for 11/17 or 11/18 party of 3 for dinner. I have TP set, but nothing yet.

When I was trying to book Be Our Guest, I had bad luck with the Touring Plans reservation finder thingie. It found one reservation, and notified me many hours after it found the reservation. By then, of course, someone else had snagged the resie. I asked Touring Plans about it and they told me too bad, texts sometimes arrive late. If I didn't believe them, I should Google it.

I had much better luck searching by myself. I am on the computer a lot, so I just made it a point to keep going to the Disney website and searching. I eventually found lunch on two different days during my trip, and finally found dinner. (I kept the dinner resie.)

I also kept an eye on the Touring Plans thingie, and noticed that it would search about once every 45 minutes. It is not constantly searching.

I know many people have had great luck with TP, but my advice is to try searching yourself also if you want a resie which is hard to get, such as Beaches & Cream.

I snagged 3 ADRs thanks to TP. I have faith :)

I know :) just confirming that it does work. I've seen a few people being frustrated with it, but I figure why not keep it going. I check pretty regularly myself, too.
I've had luck with TP and constant searching. I've also used ***********.

Has anyone used the Express Transportation option to make traveling back to BC via Epcot more convenient? I'm thinking that the location of the drop-off near Space Ship Earth makes the walk to the intl gateway too long for it to be useful.

Depending on what park you are departing from, it may or may not be a time saver. For instance, the regular bus stop at AK can be a long walk. However, with the Express location in Africa, boarding the bus can be a time saver, if your plans at the park have you ending up nearby. If you are departing HS, however, the FriendShip boat is the obvious choice. If your room is close to the Epcot side, I have discovered that the Epcot stop is a shorter walk, than using the YC/BC stop.

Now, as far as the walk from Epcot's Express bus location, you can figure a good 15 minutes to reach the IG, and then about another five minutes to reach the BC. If there are large crowds at Epcot, it might even take a bit longer.

Of course, the Express service runs on a very prompt schedule, so, at least you are guaranteed of a departure time. With the regular buses, you never know if you will get lucky and not have to wait, or if you just missed a bus and will have to wait another 20 minutes.

To walk to the Dolphin from BC, do you walk toward YC or toward BWI? Which way is faster?

I would go thru YC. You can follow along the indoor corridors & you'll have at least some air conditioning. Going past BWI, you have to go up & over a short bridge, past the whole Boardwalk & then over another bridge that lands between Swan & Dolphin. All outside.

We have booked at Beach Club hotel for April 24th-May 1st (saw someone else on here is staying the same dates!) whilst we are waiting for our DVC request to be filled. So either way, we're going! Just waiting to see if it will be the hotel or villa.

So excited!!!!! First trip!
