CHERYL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We put the heat on for the first time yesterday so your hot cups of cocoa are looking pretty good.
We turned ours on a few days ago too. I told Josh we needed to "turn it on and double check that everything was working properly - before it got to cold and we'd have to pay for an emergency appt" - well, it never got shut off. He has it set pretty low though - to take the chill out of the air. And our gas bill isn't that expensive (I don't think, considering our house was built in 1886) - it's our electric bill that's outrageous!
I love the new series and someone else in the house noticed the prominent placement of gingerbread cookies on your dresses. Have you been thinking about me and G?
Actually, I have... I've been missing the two of you, something fierce.
There it is, smack dab in the middle a big beautiful gingerbread cookie.
Yes, there it is... dd said that same thing to me when I did the last dress. I decided to have the coordinating fabric from the hot cocoa on the front - she said it was a "huge mistake" and I should have put the cute Gingerbread man on the front.
Whoa, so you went for bigger cookies this time. Great idea. Nothing says holidays like a plate of gingerbread cookies and an ice cold glass of ginger ale to wash it down. Traditons are made of this.
Totally... Even Santa requests it. Ever notice how the cookies and milk never get eaten???? Well, it's because Santa prefers Gingerbread and Ginger Ale...
Excuse me, but the cookie is on the butt? and it's just the legs?? Is that appropriate? Might need to rip this one apart and move the cookie to the front.
It might be inappropriate - but have I really ever been appropriate???
Hope it's okay to CASE your dress. I made a couple changes -- I did slender, delicate, feminine spaghetti straps on the top and just used one material for the skirt because I wanted to emphasize the gingerbread. Yes, those are gingerbread -- they only look like flattened ants because I made the picture small, out of respect for not hogging your PTR. (This is a fabric I had in my stash from the old days before I gave up sewing.)
Feel free to CASE the hair accessories. I wanted them to look like Mickey ears, but I may have to do some tweaking for the full effect.
You did an amazing job - although I agree, the Mickey ears may need to be tweeked
just a smidge. I really love the delicate lines of the swiss miss - I mean, seriously - you are such an inspiration!
PS Please, no bathroom humor about the little sign that says GAS. My husband was labeling the pipes in the basement. I told him I didn't need to know which pipes carried gas. If there was a problem with them I would not be in the basement trying to fix them, I would be a safe distance away!
What a wonderful DH you have... maybe mine should do that? After all, any time I've smelled gas - I go down to investigate. I even called the gas company once (I am paranoid, after our furnace in our old house almost blew), and that dude couldn't smell it or find it. I thought I was imagining things, so did he. So, I had our awesome furnace guy out here a few months later (maybe even the next year) and aked him if he smelled it. Sure enough, just faintly - so he went through ALL my gas lines and found the leaker - fixed it and didn't charge me a thing. That is an
AMAZING furnace guy! I haven't smelled any gas since.
D love your third dress too! So what is the next theme?
Well, I usually don't make a habit of announcing what I am making next.... but I still plan to make one more outfit in the WtP series - which I am planning to do tomorrow. Then DH came up with a couple of fun ideas - which wouldn't be part of a series, just an outfit here and there. However, in the middle, somewhere, I have a couple of holiday orders I need to fulfill - so I think I am going to sneak those in during the next couple of weeks. I want to have all my holiday orders finished by the 1st of Dec, so I am not panicking.
NINI I just love that dress. I heard SWISS MISS is all the rage this year in the bottle fashion.[/quote]
I must have missed that newsletter - I better check that I am still subscribed...
My sister in law's friend is one of the producers of Project Runway and I may have to bring up the idea of Project Runway:Soda Bottle Styles
Excellent idea!
No sewing for me today... I have to work.
Which is a bummer, because I spent a couple hours in my sewing room over the weekend to clean it up again... I still had fabric out from Megan's POFQ dress!
Maybe I'll post another planner page instead??? Or I could post an installment to my PTR??? Or I could post some of Tori's creations???? The options are endless, really.
