Sara & Ryan's Wishes PJ & TR ~ 8/17/10 WP/GF/Marina ~ 1/22 Thank you!

So many positive reviews...that is great to see! I can't wait to hear about everything and see more pics :goodvibes

Glad I did (aside from marrying DH :goodvibes):

1. Had a Disney Wedding. It really was magical and our guests loved it. We also had such a great time hanging out with family and friends in Disney before and after the wedding and I like that people will have good memories of spending time together in Florida in addition to our wedding day.

2. Got a Wedding Video. We were going to skip this until my coworkers talked me out of it and I'm so glad. The day goes by so fast and you really do miss a lot. I already keep saying: "I can't wait to see that on the video!"

3. Used outside vendors for floral and chair rental. This saved us a ton of money over what Disney would have charged us and we had no problems whatsoever.

4. Used the centerpieces are ceremony decor. We were initially going to do alternating high / low centerpieces at the reception and then just do swagging at the WP. After I found out that DH didn't like the swagging, we looked for other ways to dress up the space. Lee suggested alternating pillars for the centerpieces and I loved the look. I also felt like we got to really enjoy the centerpieces and got our money's worth since all ceremony floral was used at the reception.

5. Had Mickey and Minnie. Our guests went crazy when they showed up. It was a huge hit with everyone and totally worth it. We had them come for dancing and Mickey was quite the dancer, even having a dance-off with our ringbearer . It was even better than I had imagined.

6. Had a Dessert Party and piped in the music. This was another thing our guests really enjoyed and I'm glad we had the dessert party. Karen was totally right and the music really added to the experience.

7. Stayed in the Main building at the GF. I had thought about changing but I'm so glad I didn't. It was definitely worth it for us and I'll get into that a little more during the TR. Although I think I may have created a monster since DH says he only wants to stay Club level from now on.

8. Ate at my wedding! I made a point to try everything and it was all delicious! While I couldn't really eat that much, I did at least have a taste of everything. :)

Wish I didn't:

1. Wait so long to finish those DIY projects. It wasn't intentional but it added a lot of unnecessary stress in those last weeks before the wedding. I am glad that I did them though since our guests did really appreciate all the work that went into them.

2. Wait so long to pack, this was partly because of the DIY thing, but we were packing the day before and at that point I was just throwing things into the suitcase and hoping for the best. :rotfl2:

Wish I had:

1. Chosen a different menu for the DP. It was soooo hot that night, and since most of the offerings were creamy they were not really the best choices. Everything was delicious but the cheesecake lollipops were melting and no one really wanted to drink warm chocolate shots when it was 90 degrees outside . I would have kept the chocolate covered strawberries and tirimisu but would have added more things that guests could have taken with them like mickey crispies or cookies. I also would have added some cold drinks, the only cold beverage was water, it would have been nice to have iced coffee or something too.

2. Remembered to bring the boxes to the DP. Yup, forgot all about them and all of those delicious strawberries went to waste, but really the strawberries were the only thing people could have taken.

3. Chosen a different flavor for our top layer. I had picked marble with strawberries and bavarian creme thinking it would be cut and served, but they kept it for us. I did make myself have a piece a few days after the wedding but it wasn't nearly as good as the other flavors, so I really wish I would have just had the two flavors and could have eaten more cake!

4. Stayed in Disney for longer. We loved Hawaii but with all the wedding events we really didn't get to do everything we wanted at Disney and it will probably be a while before we go back.

So happy everything went beautifully!

Thanks so much for the reviews and wish I did/wish I didn'ts

I am STILL debating about video :confused3 maybe when the first BEO rolls in and I look like this: :scared1: or not (yeah, like that would ever happen :rotfl: ) I will think about it again.

Can't wait for the TR!!!

Thanks! Glad to help. Lol, well I definitely looked like this :scared1: when I got my BEO's, but I definitely am glad I got the video after all. You can find some outside videographers that are pretty reasonable and can do however much time you think you'll need. ;)

Love all your reviews so far, they are so helpful!

Thanks! I know I definitely found it helpful when other brides did it. Pretty soon it'll be your big day!

I so agree about the time in Disney. Even being there 3 weeks  it was really only about 2 weeks of park time after all of the wedding stuff and there was still stuff we were looking at each other on the plane and saying I wish we'd done... It's such a long trip for so many of us that really taking the time to enjoy your honeymoon is important, that is the only time you can really say this is our honeymoon so take your time.

Hehehe yes, I am bracing myself, I told DH we might need some valium when we open those e-mails, but there are plenty of things in there we can cut out.
He is ever the optimist and says he isn't expecting it to be too insane... ah I love that man.

I am glad that you had a wonderful experience with Disney. It sounds like your wedding day was perfect.

yay so glad you had such an amazing day!! :woohoo: Can't wait to see more pics :goodvibes

Lol, I guess you never really can do it all. I actually get really jealous of people from overseas because they go to Disney for such long periods of time ;). Hawaii was great too, and it was easier to relax there since there were not a million things to do like at Disney. We really didn't plan too much and just did what we felt like each day too. :goodvibes

There were some that I opened and just laughed, the floral one comes to mind... don't worry about the cuts, everything will still be amazing and I can tell you that I really didn't miss any of the things that we had to cut.

I was going to get a wedding video either but i'm gald I did as well.

I definitely never really thought a video was that important, but I think I would have regretted not getting it. I really like that you can really relive the day and see and hear everything again. :goodvibes

A belated congrats and a big thank you for posting your reviews and glad you dids. Great info!! Thanks!!
