DDA Chapter 7

I feel the same way. Just raise the price of the ticket. Don't hit me with a bunch of "surcharges" which are "hidden costs" in my mind.

I agree-just charge more. Wouldn't it be more efficient to just charge more for the base ticket? I thinking not only will this make folks want to take more stuff as carryon-slowing down the loading and unloading of the plane but it will also make checking your bags longer if the agents have to collect money from everyone.:headache:

I am fine....near Denver to the national news is quite a funny distance...let me see if I can find the information. We are expecting nasty weather all night though.

ETA: found the information... Windsor is about an hour on the other side of Denver from us...so just under an hour and a half away. The pictures of the town are amazing in the destruction

Stay safe!:wizard:

Today is Lizzy's 9th birthday.:cake: We'll just do cupcakes tonight (store bought) and do cake at MIL's on Sunday. She picked a Pooh cake but thought about going with a plain cake. I'm glad I have at least this one more year of a kiddie cake with her.

Continued good thoughts for your mom....:wizard: :wizard:

Thanks!

Oh I forgot to say that Bernadette called & got us the Wishes Cruise for August !!!! We have never done this before so it will be nice to do with friends!:thumbsup2

How fun! :yay:

My sister is booked out on Airtran. They changed her non-stop flight from arriving at 11:30 to arriving at 3:55. She has the choice of leaving 2-1/2 hours earlier and arriving at 11:30 (with a layover in Atlanta) or leaving later and arriving at 3:55 on a non-stop.

See, those are the kind of changes I was thinking of! :headache:

Why would there be lead paint in a sleeping bag? :confused3

It does boggle the mind, doesn't it? :confused3

If they raised ticket prices they would get the extra money from EVERYBODY, which would be better than only getting money from SOME people (like ME) while everybody else crams 150 lbs. of stuff into their carry-on.

Bernadette, did you say I should have MORE KIDS? Are you INSANE? :scared1: I don't want more kids. And even if I DID want more kids my back wouldn't be on board with that plan. I am on my 8th child as it is, thank you very much. ;) And I am rather pleased that child #8 is going off to her grandparents so I can have 2 weeks off! :rotfl2:

I told DH we should just buy another SEAT with the money they will charge us for baggage. It would almost be cheaper. :headache:

Elizabeth, sending good thoughts for you and your mom.

Happy Birthday, Lizzy!

Hooray For Pig!
The site is a big book store and they have sellers. I was able to order the book today, and it will be here by the 31st.

That's really cool. What was the book, if you don't mind my asking?

I was talking to a girlfriend on the way home from work about that! It'd be cheaper to buy a seat for my luggage. Heck, women buy seats for their wedding dress, why can't I buy it for my 29" luggage!? (And just wait - someone is gonna do this and it's gonna cause quite a stir!)

I think they will too...if David A. can keep his eyes open for an entire song. The poor boy looks like he's falling asleep while singing.

I also hope that they've got proper voice teachers, finally, as we've noticed that with the Idols who have gone on to have good careers (other than Daughtry) have all had problems with over use/improper use of their vocal chords.

I think that with some more training he'll be fine! He's only 17, and at that age, he thinks he's making "bedroom eyes" or something. I've seen the same thing from my teenage nieces and nephews when they sing. They think it makes them look sexy.

From what the family rep has been saying today, David plans to do the tour this summer with AI, but he really wants to finish high school, and train for a singing career. I think, if he gets good training, he'll be just fine. He's got the voice, and I think life experience will help him out.

He comes from such a good family! They will support him! I feel badly for his father. He's really got a bad rap through this whole thing. Perhaps rightly. He is a perfectionist, but he's looking out for his underage son. I have no idea how I would react in the same situation.

That's the thing I'm really trying to figure out how to get around! :sad2:

You get your husband, the doctor and the nurses to play the bad guy! Have them let everyone know when you will be seeing visitors. Of course, a lot will depend on how the babies are after the birth. If they are in NICU, then there won't be visitation. That should help. Of course, I don't want them to be in the NICU, so I don't know what to wish for for you.

We finally had the nurses post visiting times on my door, and people were pretty good about following those hours (of course, she waited until the day before we left the hospital to come up with this plan).

OMG I am watching the news right now :scared1:

I read through earlier, but now I have forgotten what I was going to comment on!

My mom had a biopsy today on one of the uterine "fibroids". Results in 5-7 days. They told her if it is cancerous she needs a hysterectomy (Duh!) and if not then she may still need a hysterectomy if that's what the oncologist feels is the best course of action. I kind of think that if her uterus is prone to growths that it needs to come out, even if nothing has been cancerous so far.

She goes Tuesday for the ultrasound to look at the breast tumor, so at least by the time she goes for her surgical consult all the test results should be back and they can make an informed decision about what needs to be done.

I feel the same way about they hysterectomy, Elizabeth! If you're done using it, no use having it hang around. Good luck. You all remain in my prayers!

Ok, now I get it. Both the top candidates were David? I wondered how Elizabeth was being non-specific when she gave the name. If this is the case, it all makes sense now.

Yup. 2 Davids. Both incredibly talented!

Happy Birthday Lizzy.

Well if you adopt me, you can have kiddie cakes forever. :teeth:

That's why I love my sister! She makes the cakes for all our family birthdays, and with 11 grandchildren (so far) there will be kiddie cakes for years. We went there on Monday for a birthday party and got a pirate Mickey cake. It was yummy, too! Chocolate with chocolate ganache filling! Yummo!!!!!
