DDA Chapter 12

The F&W Festival usually ends in early November because MVMCP usually starts somewhere around the middle of the month. At least, that has been the case in the past. Anything is possible, though!

We've arrived on the last weekend of the F&W Festival for the past two years and will again this year. I'm not sure if we'll make it over there or not, I want to head over to DTD and check out T Rex on our first day.

It's hard to believe that it's been 7 years, but today was the anniversary of mom's passing. We went to the cemetary and put out new flowers, weeded around the head stone and cleaned everything.

It really bothered me that there was no evidence of anyone else visiting today.

I just looked through Chanon's pictures. It looked like a perfect wedding. She was beautiful. Now I too am wondering what's up with the baby on the cake? I don't remember her mentioning it? Is that their way of telling everyone that they are expecting? Janet...any info?
I was wondering what that meant too. :confused3 Thanks for asking, since I forgot to.

I like your new ticker.

We're home and exhausted! You guys have been chatty! I will catch up tomorrow.
Leighanna had a good time, but Angie and I just kept comparing it to Disney. There just is no comparison!

We were so ready to leave after only a few hours. We only stayed because Leighanna was having fun. We NEVER feel like leaving Disney!

I will try to post pictures tomorrow!

Have a great night DDA!

I do the same thing at Kings Dominion. I've stopped going there just because I get so miserable.

Get some rest.

Oh brother. Opening drive, Steelers throw an interception and it's returned for a TD. It's gonna be a long game. Nicholas and I are watching the game. Alyssa's watching her tweeny show.

Has anyone heard from Kristine? I'm hoping that she is doing o.k.

I was just looking at her trip report thread and she hasn't checked there either.

Chris and I are going to watch the amazing race now. This is our weekly date :)

I PM'd her last night. She is just very sad.

Debbie,
DH doesn't go to his parents graves very often, but he thinks about them all the time.

I was wondering what that meant too. :confused3 Thanks for asking, since I forgot to.

I have never seen a baby on a wedding cake before. Maybe it is a family tradition? Like a blessing for a baby soon or something? :confused3

Kristine-'s

Debbie-'s

Jen- Congrats on the trip to Dallas!! Too bad it' not in a week and a half. ;)

Chanon- Congrats to you and Bob. You were an absolute gorgeous bride. :goodvibes

Did you all see picture #135 in Chanon's album "More Wedding Photos":confused3

Tom- Glad Leighanna had a great time today!

Elin- Loved reading about your trip!!

Jennifer- Same here, thanks for sharing your trip with us. I am so sorry the girls were sick and the buses weren't great.

Hi, everyone. Sounds like you all had good days. My internet is being really wonky, so I'm hoping this works!

Alan and Jacob had a fun time yesterday, but came home without an elk. Actually, they had quite an adventure. Alan took his work car which has 4 wheel drive, and when they got to their area, they took off on the dirt roads. It was a mix of snow/rain, that really turned the road to a muddy bog. Alan said he couldn't safely pick up enough speed to get the mud off the tires, so pretty soon, they were coated, and sticking. They started slipping, and ended up sliding down a small incline. Nothing drastic, and they were ok. However, the car ended up stuck up to the rims! Alan told Jacob not to worry, more hunters would be coming by and they'd get out just fine. In the meantime, they hunkered down in the car, listened to the radio, talked and ate jerky, donuts and candy bars, and drank chocolate milk and water. That happened at about 10:00 in the morning, and by 3:00 they hadn't seen anyone go by. They did get out of the car once, and shot a blue tailed grouse, but that was as much hunting as they did! At 3:00, Alan wrote a note and put it on the windshield, telling who they were, and that they were going to try walking to Soldier Summit (5 miles away) to get cell phone reception. Then he and Jacob began walking. They had walked about 3/4 of a mile and 4 men on 4-wheelers came up behind them. They had found the car and the note, and came looking. They had a winch on one of the 4-wheelers, so they took Alan and Jacob back to the car, and pulled them out.

They arrived at home at 6:00 last night, covered in mud, but Jacob was thrilled with his adventure! I guess they'll go out again next weekend and try again!

Today has been a lazy day around the house. I did 5 loads of laundry, and so I feel like I've done something. Tomorrow is picture day at school, so I need to get the kids bathed and their outfits all laid out.

Elin - Your TR was fabulous! You really made me want to try out the Food and Wine festival. However, I don't drink! Is there enough offered to make it worth my while without the drinks?

Jennifer(bear) - Leslie just lost a tooth today. All my kids have been in 1st grade before they lost any teeth. Mary has one that is really loose, but she won't let anyone touch it. Especially when we watched Alan yank Leslie's out this morning!

Jennifer (tink) - Good luck with the teething symptoms. Both twins started that months before any actual teeth showed up. However, it came and went. They'd really drool and chew for about a week, and then they'd be fine for a couple of weeks.

Glynis - I only drink once in awhile - maybe 4 drinks over the course of a year. We really enjoyed F&WF when we went in '05. On our trip this year I had a bellini on my birthday and a Grey Goose slushie one day at Epcot, but I would have had just as much fun without them. Alcohol is definitely not required!
I'm glad Alan & Jacob made it home safely!

Wow, glad they are safe!! That will be a wonderful memory for Jacob when he is older!

Robyn, That date book shows July of 2009, which would be 9 months from the wedding night. I think it was a joke. Maybe not. :confused3

Maybe the baby and the date book are both a joke. But makes ya wonder?!?!
