I agree I like Riverside but I LOVE French Quarter!I like POR, but I love POFQ.
POR hands down for us.
We prefer POR over POFQ, by quite a bit.
Would you mind elaborating on some of the reasons why? I like seeing the rational behind people's preferences, and it is useful for other readers I'm sure!

POR is a full service moderate with Table Service, large Quick Service, Recreational Activities, Quiet Pools .... POFQ does not have the full moderate amenities and yet they charge the same prices. I don't want to have to walk to a neighboring resort for the extras.
POR main pool has sun & shade, a natural curve with slide/kiddie pool at one end ... hot tub/bar at other end and we find it to be very adult suitable. We also enjoy a dip in the quiet pools at end of night. The POFQ only pool is a wide open sunny concrete deck that is designed for young children and now added a splash pad area. Even when my kids were young they thought it was babyish. The hot tub is removed from the pool and not much bigger than the one in my back yard.
I LOVE NOLA, the design and vibe. While they did a good job on the buildings the resort has no energy like NOLA. It just feels very quiet and isolating with every building looking like the next. POR is beautiful to walk around, has two themes, even the mansions all look different and feels more alive. It was nice to take pictures but we found it boring and didn't feel like a resort. Some of that may be because they have limited amenities. I know some love the smaller footprint of POFQ but some of their rooms are quite the walk from the main hub/bus stop since there is just one.
We found food at POR more varied and better .. with more windows so getting our food was faster. We love the lounge at POR with Yeeha Bob, ordering appetizers while we enjoy the show. Boatrights has always been good.
I actually want to replace my reply above with this, verbatim!

It's because the resort is almost always fully booked. If you're making the most money at Price A, why charge a lower price?
It's also the reason that FQ is almost never included in any room discounts or free dining promotions.
