No right,no wrong, no rules for me - I'm free *First solo trip 4/30-5/6* updated 8/29x3 *complete*

Personally, I thought the whole experience was pretty cool!
Which is why you are clearly an awesome person :) I would have thought that was cool too! I think people can be so riddiculous sometimes, and completely blow a situation way out of proportion!!
Smart move spending the rainy portion of the day in Tomorrowland, barring the inevitable crowd accumulation that usually works out well.

And we all survived the is-it-a-date-or-not thing from last night. X is two months from being 14, but I like to pretend he's about 6. Six year olds don't date. Actually, I'm not into the 14 year old dating either, but this was a pretty harmless situation. He has been talking to this girl a LOT all year...on the phone (yes, actual phone calls!) every night for at least an hour.

Oh my goodness! This must feel so weird! I remember being almost exactly X's age when I had my first "boyfriend." At least the first one I spent any amount of actual time with. I wasn't allowed to date solo until I was 16, so went went on several "group outings" to enjoy each other's company.

It was a funny trip to the Laugh Floor. All of our audience participants were into it...well, That Guy wasn't at first, but then he began to embrace it!

How very typical of That Guy. I'm gonna start using this for people who aren't enthused: for example, "Way to be a That Guy!"

Awkward Selfie on Bridge:

Love this selfie! Particularly because your ears are shiny and gorgeous :lovestruc

SO exciting to see Tiana in her flapper outfit with Naveen and Louis!

I think this is probably what I'm most excited about for our next trip when I actually take the time to enjoy the new welcome show. Too bad the regular show didn't go on this day though.

I have no idea why Adventureland was so crazy at this moment! Everywhere else was pretty reasonable.

Crazy! We actually found there was a fair crowd heading left when we went, too. I figured we'd be smart and dodge the crowds to do our Frontierland stuff first thing in the AM, but alas, it didn't quite work out that way. We still had low waits though.

Splash was probably my number one can't miss ride for this trip, considering it will be down for refurb when I'm there in October. That makes me so sad, because I really, REALLY wanted to get my mom on it!

Splash was also my priority for this recent trip! It also just so happens to be my favorite ride in all of WDW by a small margin. Too bad you won't be able to get your mom on it. :(

Before long, we saw CMs coming up the stairs saying they were here to rescue us! They made everyone put their phones away...and one of them was kind of rude to me because I had mine in my hand. I asked her very sweetly where exactly she'd like me to put it, considering I had no pockets, and after that she told me keeping it in my hand would be fine.

Haha CM just got burned!! On our whirlwind trip I wore a sports bra, and when I had no pockets one day I ended up spending most of the day with my iPhone sticking up out of the middle of my sports bra. No regrets.

Anyway, we were led down the stairs and through a tiny bit of backstage, where we were greeted with a line of CMs handing us paper fast passes and bottles of water and apologizing profusely.

This is crazy and cool. I'm feeling blessed this didn't happen to us, because as I'll eventually get to in my May TR it seemed that we were going to be in that situation (also on Splash!) for a bit...but getting evacuated would be a pretty cool thing to add to the Disney bucket list...

And I just realized that the FP was good all the way through the end of May!! I'm really sad because I never used it, what was I thinking?? Ugh.

Aww man!! That's too bad! You should have hidden it somewhere really sneaky for us since we arrived right after you left :P

Glad the car issues are solved!

Aww X on a date, that is so cute! But also understand why you aren't ready for it!

Great People Mover photos, hope it was worth the injury! haha

Yay for the sun coming back out!

What a bummer that the castle show was cancelled...at least they still brough out the characters!

Sounds like a great afternoon! And you got evacuated from a ride! I figured they would give you a FP but that's nice that you got water too!

I loved getting that teeny tiny peek backstage!! The evacuation is definitely in my top ten favorite Disney World moments! My family was J-E-A-L-O-U-S!

I felt like I managed to stay just ahead of the crowds all day and didn't have to deal with them...Tomorrowland can get so crazy in the afternoons, so I felt lucky to be over there and in relative peace!

Oh my goodness! This must feel so weird! I remember being almost exactly X's age when I had my first "boyfriend." At least the first one I spent any amount of actual time with. Yeah, it's really weird to think of him dating or anything. I was around the same age too, and I try to be really chill about all these kinds of things, but it's all lies!! I'm really a mess, lol!!

I love this particular pair of ears SO MUCH. They got the most compliments this trip by far. Still not to the level of the Vera Bradley print ones I have that match my bag, but nothing has ever been as popular with other guests/CMs as those are.

I'm sorry you encountered crowds on your "turn left" morning. It was so empty over there for almost a full hour on this morning, and I couldn't believe it. I always feel like something is wrong when crowds are low in a particular area, like I'm not supposed to be there. It's totally irrational, but still!!

I often claim that Splash Mtn is my favorite ride at WDW, and most of the time it's true! I love all of the animatronics and I really feel like they need to make more merchandise with the possum triplets - Pansy, Poppy, and Petunia - because I would buy all the things!!!

I need to go read your May TR!!

I am so mad at myself for not using that FP. I kept it in my lanyard pouch the whole time I think. I must have just not paid attention and thought it was only for the same day or something?? I have no idea. It's in my closet now somewhere, doing no one any favors.

Glad the car issues are solved!

He was so polite to her, opening the doors and everything...We try to make it a point to teach both boys to be gentlemen, I hope it sticks!

Haha, I was so embarrassed on the People Mover, I was just all "la ti da, let's open the camera", not paying any attention and then Wham!

I was glad they brought out the characters even though the show was cancelled. I am still curious about what happened, since it seemed like it was going to start and then very abruptly stopped.

Getting evacuated was the most exciting part of the day I think!!

This is my favorite shot of yours because that's the back of my balding head in the blue/gray shirt right near the center! We were there for pretty much all the same days as you!

Ahh!! Really?!? I think this wins for best comment ever on a trip report!! I love that you were in my picture!!

I hope you had a wonderful MK day...and I'm REALLY glad you weren't the lady from Splash Mountain instead, LOL :rotfl2:

First congrats on the Jeep can't wait to see a pic. I can't believe how uncrowded your earlier pics were.
I loved the expression of the little boy sitting next to you on 7DMT :rotfl:
Great job getting BOG lunch :thumbsup2
That's scary getting stuck on Splash I wouldn't have liked it.

First off, don't knock your "awkward selfies" - so far, they've all been fabulous!

I'm not sure what the situation is, but he did pay for her ticket. I'm not ready for any of this.
Oh, dear... I can imagine. Well, imagine as much as I can, given I don't have kids myself  But I do have a 2 and 4 year old niece and nephew and I can imagine I won't be ready for them to date either... ever. :rotfl: But glad you survived! :thumbsup2

Well, I was sitting there messing with my phone and we went around one of the curves and it threw me sideways and I whacked my head on the side, so...don't sit with your legs crossed in the middle of the seat because it goes faster than you think
This made me laugh (but not at your head banging!) but because you may note I had a TR titled "PeopleMover is my kind of thrill ride!" :rotfl:

While eating, I considered the Tiki Room, which is another favorite of mine (it's been my ringtone for several months)
I approve of this ringtone choice of yours :thumbsup2

As we came around the corner before the Slip 'n Falls, there seemed to be a backlog (I'm soooo hilarious).
I love a good pun!

I'm not sure why I was treated as a problem child when mine was off and held down to the side.
I'm telling ya... it's 'cause you were solo :rolleyes1 Trust me... I know... :sad2:

Personally, I thought the whole experience was pretty cool!
I would have LOVED this!!! But what was up with that cranky woman?! Chillax, lady.

He went to see Everything, Everything (aka, Bubble Girl), so he must really like her. I'm not sure what the situation is, but he did pay for her ticket. I'm not ready for any of this.

Aw his first date-ish thing! I actually started dating at 14, my boyfriend was older but was kind of nerdy (not to be mean him and his friends called themselves the super nerds) so my parents weren't worried :rotfl: But this does mean my little sister might start dating soon :faint:

Remember a few months ago when some lady sued Disney b/c she was injured on the People Mover and everyone was like, "Lol, it's so slow, how does that even happen??" Well, I was sitting there messing with my phone and we went around one of the curves and it threw me sideways and I whacked my head on the side, so...don't sit with your legs crossed in the middle of the seat because it goes faster than you think :rotfl:
I'm pretty sure I heard someone laugh at me.

From what I've heard they do collide rather hard on occasion.

A woman in front of me had hers out and was on it the entire time and they didn't say anything to her, so I'm not sure why I was treated as a problem child when mine was off and held down to the side.

So weird!

That same guest who was on her phone also was not watching her child and he almost fell trying to climb back INTO the log. Then a wasp flew by us and she almost stepped off the side and into the water because she screamed and jumped back. And she would not quit asking the CMs about replacing her fast pass, even though they told her it would be taken care of after we were no longer on a slippery wet narrow ledge next to water.

:rotfl: I need to know or I won't get down from this ledge!

Even though I wouldn't want to be evacuated from a ride, I think it would be really cool to experience it. :)

Thank you!! I still haven't heard when it's arriving from the other dealership so I'm feeling a little down about the whole thing after being so, so excited. I'm bad at waiting!

His expression cracked me up! I didn't pay a lot of attention to it until I posted it...I promise he was having fun!
Getting BOG lunch was such a relief!
Luckily we weren't stuck very long before they came to get us. It was a pretty good spot to be trapped and easy to get off the log and down the stairs. It was wet though, and I was glad no one slipped on the stairs!

I would have LOVED this!!! But what was up with that cranky woman?! Chillax, lady.

Oh, you are nice! I feel like my Disney selfies were weird...I am better at them when there are more people in the picture for some reason. So, groupies??

I never realized how emotional I would be about the date thing. Not like crying emotional, but more like, "if some girl ever hurts my baby I will go all Hulk Smash, and I am not that afraid of jail" kind of emotional, LOL!

I love that TR title!!

Thank you! I switch between Tiki Room and Small World!

Why do the solo kids get picked on?? Boo!! Getting evacuated was pretty cool, and definitely something this Disney nerd LOVED!

Aw his first date-ish thing! I actually started dating at 14, my boyfriend was older but was kind of nerdy (not to be mean him and his friends called themselves the super nerds) so my parents weren't worried :rotfl: But this does mean my little sister might start dating soon :faint:

:rotfl: I need to know or I won't get down from this ledge!

I was 15 I think, on my first date...actually with my current DH before he moved out of state! We saw Titanic, lol!! It's so weird to think about them dating b/c they're BABIES!! We weren't of course, but THEY are.

It was the most embarrassing thing ever. I would never, ever complain about getting hurt on PeopleMover just because of the embarrassment factor, LOL!! I would drag my broken leg along behind me with my head held high!

LOL, pretty much! She was cool with her kid almost falling into the log or whatever but by golly she NEEDED another fast pass ASAP.

Even though I wouldn't want to be evacuated from a ride, I think it would be really cool to experience it. :)

My dream is to have to get walked off Haunted Mansion with the lights on!! But I want to go through the whole thing, and if it ever happened it would probably be just a little piece of it.

Haha I wouldn't either. I've just heard that sometimes they do collide kind of hard so someone could get hurt but unless you were doing something weird I don't think you'd break a leg :rotfl:

Awkward bathroom selfie (no, the awkward selfies are not over...they're here alllllll week, kids!) with decently straight hair! Will it last???

I love the Awkward Selfies! (But they are not awkward!)

I hurried and scurried inside to be greeted with my very first glimpse of the Magic Kingdom of the trip!! I could not WAIT for this moment, the best moment of any trip in my opinion.

Even thought I love Epcot, I really think the magic moment is seeing the Castle for the first time on every trip!

this ugly brown scrim up over the Emporium.

Whaaat??

I said the same thing! I was like...WHAT?!?

I really miss the regular welcome show, but I did enjoy this low key start to the MK morning. Everyone was pretty chill and just hanging around taking in the sights. Probably the slowest pace I've seen ever on Main Street. No one rushing. It was nice!

Yeah it is kind of nice to have so much room to walk around before the actual park opens, although that means no more empty main street pictures.

When I left off, I had just gotten in line for my first ride of the day...Pirates of the Caribbean!! It's one of my all time favorites...how many times would I ride it this week?? I was hoping Johnny Depp would pop up here like he did California so...

Hahaha you and me both!

Pirates was walk on, so it didn't take much time to get through the line. This was my first encounter with someone who acted annoyed by my being alone. When the CM asked how many in my party and I said "just one", she rolled her eyes and said, "Well, you're probably going to have to ride with another group."

No kidding.

I just smiled really big and said, "Great, thank you!" and she looked at me like I was an alien. Maybe I AM an alien?? You'll never know...

I really don't understand why CMs would be annoyed at the solo person. I think that would actually be a nice change as there are so many big families that they'll have to split up evenly so having one person would be a piece of cake.

take a little sail around the world.

In my other reports I usually go on and on about how much I love Small World and the message it sends, so I'll avoid that this time. But I really do love it so much!!

IASW reminds me of my childhood. So I do love the ride too :)

The little boy I rode with had never been on the ride before. His mom and sister were behind us. He was telling me how much he liked the Barnstormer and that he'd been on Big Thunder but didn't like it as much...I told him this was right in the middle of the two and he would have a great time. He was very talkative and super adorable.

Aww how cute!

Yep. Be Our Guest, table for one found and food ordered only 15 minutes in advance. Can't beat that luck, can you??

WHAT!!??! There is hope for me yet! I didn't get a lunch ADR for our upcoming trips...but now I am regretting it and of course there are none left.

I went with the coq au vin style pork (anyone else think this is such a weird description considering "coq" in French is rooster? I get that they're talking about the style of the dish, but it still makes me laugh every time!)

This was sooooo good. I was incredibly happy to finally have a good meal!! My food luck seemed to be changing!

I love this dish! But yours looks better than any one I have ever had before. That's why I want to go back for lunch!!!

And we all survived the is-it-a-date-or-not thing from last night. X is two months from being 14, but I like to pretend he's about 6. Six year olds don't date. Awww, sweet.

So I was in line for the People Mover to keep out of the rain...Remember a few months ago when some lady sued Disney b/c she was injured on the People Mover and everyone was like, "Lol, it's so slow, how does that even happen??" Well, I was sitting there messing with my phone and we went around one of the curves and it threw me sideways and I whacked my head on the side, so...don't sit with your legs crossed in the middle of the seat because it goes faster than you think :rotfl:

No I agree, the car kind of whips you around the curves and I always end up sliding over a bit.

I never seem to be smiling in these?? Selfies are so stressful. (although part of me is so glad they're all awkward, giving me a theme, LOL!) But I ended up with the whole castle in this one, so it's a win!

Cute!! It's the perfect selfie! I always have a double chin in mine. But maybe it's because I actually have a double chin. :crazy2:

SO exciting to see Tiana in her flapper outfit with Naveen and Louis!

This is so cool to see! I always miss this show but it looks so cute!

It was the biggest dole whip float ever! I couldn't even take a picture before I had to scoop up and eat the edges, it was overflowing!

Oh yum.

I had a bad feeling about this, and texted DH that I was stuck on Splash right next to Br'er Bear's cave...which was emitting a loud snoring sound. DH snores. My dogs snore. One of the best parts of this trip was sleeping with NO snoring all night long...and here I was stuck next to a snoring bear!! It figures.

Hahahaha

That same guest who was on her phone also was not watching her child and he almost fell trying to climb back INTO the log. Then a wasp flew by us and she almost stepped off the side and into the water because she screamed and jumped back. And she would not quit asking the CMs about replacing her fast pass, even though they told her it would be taken care of after we were no longer on a slippery wet narrow ledge next to water.

I wasn't a fan.

Anyway, we were led down the stairs and through a tiny bit of backstage, where we were greeted with a line of CMs handing us paper fast passes and bottles of water and apologizing profusely.

Personally, I thought the whole experience was pretty cool!

Some guests care more about their FPs than anything else! :rotfl:
I would be super annoyed at her too.

But yeah I would think that would be a cool experience! And free water and FP...what more could you ask for? :thumbsup2

Hello!!

Happy Friday!

I will come back this weekend sometime to quote and add an update...I pulled a muscle or something in my back/neck on my left side and DH suggested I make a big drink to try and relax. I shouldn't be typing on the internet right now and I have had to delete and retype so many words in this post already...I'm out of practice.

Coated in tiger balm, full of aleve, pretty close to drunk...and my jeep comes in tomorrow! I can't turn my head to the left without a horrible shooting pain, so driving it will be fun (no back up camera like my acura) if I don't feel better.

Have a great weekend and I will be back with a new post soon!

Oh no I hope you feel better! Pulled a muscle in my neck a couple of weeks ago and it was brutal so I feel your pain. Have a good weekend!

Jeep day!! :dogdance::dogdance:

As close to the excitement level of a Disney day as you can get...at least for me! It's an almost 20 year old dream coming true. Here's a not so great picture I snapped really quickly in the parking lot at DH's work when we had to stop by to pick something up:

I love it so much. I told DH I was going to get a blanket and a lawn chair and sleeping in the garage to keep her company :lovestruc

It's so true!

Haha I wouldn't either. I've just heard that sometimes they do collide kind of hard so someone could get hurt but unless you were doing something weird I don't think you'd break a leg :rotfl:

Maybe they didn't follow the "no dancing" rules?? Or they fell down the ramp (something about that makes me want to laugh, picturing someone tumbling down down down...I might be a bad person)

I love the Awkward Selfies! (But they are not awkward!)

Even thought I love Epcot, I really think the magic moment is seeing the Castle for the first time on every trip!

I said the same thing! I was like...WHAT?!?

I would be super annoyed at her too.

But yeah I would think that would be a cool experience! And free water and FP...what more could you ask for? :thumbsup2

Yes, seeing the castle always gives me the "I'm home!" moment!!

I could not believe my BOG luck!! And my food did look really pretty...now if only fast food burgers ended up looking like they do on television!

When I'm not awkwarding it up at Disney, I usually take my selfies with the camera held up pretty high and angled...otherwise I end up with a double chin. In an effort to avoid it in person and not photos, I just use way too much bronzer in an attempt to contour. I'm a mess, what can I say?

It was a much needed Dole Whip...although I still say the ones in Disneyland are better. I think it's the umbrella and cherry. I wish WDW would get in on the umbrella/cherry action!!

I really wonder what she'd have done if she fell in the water?? Would she still want the fast pass?? It'd be a whoooole other kind of ride :rotfl2:

Oh no I hope you feel better! Pulled a muscle in my neck a couple of weeks ago and it was brutal so I feel your pain. Have a good weekend!

Oh no, I'm sorry you pulled a muscle in your neck too! It's so uncomfortable and I just hate feeling like I have no control over my own movement!

I hope you can drive that new Jeep!

Feel better!

I still have neck pain, but I drove it!!

Aw I hope you feel better!

thank you :lovestruc

Couldn't bring myself to "like" that post. Feel better soon!!

Aw, thank you! I hope it works itself out soon, it's so annoying!!

I like how you are handling your neck pain ;)

Haha!! The good part about getting liquored up early in the day is that it wears off in time to function normally later on! I wish I could say it worked, but it was a fun experiment, LOL!! Would have been better if I'd also been floating in a pool, though!
