I don't know, it was the only time while at Disney that I didn't feel the magic happen. I wasn't sure how much I should push the issue as I wasn't sure if it was on Alaska's, TSA, or Disney's end. Like all good little air passengers, I just accepted what I was told and went with the flow...don't want to cause problems! Don't want to be bodily searched at the airport!

anyhoo...

Departure Day, part two.

Time for Whispering Canyon! It must have been a quiet time of the day. Other than tossed straws and napkins, the whole place was quiet. I've heard so much about the nose and antics, it was quite a surprise. I did have my first hamburger of the trip there (we both had the burger), and it was quite good I must say. I had wine, DH had a milkshake...and about died when it turned out to be bottomless. Why couldn't the wine be bottomless?

Rain stopped! Time for a walk!

I want to stay in that top corner balcony room.

Never did go to the Trout Pass.

More to come!

Departure day....part three

Warning, regrets ahead.

DSCN1264.jpg

I regret that we never went to the hot tub, in the night or daytime.

DSCN1265.jpg

I regret that we never went swiming, with or without the ducks.

DSCN1266.jpg

I regret that we never saw the geyser go off except from afar.

DSCN1267.jpg

I regret that we didn't spend more time sitting on the dock, or on the beach, looking at the water.

I also regretted not taking a tour of the Wilderness Lodge.

So, we went on one last boat ride around the lake. We did the loop from WL, to Contemporary, to Fort Wilderness, and back. It was wonderful conversing with the captains (two different ones this time) again. I loved hearing about Discovery Island and River Country.

We got our bags just as the bus pulled up.
I loved that there was a going away video on Magical Express, it helped prolong the magic a bit longer.
We checked in at the airport.
We waited in the long line at security.
Onto the plane.
My parents picked us up.
Soon we were home...
...and fell asleep for about 12 hours straight.

While you may have many regrets, just think of them as an excuse for going back! Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos and trip thoughts with us.

I'm sad it's over. I don't usually get in to reading trip reports, but really enjoyed yours. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you for reading!

...I think there will be a few more pics though...I've been playing with photobucket.

Should I post more? lol

Thanks for sharing your pictures and detailed narration of your trip. We're definitely planners, too, but you've got us beat by far!

We Love being DINKs!!

The pics from the Wilderness Lodge were excellent, you really captured her beauty and that of nature around her. The WL is definitely the sister lodge to the Animal Kingdom Lodge the with similar architecture, only decorated in an African theme. I would love to stay at the WL sometime.

Thanks so much for sharing your trip report, it's been great following it from the pre-trip planning stage to the end. And yes! Post more pics if you have them for all to enjoy.:thumbsup2

And I agree with the previous poster, we enjoy being DINKS too!:cool1:

Thank you! I Think Animal Kingdom Lodge will be the last one on the list that we stay at. Why? I want to save the best for last. I have a feeling that once we go AKL savannah view, we'll never go back.
YAY DINKS!!!

....I'll keep the pics coming.

I never realized that you could do that type of thing with pics in Photobucket. I think I need to do a little playing around with our pics from our last trip and enhance them a bit. I love the first pic you posted that I am thinking it was taken at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad? The bright colors make the pic look perfect, especially the blue sky. I like to scrapbook my trips so enhancing the photos that way would really be cool. Thanks so much for sharing your trip and pics with us, I truly enjoyed it!

Me either - that's cool. Well, I'm off to play on Photobucket. :)

I felt this one needed to look more like a princess movie...

Thanks for the great report. My ds's were looking over my shoulder one night when I was reading it. They loved George. They are now planning to do something similar when we go down in AUg. They are thinking of taking a Stitch and putting him near hidden Mickey's and taking a picture. WE shalll see.
