The reason some of us think this is because the general public FD usually follows the BB and the BB ended Sept 9th with nothing until December. Also this promo was initially intended to fill the rooms because SARS was stopping travel, now that the rooms are filling without any help of a discount they don't need to offer it. Over the last couple of years the dates and room availability have been getting less and less.

I believe it was more the economic downturn in the US that fueled it. It just happens that SARS was at around at about the same time. The economic issues lasted longer and were more widespread than SARS was in North America.

I went online a few days ago and priced out a trip for CBR for December and the gift card was offered. Not sure why it wouldn't be in May but maybe something I don't understand.

There's an email now that says CBR must be booked by March 18th to receive the $75 gift card offer.

I wasn't planning on joining in this year, but I just can not stay away. It is DH and Mine 15 year anniversary this October. If I could snag FD at a value resort we might be able go and celebrate. We went for our honeymoon and I ended up incredibly sick, so sick we had to leave early and could not even take a plane back home. So I would love a redo.

Congrats!! My wife and I are celebrating 10 years in October!!! We are planning a December trip this time!

I was looking at another site today that said the CBR gift card offer is currently being offered to people booking through June 2018.

That's a good sign for us FD watchers if they're saying you cant get the CBR gift card if you book after 3/18. I had a feeling they wouldn't let you double dip with the FD and GC! Maybe FD will drop next week!?!?!

I definitely think there is a better chance that CBR will be part of the FD promotion now that the gift card will not be available for new bookings.

when I boooked my FD BB CBR was availAble but only pirate rooms. That's how we ended up at WL! WL standard was about the same price as CBR pirate!

Hmmmm.....I don't see how they could unless they are going to have some amazing room and ticket package for this period, the numbers are just to far down.

Take this for what it's worth. If you go to Disney's site and try to book CBR for September all the standard rooms are gone. I went to cheaptickets the the other night and searched Disney Resorts. It pops up and says 75% of this resort is booked for my dates. If that's true there's absolutely no incentive for Disney to offer a discount. I'm not sure I believe the 75% figure. Like I said, take it for what it's worth.

My mom and I were just laughing about all of our FD drama last year! I stayed up all night and at 4am put a standard CBR in my cart, I opened another page to see if POR-R was available and then lost both! I was only able to snag a WL standard right when FD dropped. I called my mom at 4am and she was able to get a Riverside King! Then a few days later I was able to switch my family to CBR standard. a few days after that I got my parents a CBR water view. Then a few days later I was able to get my parents a standard CBR! I was checking literally 20x a day! Lol In the end it was all worth it because we all got exactly what we wanted! Don't give up!!! We went the last week of August so I do believe there was a little more availability. But even after we got what we wanted I still looked and kept seeing new rooms open up!

I just booked a standard room today at CBR for September. I guess I was lucky.

The Chip & Co. site posted today that the $75 gift card is being offered for reservations booked by March 19th, for travel from May 1, 2017 - June 30, 2018.

Oh great hahaha with my luck free dining is going to drop on Monday at the same time I am trying to make all of my ADR's since that is my 180 day mark!

Ok so I have 2 standard rooms booked for CBR for dec 16-23. So when FD comes out, if my dates are included, if I have to change to the pirate rooms will I still recieve the gift cards if I just modify the reservation and don't re book?

That's a good question. If you are changing a room, even just to modify, aren't you actually changing the reservation? I don't know.

Just keep in mind, your room type may be excluded from FD to keep from giving out gift cards along with the FD offer.
