Gary got all the extra shelves made for the cabinets & all I have left to put away is the food(canned goods,ect). I will get that done tomorrow & we will get the fridge back in the kitchen as well. Saturday Gary will run the new gas line for the stove(I do not want to be home for this, messing with gas just scares me, but not to cook with it lol) & then that can be moved back into the kitchen. My dining room is finally looking uncluttered

The bad weather has hit us, we are getting sleet, freezing rain, & snow. I actually hope school is canceled tomorrow, to nasty to be out.

The Good Napkins

My mother taught me to read when I was four years old (her first mistake).
One day, I was in the bathroom and noticed one of the cabinet doors was ajar. I read the box in the cabinet. I then asked my mother why she was keeping ''napkins' in the bathroom. Didn't they belong in the kitchen?

Not wanting to burden me with unnecessary facts, she told me that those were for 'special occasions' (her second mistake). Now fast forward a few months . . . It's Thanksgiving Day, and my folks are leaving to pick up my uncle and his wife for dinner.

Mom had assignments for all of us while they were gone. Mine was to set the table (her third mistake). When they returned, my uncle came in first and immediately burst into laughter. Next came his wife, who gasped, then, began giggling. Next came my father, who roared with laughter. Then came Mom, who almost died of embarrassment when she saw each place setting on the table with a 'special occasion' Kotex napkin at each plate, with the fork carefully arranged on top. I had even tucked the little tail in so they didn't hang off the edge!!

My mother asked me why I used these and, of course, my response sent the other adults into further fits of laughter. 'But, Mom, you said they were for special occasions!!!'

Life is too short for drama and petty things, so kiss slowly, laugh
insanely, love truly and forgive quickly, and for heavens sake, use THE GOOD
NAPKINS whenever you can.

We are supposed to be getting snow, too, but instead it's POURING. I haven't seen it rain this hard in ages!

Well that means we will get it later today. Maybe the mountains will slow it down or break it up some.



The insurance adjuster came out yesterday afternoon. I wasn't here but Bob came by to let her in. Now I'll just have to wait to hear from her. Keep your fingers crossed please.



Alyssa seemed to be feeling better last night. I think it was more of a head game than anything. It was Hawaiian day at school and she didn't have anything Hawaiiany to wear so she just wore a regular Christmasy dress. I guess the kids were teasing her so she got upset. So that, on top of being tired, made her tummy upset. She starts Tap classes tonight so I'm sure she is going to be just fine today. She's wanted to do that for a year, but with work I couldn't fit her age class in my schedule. I talked to the owner of her dance studio and she agreed to let Alyssa join the Tap 2 class with 7/8 year olds. I hope she does well.

I was so excited that those cabins were available!!!! A regular cat 10 inside cabin was fine but it threw me off alittle not knowing what it was like outside. We did watch the deck cam to see but its not the same.

Congrats! For anyone wanting to go summer 2009, the August 1st cruise should be lots of fun!

I need to buy a piece of luggage for a nephew for graduation. If I buy it from Macy's and something happens to the piece, do they have repair or do you send it to the manufacturer? I'd love to buy it from the Bag n Baggage outlet up here in the Dallas area, but to get it repaired I think it has to come back up here, but I'm checking. I thought I might see what options I have...

Andrew got a 98 on his math test yesterday (96 plus 2 pts. extra credit). Today are his killer tests. It was so cute yesterday. When I picked him up, a car pulled up next to us with girls from his grade in it waving to him. He ducked in the seat. How uncool is that! Then, two girls from his class have been texting him. He was so happy to have girls that are friends. I think he has a crush on at least one of them.

Today is my last official day of work, though I will be working some next week and checking e-mail. I so need this break!

Good Morning DDA!

We are delayed 2 hours this morning.

We had freezing rain and ice last night. It was definitely worse North of here where I work. The ice and slush are very thick on the roads.

It is supposed to warm up today, so hopefully it will be better by the time I head out again for work tonight.

Angie said that Leighanna was up several times last night throwing up. Hopefully she will be better after she sleeps in a little bit.

I hope she goes to school today, I need to get a little sleep too.
