You asked for it! Hahah. It's all good that people love any resort, but here is why we love Pop:
1. Dedicated buses. When going back to the resort, you can also take an Art of Animation bus and walk to Pop which we have done once before.
2. 3 different pools to choose from, good variety at the food court, and also the choice to use Art of Animation food court.
3. This one is probably the most important to us but a lot may not care about it - Hourglass lake. We always get a lake-facing room and seeing the lake and AofA across the lake at night makes for a great atmosphere. You also have a really good view of Hollywood Studios fireworks from Hourglass Lake, and rent bikes to ride around which is pretty fun.
I guess those are the main points, but really there's just something about the atmosphere/environment that we love at Pop. The rooms are also getting a refurb and new layout. I'm not sure if this will be good or bad.
We've done all meals at BOG. We prefer lunch. If
I would do QS. I think it is a very nice experience to see the inside of the castle (it snows outside the windows)and the food is good but I also think you can get much better food for a TS credit elsewhere. So if the beast is not important definitely do QS.
Am I the only one who thinks Pop is over rated and the All Stars are equally good. I stayed all both and actually like All Stars better for a few reasons....
1. Sharing buses yes but.....at park closing they always send multiple buses or individual All Star buses, plus you can get on whatever one comes first and walk to you respective resort since they are so close
2. Since they are so close you can go to any of their restaurants and lobbies and pools, if you are looking for a change
3. Room sizes, theming, lay out , are all similar so quality of rooms are the same
JUST NOT SURE WHAT THE HYPE IS ALL ABOUT WITH POP? (Please don't shoot me POP fans, just my opinion)
Us too. We love BOG lunch and do it several times every trip! The only thing I liked about BOG dinner was meeting the Beast. I wouldn't do it again probably except for that reason. We didn't like the dinner food for the price. We've done all meals at BOG. We prefer lunch.
Has anyone had any luck adding additional days to a CBR ressie that has FD and the gift cards?
I've gotten different responses from cast members. Yes- will get additional $75 gc for each night. No-only gc original booking.
The email i got that explains the construction/ gc only has my check-in date, not length of stay. We plan on tacking on a few days at the end.
ANyone experienced this yet?
Thanks a bunch!!
So I was lucky and nabbed a standard pool view at POP for the last two weeks of August as soon as free dining dropped. My plan was to switch to a plain old standard room if one became available, thinking I would save about $140 by doing that. Today that standard room opened up, but now I see I will only save about $80 by switching. We've never stayed in a pool view room, but I know when you walk along that side of the building, you also get views of the statues - Baloo, Lady and the Tramp, etc. and they are part of why we love POP as a resort so... do you think the pool view option is worth $6 per day, or should I switch us like I originally planned?
Did anyone ever figure out what the $TY in the reservation means? I assumed it was for the CBR gift cards however my reservation has this in it and I'm booked at the Poly? Also, I still got the (TBX) and I never figured out what that means either. I know I should just let it go and be happy I got FD for 2 rooms with 6 people for 12 days (big money saved, YAYYY) and that's all that really matters but it's just the curiosity is getting the best of me. CM's aren't much help either. At least now I have a new mission to focus on. Haha

I switched from ASsp preferred to pop standard and it took several hours to show up in mde!I've added 1 day to my package yesterday making it November 25 to December 1. I even got a confirmation from Disney but it is still showing November 25-30 in My Disney Experience :/ Should I be worried?
A view of the lake would be lovely, I need to look up what buildings would have that and request it. I think you are right, quieter is a good thing. I'll go see if that standard room is still available and make the switch. Thanks!I would stick with your original plan of a standard view room. It is cheaper and will be much quieter than the pool view room (if that is important to you). Many standard rooms have views of Hourglass Lake which is lovely. You can even see Hollywood Studios fireworks from right outside your room.
Also. Interestingly enough I clicked and more resorts are open under the visa offer for my dates than the regular offer. /QUOTE]
This is because inventory is different for each offer.
I've heard others say that too but we've had good luck.Did I just have a bad experience here? I love atmosphere and thought it would be a no brainer lunch spot (had been to dinner in 2012 and didn't care for it) but all of our food was cold. Especially the fries. Was this just a one off? We will have a 3 QS to use at MK and so far I've planned CHH, PB, and Casey's.
I'm not sure any quick service is fabulousI enjoy the atmosphere at BOG, and I always get the prime rib sandwich, which is good, not fabulous just good. My son-in-law likes the French Onion Soup. I didn't book it for this year. The food isn't terrible, it's just not fabulous.
