WDW for Couples - Post your questions and suggestions here!!!

Was also hoping to surprise hubby with an Africa Wild Tour (if I can save up the $), has anyone done this tour? Reviews?

We did get to do the DiveQuest on our last trip (we're both divers) and while it was definitely an experience one we probably wouldn't do again. Not that we didn't enjoy it, but for the cost it was a "been there, done that" type of tour.

It looks like the DTD expansion will include more adult centered upscale restaurants. I am hope they bring back at least one adult club but I don't think that will happen. Any thoughts?
adventures club in still there. :dance3:
This may sound silly but we've never been to WDW without kids so there's quite a but if adult stuff we don't know. We are doing in July for 5 nights alone and so excited, but my question is, since we're staying offsite how do we get to the boardwalk area? We've never been there with our kids but we'd like to go this time. Thanks
you can drive to the bw. if its not a busy time, they will let you park there. if they are busy, they will tell you to valet park.
Would love to see a couples sticky!

DH (44) and I (39) will be headed to the World in Oct. 2015 for F&W. This will be our first "alone" trip over our 19th anniversary. While we don't have children (by choice) DH's first trip was in 2005 with 13 of my closest family. We went again in 2011 with his BFF, wife, and two boys. We decided the next trip was for us and us alone.

While we had a fantastic time each time with the "others" we also felt like we were either "entertaining" or "being tour guides" the entire time. There was no personal time for us to do as we wish. The tentative game plan this time around is to splurge on a moderate (all previous trips were budget at PoP), buy park hoppers and water parks, and plan on getting moving early in the am, taking a water/nap break in the afternoon, and heading back in the evenings. We are both foodies who can't wait to try F&W.

:thumbsup2 you will have a blast!!!! it is a lot different when its just the two of you. keep you eye on line, f&w has all kinds of wine tasting etc... things that go on that you have to sign up for ahead of time, dw and I did a few over the years and they were worth the time. :thumbsup2

I had no clue that a club was left at DTD. What is it near? I want to go. I thought it was closed too and only available to rent for private parties.

its not open but the building and its contents are still there. walking from dtd (the shopping area) it is on the far end of what was pleasure island on the right. across from the comedy club.

I'm not into clubs... but the more adult stuff they add, the happier I am.

:lmao: my drinking days are over and the only way you could get me to dance was to get me drunk. :lmao: ( im the guy sitting there watching the purses. :lmao:)

Maybe you could sit with my DH while he holds my purse so I can dance (and DH is younger than me)! Age is a frame of mind, my body is 46 but my heart/mind is 21! YOLO

Lol. I'm 49 so we are close in age. I'm sure your dh and I could find something to talk about lol

Glad to find this! My DH and I have no kids by choice but enjoy going to WDW. We are going in August for our 10th anniversary and I can't wait!

I love this thread! I'm still in a very young marriage and have only gone to Disney World with my husband.

My question is: Would it be awkward for just me and my husband to meet characters? I could have met so many characters and I think it would be fun, but I would feel weird standing with a bunch of little kids! :rotfl:

We had our pictures taken with a lot of characters last time. At first it felt odd, but then I thought who cares! I had a blast doing it and love all my photos from that trip.

It's what you make of it. My husband (only 2 months in - still feels weird saying that!) and I last went to Disney 3 years ago. We were totally comfortable getting photos taken but to be honest, felt slightly odd waiting in a long line. We luckily went off season, so 9 times out of 10 there was no line or maybe one or two families.

Character meals are a great way to get in the mood for it though. Especially early in the trip. You can prepare yourself and possibly knock some photos off your list.

Have fun though! That's what vacations are for!

Still going thorough this thread but i figured I'd introduce myself :)

Newly (newly!!!!) married. Just 2 months in. Kids may be in our future but not for a bit. We do have 2 crazy cats that we refer to as our girls though. I'm 33, my husband is 34. We are new transplants to PA and love to travel.

Nice to meet all of you!!!

Welcome! DH and I love the characters. We get pictures at meals or during special events (MVMCP, MNSSHP, Chase Visa character photo op or DVC events) since I hate lines. We find the characters love interacting with adults. If you are into it they really let loose!

I think I have all of my ADRs complete for our Labor Day Weekend couples trip. I've changed them a hundred times, and they are still not set in stone. Would love opinions from other couples. We are also planing on eating in the lounges. Dinner at BoG at 6:40pm on 8/29, lunch at Sanaa at 1:30pm on 8/30, and lunch at HBD at 1:40pm on 8/31.
