We stayed there in July, and I thought it was great.
We prefer having the Dining Plan and other perks from staying on the property, so it may be a while before we stay there again.
One of the nicest things about it is the proximity to DTD. It's not a terribly far walk, which is nice if you have meals at Resorts on the property, or you like to resort hop.
The bus service is decent, though I still prefer the Disney buses, because the DTD hotels shares buses with both other hotels and parks. Also, they run every 30 minutes, so you have to be waiting at that time, or you miss your bus. This was another reason that I liked the proximity to DTD, because if we missed our bus, we walked down and picked up a bus from DTD to one of the Monorail resorts, since the Magic Kingdom bus from the Doubletree only takes you to the TTC anyways, it would be a similar length trip from DTD.
We got a rate of $89/night, which was much less than what we would have paid to stay on the property with 6 people.
Since it was a budget trip, we also took the City Bus to and from the airport. This went more smoothly than I thought it would, and it was much less expensive that renting a car or taking a taxi. The City Bus Stop is directly in front of the Doubletree as well.
