Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi all, the last two days have been great as well. We are so lucky to have such fabulous weather. Stormalong Bay is open 9-10 but we did notice that there is no-one at the gate scanning magic bands from about 5:30 until close. The slide has been closed since late Sunday afternoon and they are not expecting it to be open until the weekend. No real word as to why it is closed. One hot tub is really chilly and the other one does not have the jets working. So definitely a few issues around the pool that need to be taken care of.

We did the "Marceline to Magic" tour this morning and it was phenomenal. If you have not done this tour, I highly, highly recommend it. Had a terrific lunch at Whispering Canyon after MK today and ate our weight in ice cream at Beaches and Cream tonight. We are looking forward to a relaxing resort day tomorrow followed by dinner at Narcoosees. I am never leaving........

There's a third hot tub in the middle between the lazy river loop and the kid's section. Maybe the third one's the charm? :)

Hi everybody. Just checking in. Things are going good here in Vegas. House is ahead of schedule, I got good mammo results and am officially over the 5 year hurdle. We are heading to Huntington Beach on Saturday and will be visiting Disneyland too. I miss Bob and Florida so much but am adjusting to my new normal! I so miss my Disney friends and our chats in the lobby but now I chat with second graders .... Which makes me miss you all even more!!!! Hopefully when Lily and I are at WDW in September, we will run into a few of you!
Happy you're settling in to your new normal. And hous ahead of schedule...wow that doesn't happen often. Do you volunteer in Jeanne's room? I thought you'd be home with Lily.
Nice to hear from you!
Deb :)

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered but do the renovated studios have sleeping for 5 now? Like 2 queen beds and a day bed? Thank you!

:welcome: to the thread.

Please let us know if you end up booking either at the resort or BCV.

Hi all, I am a long time lurker of this thread. We stayed at YC GV last August for 2 weeks and I've been suffering from post-Disney depression since we got back (we are from the UK & as we got engaged on this trip:lovestruc we need to save for a wedding, so I don't know when our next WDW trip will be- hopefully a Disneymoon!) so I've only just been going through the photos recently. I took a couple of pictures from our balcony for Dee to add to the YC room view thread if it would be helpful, as I read so much helpful advice on here when we were planning our trip that hopefully I can contribute these to future planners:) our only room request was for a quiet location, and we got room 3012, I think. It was in the very last wing of YC, closest to Swan/Dolphin, and our room was right at the end of a hall. As I said, we booked GV and straight ahead we had a view of a bit of a canal and some large trees, but if we looked to the left we had a partial water view of Crescent Lake & a bit of Boardwalk :) we were able to see some of the Frozen fireworks from our balcony too. When we checked in I asked if there were any 'secret exits' by the room and the CM gave me a bit of a funny look :rolleyes1 but said there were exit stairs right across the hallway from our room. We used this entrance/exit most of the time as it was a lot quicker and more scenic to walk along the waterfront than through the winding hallways- unless we were really hot & then we went with the longer internal walk for the A/C! Anyway, here are the links to imgur where I have uploaded the photos, hopefully they work
Thank you to all the contributors on this thread who make this such a fun & informative place to hang out :worship::thanks:

Thank you so much for posting to the thread!

:welcome:

I will add your description and some pictures to the YC View Thread.

Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you back when you plan your next Disney trip.

We just got back from our first stay at the Yacht Club - and loved it!! We were in room 3001 - literally the furthest away from the lobby that you could be. Since they had upgraded us from garden to lagoon/pool view, I wasn't about to complain. ;) There were stairs + a door to the outside near us, and we just took advantage of that. Being able to watch the boats and Illuminations from our room made it totally worth it. =)

Other than that - we LOVED Stormalong Bay, especially the lazy river (though I was glad my kids are older and strong swimmers, it's hard to keep track of everyone there!). We had dinner one night at Captain's Grille and would give it 5 enthusiastic thumbs up. I'm sure we'll be back in the future!

:welcome: to posting on this thread and thank you so much for the review and pictures!

I'll add your info to the YC View Thread.

Hope you will stick around here and join in the fun.

Excited to report that I booked our last leg at the Beach Club- September 28th-October 2nd :). We are staying at Uni for a few days then Bay Lake Tower and ending the fun at the BC.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

Sounds like a FABULOUS line-up for your trip!

Hi! Our family of five is booked for our YC stay from 9/3-9/7, park hopping 3 days. I have a question that I have really tried to find the answer to in these forums, but I cannot, so I am sorry if the answer is some place I just couldn't dig through: We have been going back and forth regarding upgrading to CL for our stay. But when I went online and then asked my TA, no CL rooms are showing availability. Does anyone know if this might change? Is this common? Thanks in advance!

:welcome:

I'll put you on the list.

:woohoo:

Let us know if you decide to change to BC CL or if you are able to book YC CL.

As others have said, we don't know if rooms are being kept out of inventory for renovation, or if there are other reasons there is no availability.

:thumbsup2

Across the street from this Target there is a Publix too - it was an older store but had everything we needed. We didn't know about the Target when we headed out in our Uber, which was AWESOME!!
Our Uber to the Publix over by Super Target was $9 there and $12 back due to the toll road she took - still very, very reasonsable!!

Thanks for this info. I will eventually be putting together a shopping post for the FAQ and I will add this.

So since to hear from Teena!!! :grouphug:

So 16 days out and I have to itch to switch back to CL.... I'm such a CL addict. YC CL is almost $100/nt cheaper than BC CL.....argh
What would my SAB friends do? Leave it??? Go to YC?? I have breakfast ADRs booked, so by eating in the CL I might be able to justify a switch.
:rolleyes::faint:

Hi All,
I haven't visited the thread at all and am still catching up (Teena retired?!?!?!!?). I wanted to drop a quick Hi! and say we just booked a trip for the end of April so please add us to the guest list. We'll be at the BC Apr 21- Apr 27. We are looking forward to coming back "home"!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Hi all my BC/YC friends! We arrived Saturday around lunch time and things have been fantastic!
*snip*
I'll keep you all posted on the rest of our adventures!

Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know how your vacation is going. Glad to hear your trip is off to great start!

:woohoo:

Hi, everyone,
After planning to stay at BC for last year's F&W and then having to cancel, I'm happy to announce that we are booked using rented points in BCV for January 5-January 9 in a studio. Me and DH along with our twin girls who will be 13. DH and I will be running the Goofy challenge and am really excited that my girls will be able to just go out on the boardwalk to watch us run by as we head toward the marathon finish!

This thread is so great and has wonderful information. I'm happy to see renovations have begun on the BCV side and am figuring they will all be done by the time we arrive in January. While my girls will be 13, they are pretty small in size and they hate to share a bed (I guess those 9 months in utero together did them in) and so I'm hoping with the refurbishments that we'll have the extra murphy bed for one of them to sleep on. At least I hope so. Thanks so much to everyone who contributes and all the great information!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:worship::worship: on the Goofy!

:cheer2:

So excited!!!! I went to Sam's Club to buy a whole bunch of packs of $150 giftcards for $142.98, merged them all and paid off my trip!!!!! I saved over $100! Not a huge savings, but anything helps. I never have my trips paid off this soon! Flights are booked, dining adrs are booked, now we just wait for FP's! 173 days until our first stay at Beach Club!!!! Just had to share my excitement! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Thanks for the tip!

My son's middle school has a fundraiser where you can order gift cards at face value and a percentage of the sales is donated to the school. I purchase Sam's Club gift cards from them, and use them to purchase the discounted cards at Sam's. That way the school makes out and I get additional savings for money I would be spending anyway.

:thumbsup2

Booked 2 YC CL rooms for our 4th of July/my son's 8th birthday trip! (We have 6 kids, hence the 2 rooms.) We stayed last 4th of July week too. Can't wait to be back at SAB!
July 3-8th

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the list.

Yes, we really want to stay at yc/bc in Aug but there has been and is literally no availability. Disappointed about that. I jumped on the awaken summer offer the moment it became available and absolutely no yc/bc but there was a boardwalk standard room at 30% off which I think is a good deal so I snagged that. At least we're in the general area that we wanted to be in.

I love your Disney math. :rolleyes1 How much more is YC CL than your current BC SV room? That is the real difference. ;)

By the way, considering your history of club level stays, I would spring for the YC CL over the BC SV. :)

Does anyone know when I should expect to receive my magic express luggage tags?
I would expect them in a few days. If you don't receive them at least 20 days out, then I would call to make sure they are on their way.

You should mention this when you check into the BCV. They can look up your reservation and see if you have a daybed in your BC room. If you don't have a daybed then they can block off a room with a daybed so that it won't be given to anyone else. We routinely do this when we travel with family who are arriving on a later day than we are. :)

Thank you! I will be sure to mention it when we check into the BCV.

The 2 nights with the agency offer at BC SV were $868 and for YC SV CL $1194 with the AP rate (BC SV CL was a bit more)...so $326 more. HOWEVER, for the reason you listed, and I will admit it- I am a spoiled CL brat. I switched. Surprisingly DH is NOT mad. He said he'd rather have breakfast in the lounge than be tied down to ADRs. Then DH laughed because he said I always go full circle and end up changing to my initial booking (he's right ;) )

16 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still debating on if I should cancel the Star Wars Dessert party, but I think the location for viewing will be awesome. That said from the BC last year we had a great view of Frozen fireworks from our room. I feel like we should keep the party. Decisions....at least I'm not changing resorts again :)

I booked my res through Orbitz. I will still get the luggage tags right? I filled out the magical express stuff a while ago and have the confirmation email and all that stuff. However, I've seen a lot of old posts on this site from people saying they didnt get their tags and they booked through Orbitz.

Luggage Tags (matching your magic bands with disney characters) for name and address will not be given to you. Yellow paper tags for magical express will be sent to you if you gave them all your flight information and correct mailing address. You can always call magical express to double check.

ooOOOooo see I had no idea there were two different things. The posts I saw kept saying they never got their luggage tags and I just assumed they meant the yellow tags you get so magical express can pick up your bags. This is my first time going to Disney so I'm new to all this!

I've used Orbitz 4 times, but only needed magical express twice. I've never had problem getting the yellow tags, but i always remember calling magical express directly to give them my flight info.

Good to hear! We used the magical express website to fill out our information to request the service. I have all the emails and the confirmation saying we have magical express all set and they will send us the tags. It just confused me when I saw people complaining about not receiving luggage tags.

How soon before your trips did you get your yellow tags? Do you happen to remember?

We booked two trips through Orbitz and got our yellow DME luggage tags both times. :)

Ugh!!! Really annoyed. Virgin Atlantic cancelled our reserved seats days after I booked and paid for them, they never told me and never gave me my money back. Only found out today when I went to the TA to pay off our holiday and she couldn't link our bookings together. Now we cant get extra leg room seats as the only ones left are over the exit and DD is only 12 (you have to be 16 to sit there). We're now sitting in two rows so that DH can have room as he is over 6 foot!
