If I can't modify online, I plan on booking another mod room (if I can get one) with FD. Then when phone lines open up at 6, I will try to call and modify my original reservation with them....if I can do that, then I will cancel the other reservation I made online

I changed my dates through my TA and kept my gift cards. They viewed it as a modification :)

Hello everyone! I just signed up a few minutes ago so I could say thank you before it really gets crazy around here! I've actually been following these Free Dining threads for about 4 years now because we've being doing Free Dining every year for quite sometime. I started reading this current one at the end of February because I've learned this is the best place for all the current info. Every year, I learn so much and am always prepared for the big drop because of the wise people here. We've always gotten the exact thing we were looking for and are hoping for that this year, too! Again, thank you all so much for helping me out all these years. Sorry it took so long for me to say so!:thanks:

Your Welcome and :welcome:

Newbie here! I am planning my first ever trip to WDW!!! I apologize if any of my questions have already been answered in recent pages.

If I book FD tomorrow, how do modifications work? We want to fly non-stop from Louisville on Southwest, but Southwest has not yet released their flight schedules for December. They are supposed to be released in mid-May, but sometimes they release the schedules earlier than they had previously stated. We want to get at least 6 full days in the park. I want to check-in the weekend of 12/9 and checkout the weekend of 12/16. Should I go ahead and book for Friday 12/8 check-in and Sunday 12/17 checkout, then just drop days later? How late can I change check-out dates without losing FD? How late can I change check-in dates without losing FD? When I change check-in dates, is that like starting all over with a new ressie altogether?

You used to be able to decrease days without losing the promotion, but now the whole thing will have to be rebooked with the new dates. If it's available and the promo is still good you can do it. Others had better luck calling to do this. It's a crapshoot though!

ok st
I've been popping in from time to time to get info for a friend (I'm renting points so no FD for me).

I wish you all good luck tomorrow morning!!

One thing I wanted to mention, don't forget to log in very close to when you start refreshing. The Disney site will time you out even though it says "Welcome 5DisneyNuts" at the top of the screen. You will go through grabbing what you want and when you are ready to check out you will have to log in again. Not the worst thing but will make things take a little longer.

Also, make sure you have your CC linked and active on your account (especially the Visa if you have).

I'll have my fingers crossed that you get what you want.

ok stupid question since everytime I ask anything no one actually answers me lol .... where do you go to actually upgrade on the website if you already have reservations.. Also if it doesn't work what is the best number to call . Last year I was on hold seriously for 3 hours. LOL Thankfully I had a great boss that definitely understood my madness lol but this year new boss and she doesn't even get why we keep going. whatever lol
Thanks!!

If you modify your dates and there is no FD availability for the new dates, you will lose FD. WDW no longer allows people to simply subtract dates from a reservation. If you want to book tomorrow, I would make your best guess as to what your dates will actually be knowing that if you have to change dates you may either lose the promo or need to switch resorts and/or room categories to maintain FD with the rooms available when you switch dates.

Within your reservation information - there should be a change or modify bottom the right of your details. Some can be hanged online and others will tell you to call (and I think the number is listed there).

:)

This is OT but has anyone been to O'hana and paid OOP? If so, how much was it per adult?
I am not sure per adult but in Nov 2015 this was our Thanksgiving meal. Husband and myself and two teens (adults in the price of Disney) With a generous tip it was $220 for all of us. And you had to wheelbarrow us out! Stuffed does not even cover it! So good

It certainly feels like a crapshoot!

I guess that's the whole name of the game with FD - just taking your best guess :teacher:

Question: We have never visited the park November/December time. If we go during FD the week of November 25 or December 8, is it really necessary to worry about signing up for Fast Pass 60 days out?

We go the Saturday after Thanksgiving every year, and it's definitely necessary to get your FP at 60 days out for the big ones, like Seven Dwarves, TSMM, etc. Those standby lines can get very long even at that time of year!

I think the last time we took advantage of free dining was in 2012 and i don't remember it being this frenzied!! I wasn't really following any forums, just heard about it and called at 7am one morning, was on hold for about and hour and done. This is the first year I've actually followed a FD thread!! Has it always been this crazy??? (as well as informative, entertaining and fun?)
