May 2, 2014 - A WONDERous trip through the Locks WBPC

If you wish to share the number of people in your cabin, please do so. You can do it here, or PM me!

In my cabin, there are 2.

We have two. I've already packed ours, we have two different items in a bag with an explanation. I hope that is enough?

As in the general FE, the cabin gifts are up to the individual.

In the past, we gave candy from the Jersey Shore, salt water taffy, and we gave 12 pieces per cabin. We have received assorted gifts like 2 Astro Pops, a small bag of Hard candy from Great Britain, from TX we received 6 pieces of Chick o Sticks, from PA a bag with assorted snack candies from Hershey. It turns out that Salt Lake City also makes salt water taffy, and we got a small bag of assorted taffy from there.

Those are examples, I hope they help. This year we have found a candy associated with Ohio, and we are giving 4 packs per cabin. We have also printed out the story of the candy to include in the bag.

We are from the Chicago area and have prepared packets of sweets from the companies based in the Chicago area.

My daughter and I have food allergies. What is the best way to let them know of our allergies? I asked our Travel Agent, and she said she'd get back to us. . . . Still waiting.
Does anyone else have experience with this?

This here is DCL's official FAQ about dietary restrictions:

https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/...uise-plans/faqs/onboard-dining/special-diets/

From what I have read here on the boards you should make sure that it is noted on your reservation and then once on board you talk to your head server about it.

You'll be amazed at the lengths they'll go to to make sure that your allergies are accommodated. I have a severe asparagus allergy, they wouldn't let me have a Mickey Bar till I read the ingredients on an unopened bar.

Hi All:cool1:
I remember someone (and I am sorry I could not find the post from earlier :confused3 ) who posted about the wine diaper. i am just posting again for anyone who did not see the post. I received an email from Amazon about the Wine Diaper for 14.99 and they come in a group of 3 :scared1:. They hold up to 750 ml of liquid or jelly, Honey, Agave, glass, etc... protecting it for the flight home :woohoo:. No free shipping :headache:, unless an order of 35.00 or greater :dance3:. I am going to place an order for mine now, as soon as I get off of the internet:surfweb:. Jeff you still the Man :worship:. Have a great day everyone.:firefight

Excellent! I emailed the main guest services for Disney Cruise Line. I'm thinking that my cousin may not have been the most helpful TA. I am so thankful for all of the experienced Disney cruisers who have answered so many questions. :)

Ok, I've ordered the candy for the exchange, three different types all with a tie to TX. One is gum, the other two candies. I figured I would bring extra for the youth counselors, as I know they will appreciate it.

We too will have an explanation to go along with the choices, might as well make it educational!

Getting closer!

*Please PM your cabin number when you are assigned. I will PM the list ASAP!

I will be at the 3PM Meet on embarkation day, and hope you will all be there, too!

Thought you candy exchange folks might like to watch your Nebraska candy being made in the tiny town of Greenwood! Here's a local news story to get you prepped for your Baker's Meltaways... http://www.1011now.com/video?videoid=2776090&device=phone

Anybody else have a candy video or backstory to share?

Sounds great!:thumbsup2. I printed out the history of our popular candy.

I feel for the guests who do not know their cabin number. DSis is one of them.

I ordered two sets. They look pretty good! Lots of vodka and rum to pack!

2 weeks until we board the Disney Wonder! :cheer2::cool1::dance3::banana:

Just felt the need to post a dancing banana and some other smilies... :goodvibes

Hi everyone! A lot of firsts for us. This will be our first Disney Cruise, first time through the Panama Canal and my first post on DisBoards. My wife and I will be coming with my five daughters (16, 14, 12, 11, 9) and my in-laws. We're beyond ecstatic that there's only two weeks to go. Wondering how many kids will be on cruise since school is in session.

Welcome aboard! There will be quite a few kids on board, but mostly younger and home schooled. Your kids will have a good time though as long as they are Disney fans. At 3:00 the first day in the Promenade lounge on deck 3 mid ships we are having a Meet and Greet. Join us if you can.

Just wanted to check in. Been going thru a lot almost to the pint where I thought we had to cancel due to my dad health but I am confident that after the dentist pulls all his teeth and he gets dentures on Thursday some of his health will improve. Well enough where I won't feel bad about taking this vacation. Any way enough of my problems. Just wanted to give a tiny preview of a couple of pins I will be bringing for the afternoon pin trading. When and where again? I will have a couple of DCL Hawaii pins. Some DCL 2012 EBPC pins. A 50th anniversary Small World pin. It's very cool and a Disneyland resort pin trading night Anna pin. This is a automatic trade for a WDW pin trading night Elsa pin if anyone is at WDW and can get on this Tuesday 4/22.
