Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

We have never seen our retriever so upset... sigh. When I have to come up from the basement he follows me, and won't stay with my husband, he is then subjected to the noise. My husband has said he won't do anything except pant, and pace if he's left with him in the family room.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. :dog2: Woof... sigh.

Edit:. We did manage to get him to go out, and drink but, he hasn't eaten.

Glad your storm damage is getting addressed but sorry to hear about your pooch getting so stressed. Is there anywhere your dog could stay during the day until the work is done? Drugs? Other than that I got nothing, sorry. :)

Glad the roofers are there, but sorry your pup is upset. Is there a dog park nearby or somewhere you can hike with the dog for awhile to get him away from the noise and strangers? Our roof had to be replaced a few years ago due to storm damage, and my daughter couldn't handle the noise. I tried to be away from home as much as possible. I know that's more difficult with a pet, though.

Thanks for your suggestions. Our dog park, conservation areas are if open, and not under water, advise not to visit right now. We don't have LARGE dog friendly senior friends.

Well I hope they can do your roof quickly then. Our repairs only lasted a couple of days...and we were fortunate enough to be at WDW when the work was done. I'm guessing our cat didn't appreciate the noise too much but she probably slept through most of it.:cat:

WHAT!? Before I get too carried away thanks for all the well wishes... AND, putting up with my rant.

I'm hoping my hearing returns to normal soon! The roof re-shingling is done but, the rain was relentless, and it took so... Long. The poor roofers couldn't catch a break. It was an on, and off job. Our poor retriever looked at me today when the sound of silence was all around us and, I was finally able to tell him it's over.

We've experienced one rather nasty side of our shingle choice.

The shingles are smaller than the past shingles we've had. They were installed with roofing nails, and glue. I think you know where this is going. The weather re-arranged tarps placed some wayward shingles/glue in our walkway, on our deck, and now we have some glue on entrance hall floors in the house... sigh. My husband assures me with washing, and time it will be ok... sigh.

Summer arrived about an hr after the job was completed today.

We are now in FULL SUN! Forecast says it'll be with us for like a week. :)

Glad your roof it on and you now have sun. That's about right, huh?! Sounds like our luck. Raining during roofing and then perfectly clear after it's done. Hope the glue cleans up quickly. : ( I bet you have one relieved pup now! Poor baby.

Yay for roofs! Since we had our roof done late April/early May everybody in the neighborhood has been getting their new roofs too. I guess we've all been "roof-ied":duck:Maybe we shouldn't be hanging out in those shingles bars.

Hope everyone is well, saw a post from @jevs and thought we haven't heard from her for a while. She must be shoveling snow.

Things are good at hacienda de Micca, hope you all are well & hanging in there too.:)

:wave2: Hi back atcha!! We're fine but busy - we came home way behind the curve due to our unplanned sojourn in Barcelona. The days have just flown by as we try to chip away at our "should have already been done" list.

89 pure temp - feels like 98 with heat index. Feels absolutely disgusting outside. I can see 15 days out on the weather app and we have no respite coming within that time frame. It's probably just the beginning of our hellish summer temps. Bring on winter!

Twilight.....I will go out tonight and wait for the lightening bugs. My DH said he saw a couple last night at the fire he had for my bros.......we'll see. I don't like winter temps but this near 90s' is pretty rough esp here in Michigan this time of year. Stay cool everyone but hey we're ALDIO DISer's so we're already cool!!! :goodvibes

In the 90s here today but I don't complain about hot weather, that's just how much I hate the cold weather. :) If I'm going to grouse about something it'll be having to get up before 6am to get my walk in before it gets too hot for the day.

Nice to see fellow ALDIO-ians having a good time. Things are quiet here...hot and quiet.:)

Ditto. Especially the hot. At 10:30 this morning, it was already 96 with heat index. No doubt it will reach feels like temps of over 100 today and tomorrow.

Just thought I'd share, we are going North (3 hr drive in Ontario, Canada) in two weeks for a mini break (4 days, 3 nights) to the largest fresh water beach in the world! I'm throwing caution to the wind, and taking my limited mobility (Baker's Cysts) with me though... sigh. Albeit, determined to make the best of it. :sunny:

Looks like tons of fun. Hope you are able to fully enjoy your time there.

well its a lovely day here - gonna hit mid 70's. We also have Sail Boston :boat: coming in until the 21st. It's gonna be busy & fun here.:jumping1::drinking1

What I wouldn't give for temps like that!!!!!!! My brother was recently in Boston. He loved it. We hope to visit one day, too.
