I just want to throw shoes and rotten tomatoes at Bob Chapek. Boo hiss.
I will never become accustomed to alcohol in the parks.
I've played my share of beer pong, and still enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, but I do not like alcohol being sold at Disney parks. EPCOT is not a place for my kids after dark, with all the drunk frat boys acting stupid, and I loathed explaining to my kids what the girl in the too short dress at Universal meant when she said, "And I'm not saying this just because I'm drunk, but I want him to ____me." I hope they limit it to only inside restaurants, no beer kiosks or walking around beverages.
While I agree that the "stupid" behavior is really disappointing, I don't believe that everyone needs to be restricted because of the behavior of a few,
We were there last fall for EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival, and yes, we did witness disgusting behavior from some who used the park as their personal "drunk place". We tried to have a nice meal inside Rose & Crown, and frankly, due to the drunks in the pub, couldn't even hear the server, and finally ordered something we could eat quickly and exit. There was a Disney security guard in uniform who kept coming in to the pub, and did nothing except watch the drunks, then leave. The drunks totally ignored him.
The area behind UK, where they have loud bands was a free-for all.
The first thing I though of is "where are the security people and why are the ones who are there so ineffective? Why are they letting these people ruin the experience of many others"...but the second thing I realized was that there were lots of parents with very small children at the parks very late, and many of them were drinking right along with the everyone else.
MY OPINION: There are plenty of people who drink responsibly. There are SOME who drink irresponsibility. Why should I, as a responsible person who enjoys tasting the beverages from many countries, be subjected to either the scenario of: a) NOT being allowed to sample these beverages, or b) being subjected to the drunk and disorderly.
People who are disorderly, for whatever reason, should be asked to leave the park, and assisted in that if necessary.
