Okay, I am going bonkers here. Please Disney let us know soon what the offer and resorts will be. I'm planning a 4th Generation Disney Vacation for 6 and really need to nail down dates and the hotel. My mind has been no where else but booking lately. :( :scared::rolleyes1:scared:

Just a bit of a reminder the Disney visa offer and the GP offer have different allotment of rooms. They aren't the same, One year I couldn't get pop with FD regular GP offer so I called in with the DV and got it that way. Needless to say that pop became available to the GP a week or so later.

POR is going to be hard to come by it is the cheapest option for a family of 5 to begin with.

That's us.....our oldest has since flew the coop but even traveling with 4 kids is difficult when only 2 Values hold 6......and one of them (AOA) is pretty much at a Mod price range.

yup crazy expensive and when the kids are all little which they arent anymore then u have to hav dad in one room and mom in another lol dont miss those days too much

What do you mean? He refused to wait? So there was no promo offered and no pin and he complained until he got his way? No offense but that sounds like a customer service nightmare:confused3

The free dining was expected to come out say (for arguments sake) in 4 weeks. I booked the vacation.....my husband said we've been to disney every year since 2006 staying deluxe and had free dining, called and said he would go to the other park if he didn't get free dining, long story short.....we were given free dining before any promo came out for Oct last year. So when someone says a cm can't override, I call none sense, they can, they have, they will.

Could you help explain to me how CBR would be cheaper than Pop for a family of 4? Maybe you meant CBR would be cheaper than POR? Either I'm misunderstanding what you said, or I'm not doing the math correctly. Thanks!!

Nope for our family of 4 (ages 15 & 9) and 2 adults.....CBR was $6 cheaper for us than if we stayed at Pop and upgraded dining plan.

Naturally, if I kept the QSDP, Pop is cheaper, but that's not comparing apples to apples.

Did you think this was okay for your husband to do? Demand special treatment? I would have been mortified.

Not true. Last year my husband refused to wait for free dining promo and his call was escalated to a supervisor who applied a pin code (we didn't have one) to our reservation. Overrides happen every single day, it can, it has and it will continue to be done.

It is very obvious that I got some magic this morning so everyone else out there lets not loose hope.

That said, the info of POR excluded may have just been for my case :confused3 When the offer is released it may very well be included. :thumbsup2

I'm wondering the same thing. We're already booked at POR (we're going with or w/o free dining so I booked early to be able to make ADRs at 180+10) but will switch to CBR or CSR to get FD if we have to. I'm sure there are many others who will do the same. If Disney sees they have a lot of people switching to other resorts, and therefore POR/FQ are no longer booked, will they open those resorts up for FD at a later date? Has that ever happened, that more resorts are added to a promo later?

That is what I was thinking too!! We are at POR right now, but I may have to switch tomorrow if what they say is true...

I am actually thinking Deluxe now WL or AKL???:confused3

Wow we are a family of 4 the only difference is mine are 9 and 6. Even if we upgraded the dining plan a mod still is almost 400.00 more. We kept the QSDP as well. S0 the price difference is 946.00 plus tips. We can eat a TS meal almost every day with that savings. We are only doing 3 TS meals. Granted we are the for 13 days.

This is what I was thinking. If everyone who has spent mucho dinero at Disney demanded special treatment or threatened to go to the other park, we'd all be calling! I work at a bank and a lot of people love to say "I have x amount of money here, I'll close my account" when they don't get their way.
Remember, you catch more flies with honey!

Do you know, did they say POR was excluded for promo or just not available your dates?

I hadn't even considered the possibility of older children! Ours are young and only cost $3ish/day to upgrade. I should still run the numbers again, because if it's only a slight increase, I'd much rather stay at CBR than any value! Thanks!!

I think it comes down to: we don't hop, basic tix, 8 days and go off peak (end of October since my kids bdays are 1 week apart). This year I will have 2 disney adults, so a mod is defin. cheaper than upgrading.

It's only two or three dollars to upgrade a child's dining plan, vs nearly $20 to upgrade an adult or junior. That must be the difference. There could also be a booking category difference...standard at CBR vs preferred at Pop, for example.

Same!! I think my 2nd choice is POR.. But I'm going to see what WL or AKL or maybe BC would be. :)

Those are on my list of backups :) Love both! WL is close to MK and convenient for dining since we eat at chef mickeys and ohana every trip. on the other hand, AKL is beautiful, but far awar from everything. I'd take either, but AKL is my fave!

I've seen the rumor as well, but not one single confirmed report of work being started. I have seen quite a few reports that work has definitely not started yet though, so who knows. :upsidedow

I'm switching to 2 rooms at POP now, he said riverside was not part of the promotion

Just saw this now. I'm sad for the families of 5 this year if this is the case. Here's hoping that limitation is only part of the Visa release and that POR will be part of the general public release.

Well then, now that I'm all caught up. :surfweb:

Stinks it didn't release this morning :badpc:, on a positive note I was on time for once to work. :rotfl2:

While I would need to cancel a few ADR's if I don't get it eventually, I'm not basing my trip off of it. We've went with it or without it and will continue to do so.

I will say this, in the past, I've always casually waltzed to my mailbox, pulled out the "FREE DINING OFFER" ad, and decided to book when I felt like it. I have NEVER, EVER stalked and called the moment they open like I am this time. I think finding this board is making my hair fall out, lol! :lmao:

Thank you to everyone that gave their updates on their calls. I believe they are cooking something up :stir: and we will be getting something soon! pixiedust:
