The Trip Is On!!! Trip report starts on pg. 39

Great report so far Michelle! I am contemplating staying on-site for my next trip. I'm usually so tight on my budget but I want my Birthday trip to be special!

I am scared at the timing of my birthday though. If the trip happens I am looking at June 12-16 so pretty busy! Unfortunately I can't change the date of my birth lol!

Great window photos Michele, love all the little details. :thumbsup2

I like the UVA bar too. Their garlic fries are insane. :cloud9: You stink after but they are worth every greasy garlicky bite.

Oh I wish we had tried them, next time then. lol

We went June 13-19 last year and although it was busy the main reason it was so busy was because of the fact that they opened WoC that week. Start looking at prices you might be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not sure what the blocked out dates for AP's for those dates, but we found going in the summer was way better than spring break. We didn't really have any issues during our trip. It was busy.....but it's always busy at DL. You might be pleasantly surprised!!

The AP Hotel rate calendar isn't available yet for June. nor are any specials so the on-sites are pretty expensive right now. I'm hoping the summer specials will be posted in March so I can make plans...

SoCal select is blocked out every day but the 13th&14th. SoCal adds the 12th as not being blocked out. The 15th and 16th are blocked out by all but Deluxe (and of course Premium). I have a Deluxe so that is why I am planning on arriving Saturday to be able to do the parks early on Sunday.

Star Tours & Little Mermaid open 9 days before I arrive so I imagine that will add crowds...

The main reason I want to stay on-site not just to be in the magic but is to take advantage of 3 Magic Mornings! However it will all depend on the cost!

Oh my those two rides opening are going to make for a much more crowded parks. Both parks. But, it will add a level of excitement. And as m kids learned if you go in the single rider line it makes the lines much quicker.

Good point! We will be there the first and 2nd day it opens! I'm kind of freaking out about the possible crowds, because we've been lucky the last couple of times we were there...oh well, I guess we'll just have to deal with it, and you're right, we could do single rider!

I think that anytime is a good time for a trip!!

:wizard: Hope you feel bettter very soon :flower3:

Thanks. It hit me like a ton of bricks.

Tuesday February 22 dawned dark and early for me. For some reason I woke up at 4:30am. I guess I was still excited to be at my happy place. So, I decided I would take that time to do my emails and my disboarding. So, I did. That kept me busy until near 6. Not bad, I killed some time. I decided to climb back in bed and read to see if I could doze off. Just as I started to doze into a comfortable sleep Dina was up and getting ready. That's okay because by then I was hungry and ready for breakfast.

After we were ready we had to decide where we were going to eat breakfast. I brought up the fact that I knew White Water Snacks had breakfast and we were going into DCA that morning so going to breakfast at WWS seemed practical. Boy was I glad that we did.

The All American Breakfast at Whit Water Snacks is wonderful!! When you take into consideration that this is fast food it is incredible. I love how they cook their potatoes. Yummy. I cannot say enough good about this breakfast.

After breakfast we slowly meandered into DCA and headed straight to Soarin' this is the only ride I care about in DCA. We waited in a some what medium to long line. It was great. The next thing on my list of things to do was to walk over and get the Duffy's I was sent to get. Because I knew I was picking up a couple of Duffy's I left mine in the room so at least one of us would get good rest in the room. We headed over to Engine Ear Toys, or whatever the name is. And I bought two Duffy's and a Buzz Lightyear outfit for my Duffy. Yes, he was no longer going to be naked, but Peanut's which was now my picture taking buddy was going to be naked.

We wandered from shop to shop and I found my Mickey Mouse rain poncho that I HAD to have. I also found a pin that was Ariel and Ursala. I thought it was wonderful. Now here is one of my favorite perks to staying at a resort hotel, I sent one of the Duffy's and my other purchases to the hotel bell desk. And Dina sent the Duffy she bought with his Buzz outfit back to the park. Yes, she fell in love with him too. And soon she was taking the pictures with her camera too. We were quite a sight I am sure.

Soon we were headed towards Animation!! I love Animation, it is one of my favorite locations in the park.

This is Duffy watching the Toy Story display.

Even Duffy is a naughty boy sometimes. He knows he shouldn't climb on the railings!!

Then it was time to go see who we were. Duffy went first, he was Mushu. I thought it was rather fitting. I was the Evil Queen.;) And Dina was Mulan.

Then we went down to Ursala's Grotto and we did the scene from Bambi. It was hilarious and I really wish I had a video camera at the time. From there we decided to go to see the Muppet's 3D. I love the Muppet's.

Duffy really enjoyed the Muppet's too. Dina had never seen it and we had a real good time watching it.

Well it looks like Duffy was having a really great time! And that breakfast looks so good right now. It's making me even hungrier than I already am.

The pics are really cute!

Thanks Andrea. He was having fun for sure!!

I love the Animation Building....I still have areas that's I've missed there, so hoping to take care of that this trip!!!

I'll have to remember WWS for breakfast......we have 2 mornings that we don't have breakfast plans......so that might work out nicely!!

Oh Laurie, I recommend it highly. Their potatoes are to die for.

After Muppet's we headed straight to Monster's Inc another of my favorites. I do not understand why this ride is not anymore popular than it is. The three of us rode it and when we got to Roz she said. "where's your paperwork girls?", I told her we didn't do it. Roz said, "wrong answer," I said I'm sorry. We were laughing like crazy at this point. Then Roz said, "next time bring me a churro!" We were still laughing when we got off of Monster's Inc.

I decided it was time for Duffy's turn to carry the backpack.

Duffy liked playing in the Monster's Inc car.

We decided that it was time to walk toward White Water Snacks because I was craving their nachos. On our way we found our first character for Duffy to visit it with and boy was he excited. This was a character he knows really well, after all she made him.

We got to White Water Snacks and I was going to have those nachos no matter what. And have them I did.
2011-02-22135718.jpg

Oh my gosh they are just as good as they look. And I love their guacamole. They don't mash theirs to pudding there are still chunks in it. Yummy, and their chips are amazing. I had the Tortilla Joe's nachos on Monday night and they were not nearly as good as White Water Snacks, but they were good. After eating I had a hilarious experience with the CM at the gate going back into DCA.

I bought myself a clip on pass holder so that I could carry my AP and my room key while locking my purse in the safe in the room. It cut down on the clutter for me too. Best laid plans because I had a back pack by then.:rolleyes1 Anyhoo, when I got up to him to get out my AP he was going to help me and then he realized that I hang it on my jacket and it kind of sat on my chest area. You know what I mean?:rotfl: Awkward!! I don't know which of us blushed more. But, he gave me great advise. If you put your AP backwards in it you don't ever have to take it out of the case. They can scan it with their gun like that and in the stores and restaurants all of the CM's notice it and are able to get your discount to you if you forget it. Great thing to have. Next we headed off towards the shop next to GRR.

What a wonderful WBG wife I am. I am trained to take pictures of the bicycles where ever I go.:rotfl: While I was here I bought Duffy's second outfit. And the first one he wore. I had to have it because of the hat. No pictures yet though!

We wandered off from there. We have never gone on this path before and I am not sure why.

But first Duffy wanted to pose with this guy.

Oh yeah he did. I took those with my phone so I sent them on right away to him.

Nice update on your TR. The nachos from WWS looks go good to eat. The GRR pics look very good as well as the inside of the Rushin’ River Outfitters store. Can't wait to read more.

Thank you Bret!

I am with you on the Animation building. DD7 and I did that same stuff just a few days ago, so fun :) I was a bit bummed that they are "re-imagineering" the animation screens though.

I think Monsters inc is not as popular because of it's location. especially with all the Tron stuff, it is SO hidden away!

I also agree with the WWS nachos. TJ's are pretty good, but WWS are the BEST. We ate that everyday at the pool when we were blessed with a room there in June.

I've heard that the nacho's are really good......and I L:love:VE nachos....so will be stopping in to get some......hopefully!! lol

Monster's Inc is really a neat ride......I agree, it's location is why it gets missed & has smaller crowds. Tyler went in 08 & didn't even know the ride was there......lol So we made sure to take him last summer. (he noticed the ride when he was watching our slide show from that trip......lol)
