I just listened to today's Dis Unplugged Podcast, where the August 12 announcement rumor originated....no mention of it at all.

Ok, that's just not nice. Did they at least apologize for getting our hopes up?

On a positive note, I did finally get a CM to finally help me after 2 previous calls today, to upgrade my ressie from POP to CBR. Wanted CSR but it's full. I was told earlier that there was nothing for CBR even though I was looking at it on my computer screen...

Yes, my DH is definately a keeper! It helps that he has a sweet tooth too! the butterfinger blizzard is bliss!

DIS Podcast is reporting that there may be another discount package offered on August 7th similar to the 4/3 but with complications...any guesses anyone?

The original post was posted on 08/07 at 9:57pm. Why would this person want us to guess what promo should have come out that same day?

This whole thread should have been moved to the Just for Fun/ Rumors. I wasted a lot of time today in front of the computer thinking it could be real because it was left on the "codes and rates".

In John's defense (he was the PodCaster who mentioned the rumor), they recorded "today's" show yesterday....so they wouldn't have known whether or not a deal was announced.

Also, the original mention of the rumor on last week's show was brief -- I don't think they spent even two minutes discussing it. I think he was just passing along info he'd heard -- more of an FYI, not a big announcement. I am sure that John never imagined that his quick comment would cause dozens of people to spend all night and day clicking and refreshing Disney's website. I don't think there's a special prize for the first person who sees the discount.

I am excited about 2010 promotions as well, but as we all know, a watched pot never boils...

Though I can only speak for myself, this wasn't about being the first to see a promo. The recent value upgrade promo was only available to so many responders. In that case you snoozed, you lost. Lesson learned.

Well, I broke down and settled for running up to Wendy's and getting a frosty. If they have them in your area, they have these new twisted ones with oreo, cookie dough, or coffee toffee. It DID hit the spot!

John is somewhat in a position of authority here on disboards. His voice is going to be taken seriously. I, too, have been checking and checking for a better deal to come out because of the podcast.

Myself, I hope in John's heart he was trying to be helpful, here; so, I'll be okay with it all.

I think especially in this economy it's important not to fool with money matters on any count.
