DIS Meet Dec 8 07

We've been really lucky here. Our snow and ice turned to rain before I left for work. I got completely soaked on my way to the office, and then realized that my dry shoes and socks were sitting in a bag in my bedroom so that I wouldn't forget to bring them. I worked most of the day in bare feet, hoping that my socks and shoes would be dry enough to wear home. The trains station is a mile from my office, and I walk both ways. So, my shoes were dry enough to wear on the way home, but it was pouring again, so it really didn't matter! At least it wasn't snow and/or ice.

On another note--we made our plans for May. We'll be heading to WDW on May 15 or 16, and taking a four-night cruise on May 17, and then returning to WDW to celebrate our birthdays, which also happen to be Memorial Day weekend.

We're also starting to plan our family vacation in December. It looks like we will be taking that December cruise, and that we may even have the younger generations with us. There's also a stay at WDW involved, with DDIL's parents and other relatives. There will be no camping for us, this year, though. We're going to stay at a resort, regardless of what the rest of the gang decides to do!

You guys are coming with us?!?!? WOOHOO!!! It will be really nice to see some familiar faces. What dining are you going to be on?? I'm sure we'll have the late dining again. We need to link our dining to be at the same table!!! I'm so excited about this trip, but I need to make it through this Alaska cruise with out any casualties first!!! :lmao:

Awesome!! I now how much you were looking to get away again!!

Yippee!!! We finally got our electricity back last night!!! I'm so glad. I was so tired living with my mother in law. Let me just put it this way, she is absolutely, without a doubt, CRAZY!!! :scared: :scared1: I can't wait to go on vacation. I really need it!! I know she will be there too, but at least it's a big ship and I can get away easier!!! :rotfl:

We're hoping to be there! We'll have late dining (wouldn't have it any other way!), but will let you know about linking. It may be all 7of us--Jim and me, DS, DDIL, DGD who will be 9.5, and DGD and DGS who will be 11 months. That's a lot of kids around! And DDIL's two sisters are thinking of coming along with their families. In that case, I think Jim and I will link with you, and all of those kids can just eat somewhere else:rotfl2:!

Congratulations on the electricity! A few years back we lost power for almost a week after a storm, but it was in the middle of summer so it wasn't quite so bad.

We won't mind the kids at all!!! Bring 'em all!!! :goodvibes

We'll keep you posted on developments! Jim and I are pretty definite about this one, with or without the rest of the tribe.

I hope everyone is doing well. :grouphug:

It's been a bit crazy here. :crazy2: I had some test done before and after the cruise this past January to find out that I have a bacterial infection in my stomach lining. :scared: I didn't feel bad until I started taking the cure .... two weeks of heavy antibiotics plus Prilosic OTC and Pepto three times a day! :crowded: The sife effects are bad but when I'm finished I will be fine.

JoJo the DISDog is really feeling his age (almost 17yo) and has not been doing well. pixiedust: We are close to "the decision" Right now he is OK

We booked the April 2010 Transatlantic cruise while onboard and will probably take a few days in Barcelona afterwards. We booked our DS and his wife to go with us. :hyper:

Brack, I hope you feel better soon. Sorry to hear about JoJo. That is a tough decision. :grouphug:

Brack,

:scared: I'm so sorry to hear about your bacterial infection. I am glad you are on track to a full recovery. :flower3:

:sad2: Also, I'm sorry about JoJo. He's had a long life and I am sure has been spoiled along the way.

:cool1: Congratulations on booking your Transatlantic cruise. That is great! Wish we could come along too. pixiedust: One day ...

:goodvibes Jennifer

Does anyone on here watch House? Bill and I recently (I know it has been on a year. :rotfl:) found the show. We've been watching the re-runs and now are watching the new ones too. Bill loves his sarcasm. Right up his alley. :rotfl2:

Congrats on the Transatlantic cruise. You will have to post plenty of pictures so we can all live vicariously through you!!! :lmao:

Wendy,

:worship: Could you post some of your DLR photos? Please?!?!?!?! I am in full swing planning for our June trip. :cool1: How many days do you think is minimum for seeing everything? Right now, I have three full days and one half (morning) at DLR planned. I may just plan one night in Las Vegas and spend an extra day in San Diego. After doing research, I want to take the kids to Legoland and to see the USS Midway. San Diego seems nice and we have to fit in some beach time too. :beach: So much to fit into one week.:crowded: I told Bill to take one week vacation. He will be out over two weeks for our November/December trip. I assume he will take a day here and there too. So, one week in June seemed acceptable (work-wise). I hope I'm not trying to squeeze too much into a short timeframe. The Grand Canyon and San Diego are a MUST on this trip. When I map our route, Las Vegas isn't too much further after the GC. So, it seems like a nice stop off point too. As of right now, the only thing I have solidly booked is the Disneyland Hotel. Everything else is in limbo. :faint: Back to the drawing board...

We also just recently "found" it... now he has it set up to record every time it's only, so we'll usually sit down and watch a couple each night. Sometimes they're in order and sometimes they jump seasons, but they're good fun. I like his attitude. :thumbsup2

Here are some pictures of our puppy. It was his first time to go to the park. We had a really good time.
