I used to quite like the ATeam on TV in the 80s. Might go see this on Orange Wednesday. :thumbsup2
It looks fab, the guy who place Face is so hot he is smokin.
Very cool Sarah, but as others have said, I needed those subtitles. BTW, I love that song, the original that is.

Lynne, where do you get your energy from, your tired and haven't slept and your going for a run....Good for you! I must admit, I do feel better and more energetic on my training days though. ;)

:surfweb:

It strue, but it was either that or kill the next door neighbour kid If I didnt get out and away from the noise.

Stay groovey as Pike would sya.:thumbsup2

Happy Birthday and congrats on the cool present!

Hi everyone! I sent an email to DCL special events about the Champagne Girls party. Right now, the date and venue are undecided. I asked for a sea day, because I know most of us will be going ashore on port days. Looks like the event schedule is pretty full. Below is Dorothy's response, my answer, and Dorothy's second response. Please read them and send me your creative ideas! Connie

Hello Connie,
I remember the pink ladies. Deb sent me a picture with everyone decked out in pink and pink boas.
I will be glad to look for a venue that you can have a wine tasting. It may be an issue though on a sea day. They have so much going on on the ship that the venues are impossible to come by on sea days. How about at 4pm one afternoon other than a sea day? It will be a couple of weeks before I can get back to you. I have to wait for the ship to make its schedule for that sailing.

For wine brought onboard there will be a $15 corking fee to open the bottle.

I can make the arrangements for the photographer if you would like. The $85 fee will need to be prepaid and all photos would be paid for on the ship.

I will contact you in a couple of weeks.
Take care, CTC Dorothy Ednie

from Me:Thank you for responding so quickly. We really need to do the Champagne Girls party on a sea day. If Diversions or Sessions is not available, what about the Promenade lounge?
Please see what you can find for me. I'll go with whatever you can do.
Sincerely, Connie Quick

from: Dorothy EdnieI will ask for what you want…I just wanted you to be aware that it may be a challenge. I’ll let you know. Dorothy Ednie

What's the rules about drinking on the secret deck on deck 7. You could have quiet a nice party there, weather permitting.

Yes, I thought about that, too. I will discuss that with her if she doesn't come up with anything else. If I had the big disabled room on deck 6 or 7, I would have it in my room, and there'd be no corking fees, but so far, we have an inside room.

Something will turn up!

Oh, yes. Moogie (our DDog) is a Golden too. And our elder DDog Frieda died two years ago. A Golden also.

I LOVE Goldens!

I love your pic of you and the boat where did you get this?

I got my haircut this afternoon, so you know what that means? ONLY ONE MORE APPOINTMENT BEFORE THE CRUISE!!! I have my fresh cut and color scheduled the day before I leave! :yay:

She truly is inspirational!! You did a great job, too! I know you were trying to avoid the spotlight, but you spoke of her so well!!n You and your team should be very proud of all you do!

I agree with Eric as to which ones attract DISers.

Erik, Jason, Melodie, Dave, Amy, Steffi, Sandi, Trisha, and Ben (I think I forgot someone, too) were on my last DCL cruise in September 2008, which was also my first with DCL. That was an AMAZING group of people, and we were high in the numbers! I took a look at our stats, and here are some of the key ones. As you see, we had nearly 500 people from DISboards!!!!! I was crazy-nuts keeping track of everyone and didn't just rely on who signed up on a website, so the numbers are extremely accurate.

PS: You can also see what an amazing job Jason and Erik did on our lanyards in the linked post above.

Me I was on that Cruise. With my hubby Glenn. I was the one in the Blue Scooter decorated with Belle stickers :) Yes Eric and Jason did the landyards and they were awesome. Though I missed the Dis Picture :(

But that cruise was not so busy as this cruise rofl:lmao: Cause it was much shorter :)

Awesome. Thank you for doing this. If they have nothing available we could always meet at the Cove Cafe area.

Just my two cents!

:thanks::thanks: to everyone on the Wristband Team!

Hey guys! I have been lurking for a while. I am amazed at your group! I am hoping to go on the 2012 WBTA and I had some questions for you guys. I have been trying to get a fairly accurate estimate of how this much is going to cost and I see that it is MUCH cheaper to book round trip tickets than one way (I have NO IDEA why!). Have you guys booked that? And if so, how are you going to handle the fact that you are not going back....meaning what are you going to tell the airlines?

I just hope that our group (if I go) will be as organized and as lively as you guys are! I soooo wish I could go with you this time! I need the 2 years to get my nerve up to fly to Europe!

TIA!!
Jen

Booked my tickets ro Rochester for labor day weekend. Now I have to rethink my packing with this added trip.

Why are you flying to Rochester for labor day? We will miss you as we are flying down to Orlando the Thursday night before Labor Day to stay at WDW for 4 days before heading to Barcelona to start our Med cruise and then the WBTA.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I'm still up playing with my iPad! I love it so far! Gus has had an iPhone since they came out and I'm not a fan. I like my phone to be a phone! Not to mention, I personally have a hard time watching a movie or reading a book on something that small so the iPad is perfect for me! It's not something I ever would have bought for myself which makes it an even better gift!

Night all!!!

I don't have an iPhone or an iPad. Oddly...for computer stuff I'm typically an apple guy----Longtime Macbook user and had an iMac (a pretty orange one to go with all my tigger stuff :tigger:) before that.....but alas...I'm a Verizon customer and I absolutely LOVE being with Verizon (I almost never am without signal....I was recently at a retreat weekend at a lodge/resort on a mountain near San Francisco with a bunch of my westcoast friends and colleagues who ALL had their fancy iphones and I was the ONLY person with any signal so I was the only person who could make or receive phone calls and texts :lmao:------plus all my cheerleaders and their families are verizon customers so the free in-network calling feature is a big bonus), so an iPhone is out of the question for me. I did just recently get the new droid/htc incredible smart phone though...which is, for all intents and purposes, verizon's version of the iphone....and I love it. I actually just downloaded the Kindle app for it and bought several books to read onboard, as well...so you will see me with my phone onboard the ship a lot....but I'll be using it to read books & maybe use the internet occasionally. (I have 5 books in it...so I'd rather pack the phone and charger than the 5 hard cover books :thumbsup2)

We would like to book a Hawaiian cruise for 2012, I'm assuming there will be a repositioning cruise to Hawaii which would suit us perfectly. I am assuming the details won't be out by the time we cruise, So how do I go about booking onboard? Do I book just any cruise and then change the dates, ie dummy dates? :confused3

Yes, that's exactly right.....by booking "dummy dates" you just pick an itinerary you MIGHT want (but aren't 100% committed to) or you just pick any random itinerary (perhaps based on what has the cheapest booking deposit at that moment if there's a deal) for a ways out in the future. Then once you know more solidly what your plans are, you just cancel switch the reservation----effectively cancelling the one you made and booking the one you want. The benefit is that you typically get to keep your OBC and can often times carry over the onboard booking discount.

For example, when Jason and I were on the Double Dip cruise in the fall of 2008 (where we met many of our fabulous fellow cruisers on this thread----like BuckeyeGal, MagicMe, Disneygirl02, etc.), we all knew through the rumor mill that the Magic was going back to the Med in 2010 even though the dates and itineraries hadn't been announced...and we knew that meant TransAtlantic cruises, too....so Jason and I just booked two back to back cruises for December 2009 that we never had any intention of taking (they were literally like the last available dates at that point I think) and then once they announced the Med dates and the TA trips, we had our travel agent call the morning bookings opened and move our reservations from those Dec. trips to our current B2B trips. It worked out well for us-----the only issue was/is that if the cruise you are switching TO has a higher deposit (the Med and TA cruises had higher deposits than the Caribbean cruises we'd originally booked) then you have to pay the difference....but we were able to keep all our other onboard credits, etc.

Plus....we love having dummy dates not only for the $$$ reason but because that way when you get off the ship, you're doing so with the assurance that another DCL trip is in your future....which is kind of a small light at the end of the tunnel!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Because disembarkation is always a depressing day (I usually quite literally cry the last night of the trip and am usually in the saddest, foulest, *****iest mood the morning we have to get off the ship----because it's always so early :headache: and we cuz we're leaving-----that I need that little pick-me-up of "well, at least we're coming back" to make it through the long drive back to the airport, etc. :lmao::lmao:

Congrats on considering a TA crossing....they're SOOOOO amazing! This is my and Jason's second one.....and don't be surprised if you see us on one in 2012 if they have them (although if they do some sort of Pacific crossing type cruise like to Hawaii or From Hawaii to someplace else we might be inclined toward that one since it woudl be different).

Figuring out one way airfare to/from Europe was one of the reasons that we decided to book our airfare through DCL because they took care of that for us.....I know lots of folks felt like DCL was more expensive, but our DCL flights include a hotel night before the cruise and a certain amount of assurance that we won't miss the boat :lmao:......and when we compared the prices that we got through DCL to what we were looking at online to book our own....we don't feel like we paid that much more (and actually LESS in some cases)....so I'd encourage you to at least price out the DCL air option and see what they can offer you.

IT ARRRRIVED!

Uh oh, note to self - keep away from Erik - after 25 days on the Magic, your mood should be REAL fun. :rotfl2:

You're not kidding...Jason is already bracing himself. He's probably going to hit the internet for some black market anti-depressants to drop in my morning orange juice the last day or two of the cruise and the first week we get back! :lmao:
