Disneyland Pet Peeves!

Getting rammed in the back of your legs & having your feet ran over (at the same time!) by an electric wheelchair that is being operated by someone with no knowledge of electric wheel chairs.
This was my first negative encounter with a stroller/wheelchair at DLR this past weekend...surprised it took me to long to experience this! :rotfl:

ARRRRRRRRGGHH i feel ur pain. i hate those too! they are cute.. in the package.. but not when the kid is spraying it in your face, adn the bubbles land in your wine ....yep.. not fun
Do you ever drink wine and watch the Pixar parade? Bubble attack! :rotfl:

OMG - speaking of people who operating ECVs with no knowledge -- we saw this old guy earlier this month speeding his newly rented ECV through the tunnel, towards main street ... he went over the curb and almost flipped, something happened and there was this awful grinding sound. He just sat there, revving it. Ummm, I think you just broke your ECV :rotfl:

I REALLY hate when people refer to Walt Disney World as 'Disneyland!' Seriously People! There is a REASON why the parks have different names!

On that same note I also hate people who haven't been to both parks, and automatically think Disney World is SO MUCH BETTER than Disneyland. Yes, disney world is much bigger and has more to do, but that can also just be more of a headache. Like the walking longer distances, and the fact that you need like a week to see and do everything.

Maybe I'm just being sour because I live in California and DL is my home park.

You know what really makes the teapot scream when your in the bathroom......When you go during Gay Days and so many guests find it appropiate to wear sexually descriptive shirts.

really?

skiingfast you are WAY too funny.....I'm sorry I have no peeve about DL yet,b/c I've never been! I hope, after our trip,I still have no peeve to report, but now I am getting scared I will... that would really burn my toast....

You know what really strips my screws........When camera batteries die, and memory cards fill up in the middle of a day in the parks.

You know what really loads my shotgun with rock salt and sparks my gun cotton? Entire villages of relatives who walk hand-in-hand and side-by-side at a pace slower than time eroding mountains.

**cant..get..around..them**

1. Rude people in general who spout off to people, man! Just let it go!! (some of us are new to things and don't know how to do everything the right way yet)
2. People who spit on the ground (do we really want to walk on your spit?
Then walk into our room where our kids play on the ground?)
3. People who don't watch their kids in the pool! A girl was pushing my 5 year olds head under water (in the wading pool) and she doesn't know how to hold her breath.
4. Making out in public (GROSS, GET A ROOM FOR THAT!!!)
5. People who take 30 minutes in line to place their food order when there is a huge line behind them. ( I mean they could of had it all figured out before they got there because of the long line!)

Anyway that is just I few, I TRY to just have fun and focus on the positive:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Smokers who smoke out of the designated areas.
Please, people, all of us do not want to breathe in secondhand smoke and it is a childs park, have some courtesy and smoke in the proper areas.

Another big pet peeve of mine (I think I read somewhere earlier in this thread) -someone was "ticked" off that a person was using a wheelchair or ECV and they saw them actually walk and get back into the wheelchair/ECV. *HORRORS* YOU, whoever posted this and anyone else thinking it should just rethink and KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF. A lot of people can actually walk, yes, but they do not have the stamina to walk the park or stand in lines. Get over yourself because there are a lot of invisible disabilites (such as heart trouble, anemia, and many others) and you should not be so quick to judge. I wish I had the time and patience to look back in the thread and find who posted this originally!

Here are mine:
Smokers who smoke outside the smoking area (Can we just make the parks completely smoke free? The San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, as well as Sea World have done this and it works for them, yes some people try to break the rules, but they are quick to catch it).

Flash Photography on rides or during shows, even when they specifically ask you not to. (If they say it is allowed, then I am ok with it)

When an ECV/Wheelchair is parked off to the side of the road and people run into them and cuss them out. Also when people do not move out of the way of those in wheelchairs/ECVs, I guarantee that it is easier for the person walking to move out of he way (especially when the ECV/Wheelchair is going down hill)

Flash Photography on rides or during shows, even when they specifically ask you not to. (If they say it is allowed, then I am ok with it)

I agreem if people had more common sense they would not need to announce no pictures so often at the beginning of attractions. That really puts a kink in my garden hose.

You know what....one of my peeves is when people refer to it as a "kid's park"....it's NOT just for kids, it's for everyone and anyone who loves it. That's all. :)

You know, you are SO RIGHT. It is a park for everyone.

Therefore, I hope you weren't referencing the smoking issue, as EVERYONE should not have to breathe in smoke if they do not so choose (when there is a guest who insists on smoking in a non-smoking area)

I feel that it is unfair to children who cannot speak for themselves when it comes to such inconsiderate people and someone has to speak up for them.

If you really did not mean to reference the smoking issue by just saying that it is not just a kids park, then I have to say, your right, it is wonderful that Walt created this park so that we can all be a kid at heart and enjoy the magic.

Anyway, THAT'S ALL.

Chiming in with a common theme - rude people are my pet peeve! Especially entitled, rude people. Once when I was very young I was in the Matterhorn line with my parents and little sister who was about 7 years old at the time. After 40 minutes of waiting she didn't feel well and my mom took her to the restroom. They came back and (HORRORS) rejoined my family in line. The man behind us started SCREAMING at my little sister for "cutting" in line!!! :scared1: I was so shocked.

A CM noticed and came over and he started yelling at her too! Finally my dad said, how about if we let you get in front of us? Rude Screamer said that was fine, so he "cut" us in line and finally shut up about it. He really set a great example for his two sons.

My pet peeve peed on my carpet :(

I hate smokers without common courtesy. I don't care if people want to smoke, but please don't make everyone around you suffer because of your choice. They made an area for you..I know it's a little inconvenient but really, it's sorta inconvenient to have to walk over to a bathroom to 'go' too..yet everyone does it ;) (Well..except those people who let their kids pee in line..I've heard of this!)

A lot of my pet peeves have been mentioned..I'll be brief..
People running over my feet with strollers because they're not paying attention.

People stopping abruptly in front of MY stroller OR trying to cut me off. Don't glare at me if it's your fault.

People who think THEIR vacation is much more important than MINE.

I wasn't even responding to your post in particularl, I can't stand cigarette smoke either and I call people on it all the time. It's kind of funny, your post was only one that I saw yesterday that mentioned it being a "child's park" or "kids park", I saw it like 5 times so I actually came back to this thread after seeing it over and over to post that. LOL So no, I wasn't referring to smoking at all, I was simply saying that DL is not simply a "kids/child's park" that it was meant for everyone and I for one (at the age of 40) love it more now than I did previously. :)

Okay, good, I am glad to see it seems you understood my post. I was only referring to it as a childs park in the sense that children cannot speak for themselves and there are a zillion children around people, so everyone please dont smoke in non approved areas.

I totally agree, it is meant for everyone and I love it just as much as you! I think we will both be 90 years old waiting to see Fantasmic. LOL:thumbsup2

Oh I will definitely be 90 and wanting to go to my happy place! LOL

I speak up loud enough for myself and my kids when people are smoking where they aren't supposed to. In fact when there used to be a smoking area on the walk to the train in TL I would tell the girls to hold their breath and I wasn't super quite about it. I wasn't loud or obnoxious about it because the smokers were in the "right" spot, but I still said it. :)

My biggest pet peeve is that I am not in the land right now! OK that and flash photography on the dark rides. People spitting on the ground. And people that need to get a room! Etc...

You know what really scuffs my dress shoes.....When the FP return line is longer than the standby line.
