I asked this earlier but no one answered me...I booked FD yesterday and got a total of $7465, even my confirmation email yesterday said that was my package price. Today I got a payment received email that says my package total is $6405. Thats almost a thousand difference. Everything on both emails is the same (res #, tickets, dining plan, room, etc). I'm afraid to call because I don't want to bring their attention to it if it's a mistake, but I don't want to have problems when I get there with not paying or something. Anyone heard of something like this?

I remember reading yesterday where that happened to someone else. Theirs was off by I think around $700?? They called and the CM said the system had been acting glitchy and the lower cost was correct. If I were you, I would go through and start to book a new reservation starting with room only and no discount, then add the same tickets you purchased, and compare the totals. Also if you upgraded to the regular dining plan just add in the upgrade cost. Your FD package total should = room+tickets+tax (+upgrade cost if you upgraded). See which total is right. I bet it's the lower one.

Advice from those who have stayed at POP and Coronado. I am torn between the 2. I can save $600 by going to POP, but Coronado looks so much nicer in the pictures. Is it worth $600?

No, my 16 year old got back recently from a school trip from Coronado, and we as a family only stay value and she said she likes values better. I too have stated at POR once and prefer value. But was interested to see that she agreed. Her opinion, too spread out, and didn't get good use of mugs cause it was a 10 minute walk to refill it. To me, I'd rather spend $600 on souvenirs or fun adult beverages than a hotel room that is just a few square feet bigger than a value.

Did anyone ever figure out what the $TY in the reservation means? I assumed it was for the CBR gift cards however my reservation has this in it and I'm booked at the Poly? Also, I still got the (TBX) and I never figured out what that means either. I know I should just let it go and be happy I got FD for 2 rooms with 6 people for 12 days (big money saved, YAYYY) and that's all that really matters but it's just the curiosity is getting the best of me. CM's aren't much help either. At least now I have a new mission to focus on. Haha

Am I the only one who thinks Pop is over rated and the All Stars are equally good. I stayed all both and actually like All Stars better for a few reasons....

1. Sharing buses yes but.....at park closing they always send multiple buses or individual All Star buses, plus you can get on whatever one comes first and walk to you respective resort since they are so close
2. Since they are so close you can go to any of their restaurants and lobbies and pools, if you are looking for a change
3. Room sizes, theming, lay out , are all similar so quality of rooms are the same

JUST NOT SURE WHAT THE HYPE IS ALL ABOUT WITH POP? (Please don't shoot me POP fans, just my opinion)

We're booked! 12/8-12/14; AS S!
Me, and my two teens; DS will be a senior this next school year.
I put my mom on the reservation too, she and DS have only visited WDW once, 10/09; DD and I have been back twice since then, 10/13, and 10/14. I'm super excited to see the parks all done up for the holidays!

I made this same decision today. Traveling 8/15 to 8/21 on the Visa offer, and there was no POP available so I booked CSR. Today POP was available (though it wouldnt work online - had to call to change.)

I went with POP. There is a lengthy post on another site which makes this exact comparison for FD and they came to the same conclusion. The small amount of extra space and the queen beds just aren't worth 80 a night to me.

I really enjoyed ASMo. It's excluded from FD and ASSp and ASMu don't appeal to me thematically as POP! but I think the All-stars are great! I have no expectation that POP! is better than them, it just pencils out cheaper and I prefer the theming.

I had to book 9/28 to 10/7 instead of 9/30 to 10/7 at POR to get FD- does anyone know if I call in a few days once wait times slow down if they will knock the 2 days I really didn't need and I can keep FD? Thanks!!!

You asked for it! Hahah. It's all good that people love any resort, but here is why we love Pop:

1. Dedicated buses. When going back to the resort, you can also take an Art of Animation bus and walk to Pop which we have done once before.
2. 3 different pools to choose from, good variety at the food court, and also the choice to use Art of Animation food court.
3. This one is probably the most important to us but a lot may not care about it - Hourglass lake. We always get a lake-facing room and seeing the lake and AofA across the lake at night makes for a great atmosphere. You also have a really good view of Hollywood Studios fireworks from Hourglass Lake, and rent bikes to ride around which is pretty fun.

I guess those are the main points, but really there's just something about the atmosphere/environment that we love at Pop. The rooms are also getting a refurb and new layout. I'm not sure if this will be good or bad.

Good because I couldn't get POP and have ASMu. Hehe.

It's been awhile but glad to see you got something--personally we have always stayed at AS and have always enjoyed it (I should tell you that we are park people and not resort people--rope drop and late nights)--we feel that they have the best buses of any resorts (including POP, sorry for those I offended)--what's great about music is that after a long day--you can jump on whichever bus gets there first and your only a short walk across a parking lot--saved us a ton of time in the past. You may have a bit of a longer walk to the food court vs. the other 2 but the ability to jump on any of the three buses at the end of the day--can't beat it.

Please let me know if you are successful! Those were our exact dates 11/18-11/26 at CBR. I was able to modify to free dining online, but had to change check in until 11-19. I'd really like the extra night. It's a long 2 day drive for us and I'd much rather check in later Saturday night and rest for Sunday then stay off site Saturday night. I have a second reservation for those same dates, and I'd be glad to try to drop but have no clue if rooms drop like dining reservations do???

No luck in getting those dates. Pirate room was available but that is all. Didn't want the pirate rooms so passed.

We are also rope drop to close. We sleep and shower there.

We will have our car and we drive to the parks so no problem there.

We have preferred room so should be pretty close to food court. Why is it a longer walk then the other ones?

No, just the set up--if you are preferred I believe you are in bldgs 1, 2, 9, or 10--YOU ARE ALL SET! Music branches out from the main bldg almost like a tree--those 4 bldgs would make up the trunk, so to speak--your walk will not be far at all. Music is set up different than the other two so if you are in a standard room you have walk by the length of both of the bldgs to access the other rooms. Also the front of your bldg is right across from the big pool. It's funny cause prior to deciding to go all out and stay at Poly this time--our choices were preferred at ASSp (football field--kids love it) or preferred at Music. And like I said, music being between the other 2 helps out more than you know at the end of the day. You should be very happy with your choice--SCREW POP! jk haha (and remember, if you really want to switch new stuff opens up all the time)--we've always gotten whatever our first choice was and I've never gone as crazy planning as I did this year. Usually I wait for the initial rush to die down and book about a month later.

Happened to us too. In the frantic Monday drop, our plan A, B, and C fell through. Plan D was a All Stars family suite. In the checkout process the price jumped from 6300 to7400. In the confirmation email the correct price of 6300 was confirmed.

Also, the walk to the parking lot is not bad at all--if you stay on the back side of one of those bldgs you can see it. The roads curve so the length of your walk will change depending on location of the room but it is not bad at all--2-3 minutes maybe. You also cannot beat the price, this is why we've always stayed at AS. Like we've all talked about--on this thread we are all a "bit" more anal and controlling than most so once we're in the parks, your enjoyment is based on how well you planned it, not where you stay. Only reason we are at Poly I think is because the grandparents want the grandkids to see the same experience that mom had 30+ years ago--trip down memory lane for them I think.

I'm about to cancel a Pop prefered pool view w/ FD for checkin 9/30.
Hopefully someone from Disboards can grab it when it goes back into inventory.

I've got nothing against the AllStars. I've had two great stays at Music, but I just love the theming and vibe at Pop! If you stay in a room facing Hourglass Lake, you do not even feel like you're at a Value resort. Many nights we sat on Generation GaP bridge and watched the Star Wars fireworks or Illuminations in the distance. So peaceful. :goodvibes
