Okay ladies I know you all will know the answer. I bought the girls some flip flops, I really wanted to add ribbon to them to make the look custom. Is there a link to a site that helps to break it down?

Did you figure it out? I've done these in the past, and this is what I did. I wrapped the strap with ribbon, adding glue along the way so that it would stick. I made a bow out of ribbon(s), glued the bow to the top where the straps meet and the toe strap goes down. Add an embellishment on top of the bow if I want. It's pretty easy. BTW, I used hot glue and didn't have a problem.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to those who directed me to target for my "fake" american girl doll!! here is my first try at an outfit. I am making one for eliz and hannah and hannah's dolly too!! I used velcro under the buttons so eliz could do them herself. Im going to go try to make eliz's outfit right now, the Aline pattern isnt so easy for me!! lol!! thoughts or advice???

I love all of her outfits. The floral rick rack is very pretty. I like all of your little extra details. Did you buy the tink applique? Or did you do it with your machine?

I am sewing my dress for my son's graduation and I am really not happy with the dress (because is for me I am not that detail conscious) first I think the front is too deep ,maybe a little too revealing??

I am really thinking in doing it all over just halter style, what do you think???
BTW I would hate to have to start all over:mad:

Linnette
It think it is a little low cut for a graduation. But it is still gorgeous. It would be great for a night out! For goodness sake don't start all over!

I finished some of the bows for the BIG GIVE!

These are the bows to match HeatherSue's outfit.

I've seen a picture of him in his uniform, he does INDEED look quite dapper!
Even my sister-in-law thought so, and let's just say, HE is not her type!

First off, that is prime tag-fairy bait! LOL!
Second, you saved all of these up so you could WOW us, didn't you? It worked, what a bunch of great outfits!!! I also like your hair!

What about the disboards convinced you to get a perm? I really have to do something with my boring 'ol hair. My best friend told me over the weekend "I wish I had hair like yours so I could just wake up, brush it, and go." I couldn't figure out if that was a compliment or not.:worried:

I love it, Stephanie!!! It's absolutely adorable!

You have a real knack for turning "simple" into "classy". I love them!! Jeanne, the jewelry is beautiful, too!

No advice, except to agree with the person who said the big one is easier than the doll-sized one! I think it turned out great!

We Sorry for the wet hair

Those are great! Really love the lion ones!!!

Next project is a pair of easyfit "manpris" for DS from the same pirate fabric, and a new pirate bandana to match.

You really can't find cute pirate stuff for girls (well, except at WDW!). We were lucky last year we found a pink skull & crossbones dress at H & M, that DD can wear this year as a long t-shirt. She does like what her older brother likes, but she's girly too.

Maybe not the easiest garment to start with, but as they say "go big or go home!" now I'm going to make easyfit pants and not curse at my sewing machine quite as much! (Don't worry, I curse under my breath, in French, after the kids go to bed. And it's only "faux" cursing anyway!)

WOW! You really are MegaWoman if you started with that skirt! You did an awesome job!!! You will LOVE the easyfit pants-so easy and fast!!!

I started sewing again after at least a 15 year break so that I could make my tomboy some outfits in "boy" fabrics using girl patterns.

H&M has some really fun stuff. I've found some great Disney stuff there.

WOW! That is gorgeous!! I agree it's a little low for graduation, too. Could you wear a pretty camisole under it or add a "modesty panel"?

Sorry to be so breif, but i have been at the hospital with a friend who had a baby. Her family is out of state, and her husband had to drive 45 min home to take care of their dogs, she didn't expect to deliver today!
Congrats to your friend!! Did she have a boy or a girl? What did she name the baby? We need to know these things!!

Okay ladies I know you all will know the answer. I bought the girls some flip flops, I really wanted to add ribbon to them to make the look custom. Is there a link to a site that helps to break it down?
I just looked through the bookmarks and couldn't find a link. Teresa would know if there's one in there, though.

WOW! I love them!!! Thank you so much for making these!!
They'll look great with the baby Simba dress I'm making!

Well totally OT but:

Well Princess A just left. I guess I need to update my siggy now. We are taking down the crib and packing up all baby stuff tonight. We have a prospect of a kinship placement on the horizon but I cannot sit and look at it all until then. They were supposed to come get her at 11 ... they changed thier minds yesterday and decided to come at 9 this morning. It was really hard, but i lived through it. Something I honestly was not sure as of last night I would be able to do. We knew she was leaving and at least that is not looming over me. But wow my house is so quiet with just four. Thank you all for your prayers. I hope you will continue to pray for her. I think this child is destined for great things. She has already touched so many lives.

They are all beautiful, but I love the tink headband the best. I still don't know how to make my bows so pretty. I guess once I finish all my outfits for Disney and IF I have time I can try.
They aren't hard really just time consuming. I hand sew each piece so they will stay bunched together. I can't get mine to stay any other way. This link has great instructions on how to make many different types of bows. http://bowdesigns.50webs.com/loopy_surround.html

It is perfect!!! Thank you so much for doing this! I can't wait for the outfit to be done! She is going to be one coordinated little girl!!
Thank you. I can't wait to see your outfit finished.

Thank you for the compliment. I think the lion bows might be my favorite too.

Someone asked if I made the lions-I did not. They are pre-packaged and I got them from Hancock Fabrics.

 You must be going through a tough time right now. I applaud you for what you are doing for these children. Even if it's just for a little while.:worship:

As promised, here are some pictures from Henry's graduation. My camera is driving me crazy, it keeps switching settings for no reason. So, most of the pictures turned out grainy or blurry- GRRR!!! I'm hoping someone else got some good ones.

I'm glad he got the dark blue uniform instead of the brown! The class started out with 23 people, but only 9 graduated. So, I'm extra proud! They also said that no one got lower than a 90% on the written test, which is the first time that's ever happened. It was a HARD test (I helped Henry study for it), too. During the ceremony, one of the reserves said that Henry was the guy he wanted to be next to in a difficult situation because he always keeps his cool.

Henry's Grandpa, Great Grandpa, and Great-Great Grandpa were all police officers. ::cop: So, I'd say it runs in the family! His dad tends to be on the "other" side of the law. ;)

He is now a reserve police officer, which is a volunteer, part-time police officer. So, be nice to cops, some of them aren't even getting paid (we've spent a LOT of money for equipment, too)!!

What a generous and selfless person you are! Lots of thoughts and prayers your way!

HEATHERSUE!!!

Congrats to your hubby! That's awesome! I LOVE the pic of Tessa and her Daddy!
My dad's family have lots of law enforcers too! My Grandpa was a Los Angeles county Sherriff FOREVER (like during the 40's and 50's until he retired in the 80's...he's got the BEST stories about Hollywood...) and my Aunt and her husband are also police officers (in FL...)...

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

YAY!!! Another good guy. Heaven knows we need them.

That is what my DH wants to be, but I'm just too afraid for him to let him do it. His Grandma is on my side too. We keep telling him to be a mailman. His grandpa was a mailman and so was mine. We think that he would be good at that.

Luke got very silly when he saw these pictures. I'm not sure if he was excited or scared :scared1: That pic in the vest is definitely one to show any boys who want to date Tessa!

Luke says tell Tessa this letter: "I love her and I live at Utah" :lovestruc
