Does anyone know how many families are doing the FE?

Here's the latest fish extender news:

There are currently 12 families signed up. This includes Erica's family.

:cheer2:Welcome to our group!:cheer2:

I hope everyone that has signed up is still booked on this cruise. I guess I can check on all of these after final payment is due. According to the list, there are 21 adults and 16 kids so far.

If anyone else would like to join, just PM me.

Can we join in? DH and I booked over the weekend, want to give a very BIG thank you to whoever canceled their Category 6 on Saturday! We snagged it!! Don't know our room # yet, just Cat 6 GTY for now.

It's the three of us this cruise, myself (Erica), DH (Stephen), and DD (Audrey) who will be 2.5 at the time of sailing. We live in Oklahoma. This is DH and my second Disney cruise. Our first was a 4-night on the Wonder in January 2002. We've also been on the Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas and Independence of the Seas from RCCL. Looking forward to a little bit of that Disney magic!

We're desperately trying to potty train DD. It's slow, but hopefully she'll be there by October so she can enjoy some of the kids club. Otherwise I'll spend time with her there doing the activities that sound like fun.

I'm interested in the Fish Extender swap, especially since it sounds like it isn't going to be too big! I was afraid it would be overwhelming, but at this rate I can handle it!

Welcome! :welcome:

I'm Kathy traveling with my brother Frank. We have a GTY cabin as well and can't wait for a real cabin assignment.

Good luck with the potty training! Keep us posted!

Congratulations on the coming granddaughter! :lovestruc
Just out of cultural curiosity: You mention what her name will be. Is it customary in the States for parents-to-be to tell the name of their child in advance? Here in Germany, parents usually keep that as a secret to themselves until the baby is born and then they announce it - even close family like the future grandparents are not told the name in advance, no matter how much they would like to know it. (Must be hard for the grandparents especially - but if I were pregnant we'd probably do it the same way :)).

Depends.I dont there is a tradition/custom 1 way or the other. There are some families that like to be surprised when a baby is born and wont go for a ultrasound to determine if its a boy or a girl. They may pick a few names and settle on 1 after the baby is born. Some will tell a name some wont.
Then there is the other side of the spectrum where the parents go every few weeks and get a 4d done, and will tell everyone they meet the name.Ive seen both.

Hi Erica, welcome! :flower3:

I am Annika travelling with my DH, we are German, and this will be our first cruise ever, followed by our second WDW visit ever.
(Just in case you are interested in reading dining reports, I wrote one on our first visit last year: The Deluxe Dining that defeated us ... A German perspective)

Anyway, congratulations on snagging the cat. 6! And (if I may safely assume that is your daughter in the pic below your post?) congratulations on her too, she is so cute!

The sun is out, after a bad rain very early this am!! I see the pool calling my name this afternoon!!! Stay cool!!

Just curious on people opinion on this...

How important do you think it is to have a window in your room on a 7 day cruise?

It's not. We spend very little time in our room so it's not important to us. This will be our third time with a veranda, once on deck 1 with the little windows and three times on the inside. We are having one for Alaska, now there it might be important!!

Thanks everyone. That's a little bit of Disney magic right there! :wizard: We took her to WDW in October last year and had family portraits done in front of the Beach Club. The photographer got her to point at a flower and all of a sudden Tinkerbell showed up!:thumbsup2

She's a lot of fun, a real Mickey Mouse fan! Although I think Pluto holds her heart, she takes him to daycare every day to nap with him.

I don't think it's all that important. We enjoy having one, especially with a little one who still naps. One or the other of us will be in the cabin with her, so it's nice to have some outside light then or a balcony to sit on.
